Harmony Interior

I was introduced to Joanna through our contractors, prior to our project start date. From the very first meeting, Joanna’s organization, professional and pleasant demeanor were evident. We had a complex project, ours was not a complete demo but a complete remodel of our entire 1920s home, so in a sense more complex than a tear down because we had to blend the old and new. The project could not have turned out as beautifully without Joanna’s careful tracking and organization. For example, we had to replace ~ 60 windows, 25 doors (interior and exterior) and entire house of new cabinets (kitchen, mudroom, all bathrooms, and office). The level of tracking and details that are required needs attention to detail (windows/doors opening, up vs down, to the right vs to the left, what side is hardware etc.). Joanna developed detailed excel, sheets, budget tracking tools and was very consistent on top of the timelines so that we selected materials and ordered in time for our project. In addition, Joanna designed a custom storage system in my new office/sewing room with a built-in sewing cabinet that disappears behind paneled doors. She expertly sourced and worked with exterior vendors to design a custom front door, custom garage door, and overhauled our storage system in our garage. Joanna took me to as many vendors as I wanted but if I felt overwhelmed, she selected materials based on my style/feedback, while providing me with choices I might not have known about. There are so many examples of how Joanna went out of her way to be helpful and narrow our selection. An example that comes to mind is when ordered exterior lights from New Orleans, clearly, we could not travel to see the product but to help us visualize/understand the size, Joanna built a model out of cardboard to demonstrate the scale to help us know what would work with our home. Even after we moved back, Joanna has graciously followed up on some vendors that we needed some minor adjustments. I would not hesitate to recommend Joanna (a former engineer, which makes sense why she is so detailed) for any project. She is a joy to work with and I would collaborate with her again on any project.

The service provided by Joanna from Harmony Interior was invaluable in terms of finding the right cabinetry, tiles, countertop slab, flooring, and paints for our project. She was professional, friendly, knowledgable and helpful throughout and we could not recommend her highly enough.

I had Joanna design my kitchen and master bathroom. She not only has a great design sense, she also helps with project management of our entire project from beginning to end. She has a well established group of vendors and always makes sure that our needs are met and our project finishes on time. Joanna has done two projects for us already and we will find her again for future renovations!

Joanna was such a pleasure to work with in remodeling our 2 & 1/2 bathrooms with laundry room. She helped us with each step of the process, from connecting us with vendors, choosing materials that matched our vision, creating accurate layout drawings, providing input for necessary design changes, and assisting us in the overall design process. Joanna was very proficient, thorough, efficient, and professional. She followed up with multiple vendors to ensure prompt delivery dates of our materials or with any questions or concerns we encountered. She would also follow up with our contractor and project managers for us when needed. The spreadsheets and design folder/drive with all of our materials and remodeling information was very helpful. I loved working with Joanna! She was so patient, a good listener and very intuitive. Gave good advice and helped with shopping for materials. She was meticulous about details and measurements. I would highly recommend her for any project big or small. This was a kitchen update. It was the second project I called her for.

We had the pleasure of working with Joanna for our kitchen and bathroom remodel. She understood what we were looking for and made suggestions that made our space functional and beautiful. She is easy to communicate and discuss ideas with. She always provides honest opinions on design and is quick to respond. Joanna was a great designer to work with, and we LOVE how our project turned out. We worked with her to redesign our kitchen and two bathrooms this past spring. During our initial meeting, she carefully reviewed the existing layout in-person and got to know our vision for the overall project. She followed all Covid safety protocols and we even held meetings outdoors when necessary. In subsequent onsite meetings, she provided 3D drawings of the spaces and worked with us to select the layout we liked best. She handled all of the calculations for measurements, flooring, fixtures… everything! She proposed clever changes that we might not have been able to imagine on our own, adding windows, shower seating, and changing entryways and appliance locations with a keen attention to building codes and design aesthetics. There were countless instances where her expertise prevented us from making some amateur mistakes. After the design process, she accompanied us on trips to vendors to select fixtures and materials. Many times, she would already be waiting for us at the showroom with materials already selected based on our previous conversations. Once the project began, she dropped into the construction site on a regular basis to interface with vendors and ensure that the contractors were executing the plans properly. No job was too small for her, she even helped us select grout colors. Overall, we found Joanna to be very knowledgable, pleasant, and incredibly responsive. She truly partnered with us to design spaces that are beautiful and functional. We couldn’t have done it without her.

It was so amazing working with Joanna! She is very knowledgeable, always think ahead of me and know what I needed. I loved all her professional opinions, and she always reminded me of detail parts that I couldn’t even think of! I would definitely love to work with her again!

Joanna was our designer on the extension and redesign of our principal bedroom and bath in San Mateo, CA. She was helpful throughout the process from the concept to drawings, helping choose materials in sync with our tastes, and working with our contractor to transform our bedroom into a stylish and comfortable space with a mid-century aesthetic. When we occasionally requested something to be reconsidered or even changed, she was very responsive to our feedback and preferences. We would work with her again!

Joanna helped me with two very differently designed bathroom remodels. She was quickly able to get a sense of what I had in mind, and make some great suggestions I had not even thought of. She offered several floor plan options and kept revising until we were perfectly satisfied. Open minded and flexible she was able to pivot and save the day when there were delays, if I wanted another price point for an item or if there were other (inevitable) snags in the plan. She was thoroughly engaged with each step of the project. Concerned that I was perfectly happy with everything, she was very responsive, and an excellent communicator. I am so pleased with the outcome.

Joanna is not just a brilliant and talented designer but also an wonderful human being with great work ethics. We hired her for a bathroom remodel project and she gave it her 100%. Joanna helped me achieve my dream bathroom. I already knew what I wanted since I had saved magazine and online pictures. She also helped me design a new linen closet space. She listened and internalized my taste and guided me in that direction when we shopped for building materials. She was patient, knowledgeable, flexible, resourceful, and made helpful suggestions.
