I met Byron by chance through a contractor we had over to assess our remodel before we got started on our design. What a blessing that was! Byron has been great from the start. He was easy to get in touch with and extremely responsive. He conducted a style session with us to understand our vision, and then created a design I couldn't dreamed up myself. He also has an engineering background which helps him to design things that are actually doable. We are tearing out load bearing walls, and his expertise was key to getting the design right the first time. He also has 3-D rendering which really helps to see what he has designed. We have really enjoyed working with Byron so far.. Part of his service even includes time to help us through the whole construction process, including shopping for materials. He is very clear about price up front, and does not charge you based on hours. He spends the time to get it right, and is very reasonable. I can't wait to begin executing our design. If you hire Byron, I promise you will not be disappointed!

We started looking for a designer in February to help us with a remodeling project in our house that included the kitchen, family room, and half bathroom. We did a couple of other projects before without a designer, and they did not go very well. We wanted the guessing game with the contractors to be non-existent and we thought having a design at hand would help us with this. We contacted three designers that we picked based on A+ ratings from Angie’s list, and 5 stars in Houzz. One of the firms never returned our calls or emails, another one wanted us to meet only in their office and charge us only for a meeting, and finally there was Byron from InteriorYou. When I saw Byron’s reviews in Angie’s list I thought he was probably going to be impossible to book. Looking at his website I saw not only the amount of projects and vast experience he has, but also the quality and scale of his work. He has been featured on designer segments on local news, and on top of that he has written a book about personal and business improvement, for which he has a radio segment. So my thoughts where that he was probably too busy to take on our project and that probably he was out of range. To my surprise, he returned my call quickly, which said a lot about the way he treats his clients (like they are the first and the only). He proposed to meet in our house so he could get an immediate idea of the space and also our taste. That for us was the way we thought a designer should work. Our fist meeting took about an hour. We talked to him about our vision and he explained to us how the designer process works, and that he would be with us every step of the way. After this first meeting we knew that he was the one. He put together a bid in less than a week, and his price was very reasonable, especially for the amount of time that he dedicates to each project. His bidding includes not only time for designing the space, but also materials and accessories time, as well 3D renderings and virtual reality of how everything will look after is done. My husband is a very visual person so this helped him a lot. After we signed a contract he took time to meet again at the house, and he was with us for about two hours. We looked at inspiration photos with him, he got a sense of our vision, and he gave us his vision of the space. By the end of the meeting he could see a photo and tell us if we liked it or not. He listens to from beginning to end and puts his own creative spin on the design. Byron also has an engineering background, so when he designed our space he took into account any structural modifications that may have needed to be done to help us avoid any surprises when getting bids from the contractors. He sent one of his employees to take measurements in our house and after about 2 weeks he presented about 4 rendering options to us. We picked the design elements we liked best and then he kept working on every detail until we loved it, he made as many changes as we wanted as he really wanted us to be super happy with our choices. After the final design was done, he showed it to us on his virtual reality program in our house. It was incredible, because we could visualize the final product exactly as it should look like. We also received the 2D renderings and a contractor package to send for bids that included his information in case the contractors wanted to contact him directly with questions. But his work did not end there. He took the time to be there with us when we where meeting with the contractors for bids to make sure we asked the right questions and also to make sure that the contractors would give us an accurate scope of the project based on his design. One of the construction companies, which is rated A+ in Angie’s list, was his recommendation. He has worked very closely with them in several projects and they had the most detailed bid, so we ended up going with them (their review will come later on the year, but really good so far). Byron is still helping us on our project as we just went to pick our materials. In any other occasion that could have taken at least half a day, but Byron knows us so well now, that he knew exactly where to go, and exactly the material we would like, so it really took us less than two hours. He also met with us back at our house with the cabinet company to explain the layout to them and make sure they understood even the smallest details. Needless to say he has been available to us 24/7 and he has done way more than the specified in his contract. The construction process has not started yet, but as I said at the beginning, he will be with us every step of the way. I cannot believe how lucky we are we found him and I know he will be our designer for ALL future projects. I just hope we have enough time with him before he gets snatched by a designer TV network, because with the quality of his work and the incredible human being he is, it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s his next step.

We sustained considerable damage during Hurricane Harvey. Since we were working with a blank slate, we took the opportunity to make updates and room reconfigurations to our home during the rebuilding process. Byron delivered the perfect plan to match our style, need, and vision. He was fabulous to work with and was always available for questions and updates as necessary. The plans he delivered made it easy to communicate our desires with the contractor performing the repairs. Byron has been instrumental in assisting us with materials and paint selections; heading out this week to choose countertop and backsplash for the kitchen. In hindsight, we could not have accomplished this without his expertise and ongoing support. Excited to finally get back in our home, but will miss our design meetings! Looking forward to working with him on our next project.

We felt very comfortable with Byron's engineering background, and what that experience brought to the table/project. The 3D technology he offers is amazing, and truly helped erase any concerns as to how our final home product would look! His warm nature, and willingness/interest to help see the project to its completion, always gave the project a sense of control which was especially nice, since our project was +$130k. Byron designed a beautiful 3D of our garage turned bar. He made multiple changes as requested based on our budget and style needs. He identified 3 contractors for us to potentially use and came to every meeting offering insight and ideas. He listened and designed a space that was perfect for us!! Working with Byron was a dream. He was so easy and flexible to work with in the design process. I never expected he would help with the selection of the contractor. He held our hand from the beginning to the end of the project. Long after a normal designer would have considered themselves done. He prides himself on going above and beyond and he does! I could not recommend someone higher.

He is very attentive to his clients and loves to pay attention to the details of the project. He is quick to answer questions about the work we are doing for him. Byron Kidder transformed my tiny boring wine bar Into a Cool Unique Spacious wine bar adding puck lights, glass doors, mirror and more. Byron K. is the Reason my Kitchen Island is now Beautiful & Grand. My Bathroom shower looks amazing with Pebbles and Mosaic tiles because of Byron's expert advice. If I could remodel my entire house, I'd hire Interior You; my only regret is that I did not know Interior You/Byron Kidder during my initial build. I 100% recommend Interior You.

Our home was flooded during Hurricane Harvey and we had nothing left but bare studs. Byron was very helpful and easy to work with. He showed us what the house would look like with interior walls removed, new flooring and new cabinets. The helpfulness really left a positive impression of the process - a much better solution than trying to guess how the pieces would fit together. An excellent value and ended up saving a lot of time for us and the contractor. We are still selecting flooring, colors and furniture which promises to be another great experience. One of Byron's unique skills was keeping our family calm after losing our house and reassuring us it could be rebuilt. He is working with the various contractors to make certain we stay consistent with the designs and finish within our budget.
