We actually contacted John and Heather to help us make the final decision as to whether we would buy what started as a tired old house. Heather and Erica then helped us envision what it could become and guided its transformation to a charming, comfortable home and elevated it with timeless character. Having worked with designers on previous projects elsewhere, we thought we had a good idea about what to expect, but they truly took it to another level and blew us away at our final “reveal”. Their one of a kind thorough, detailed design process combined with their consistent professional, kind, direct, and enthusiastic manner gave us an ease and confidence with their team and work on our behalf. From a 1970s tract home that left us paralyzed about where to start, we now have incredible, stunningly beautiful spaces and it's so much fun to entertain! John McClain Design tackled my entire house, from top to bottom. My house was a cookie-cutter 1980's suburban house, with little cohesion or style. To make matters worse, I had no idea what I really wanted or how to make it better. John McLain Design not only gave me my dream house, but they were able to help me see what my style was. Their team is beyond professional. They were fun to work with and made the process so much easier and enjoyable. They have an amazing eye for detail and kept to my budget throughout the process. My house now has life and personality. I have to admit, I dreaded the idea of a remodel. However, John McLain Design not only gave me a home beyond my wildest imagination, but also fantastic memories of our journey to get there (even though Covid hit mid-project). Having been referred to JMD by our wonderful realtor, Jennifer King, we just completed an extensive remodel on a 1961 home we had recently purchased. For 10 months I worked with John and his team and couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome. Heather spent many moments on our project listening to what details I felt were important while yet creating a livable sense of comfort. With our design they used their eye for recognizing all things beautiful and turned an idea into more than one imagined. Heather and John handled every large & small detail right down to the perfect size end tables for the newly reconfigured master bedroom, ordered & delivered stunning hanging globe lamps and suggested throw pillows to freshen up our family room sofa. John is an honest individual and also very easy to work with while being extremely professional. I have, and will continue to recommend John McLain Design.

John McClain is amazing! He helped me and my clueless husband transform a previously useless area in our home to what is now a very functional and gorgeous space. He took extra steps to personally oversee some of the work. He’s also super sweet and easy to work with. Our 2 year old daughter still randomly talks about him weeks since he’s been here! We would highly recommend him and can’t wait to have him tackle the rest our house!
