About Us

JONATHAN WANG DESIGN (JWD) is a multidisciplinary design studio founded in 2019 and based in Los Angeles. The studio provides design services for commercial and residential planning & interior design. Our design philosophy focuses on minimalist modern design that creates unique and experiential spaces. We believe well-designed spaces shall be timeless and memorable which leads to sublime user experiences and strong brand identity. We work closely and collaboratively with our clients to understand their specific needs, project goals, and objectives to come up with creative and cost-effective design solutions specifically tailored to each project. We design our spaces through images. Each project begins with the production of detailed 3D models with thoughtfully chosen material textures, spatial appropriate lighting, and focus on user perspectives. This design process help clients visualize their visions and understand spatial scale, proportion, and materiality.

Jonathan has helped me on multiple single family resident projects. He is very helpful in providing design advice and giving rendering that’s help you see what the final product would look like. Aside from that, Jonathan has also provided a lot of advice and help on the overall permitting timeline ( what to expect, timeframe, etc). He is very responsive and transparent and I have truly enjoyed working with him.

I knew Jonathan when we were both at USC for graduate school. After that, we went to pursue our own professional careers in the different disciplines of building design. As a structural engineer, I have worked with lots of architect designers, Jonathan definitely is one of the top designers for his creative mind, attention to detail, communicative and controlled process, and excellent aesthetic taste. After he founded his own business Jonathan Wang Design, I was lucky to work with him as a structural consultant from 2019. It's a great pleasure to work with him because I like to take challenges for his creative design, great project management process. Even though sometimes his extraordinary ideas cost lots of time of engineering to make it happen. His custom-oriented approach and exceptional understanding of beauty have always been not comprised. I look forward to continuing work with Jonathan to build more timeless masterpiece projects!

We hired Jonathan Wang Design to help with our home addition and renovation project with full interior design and project management. He helped us every step of the way to make our dream home, from drawing up the plans, submitting to the city for permits/approvals, helping us find the right contractor, interior design, and even picking out the materials and fixtures for the entire home. Hiring Jonathan definitely made our life easier during the entire process. He is very responsive, patient and easy to work with. If I ever open another restaurant again I would want Jonathan aka Jon to be my designer. I am a contractor and I work with Jonathan on more than a few projects. I have to say he's keep coming up with new ideas. At the beginning my team was a little impatient over Jonathan's challenging design, (Jon's design was a little too advanced for the older generation) but Jon believed in all of his designs, when the project was completed (Sunright Tea Studio Arcadia, CA) everyone was shocked and said it was absolutely beautiful, some even asked who the designer was. As a contractor, I worked with many designers but this is my first time writing a review on my own project with this designer. Jonathan Wang you're the best designer I ever work with, well done, it would be my honor and grateful to work with you again!

We wanted to remodel our house and had no idea where to start and needed help articulating our vision and putting a plan together to do the remodel. We also wanted to understand how to rank the changes in terms of importance and budget. Jonathan listened very carefully to what we wanted, and had an amazing ability to translate our vision onto paper and made some incredible and creative suggestions when he presented his plan to us. He had fresh ideas on changes that were insightful and we followed every single suggestion he made. The end result is incredible. We recently had our house appraised and our $120K remodel increased the value of the house by $500K. All of the credit goes to Jonathan and his vision. Jonathan is also very easy to work with, and very responsive to questions. We are already thinking about phase 2 of our remodel and will certainly call Jonathan for his help. We highly recommend him!
