Working with Jana (Opal Design Group) was one of the best decisions we made during our home project. From the very beginning, she understood our vision of creating an organic modern home—something warm, natural, and timeless—and she brought it to life beyond what we imagined. Every detail was thoughtfully curated. The space feels calm, elevated, and incredibly livable. Jana has an extraordinary eye for mixing materials like wood, stone, and linen in a way that feels both sophisticated and effortless. What really stood out was how well she listened. The process felt collaborative, organized, and even enjoyable thanks to her professionalism and creativity. Our home now feels like a sanctuary—exactly the organic modern dream we hoped for. We constantly get compliments from guests, and more importantly, we love living in it every single day. I can’t recommend Jana highly enough if you’re looking for someone who can turn your vision into something truly special.

We had the pleasure of working with Jana Romney at Opal Design Group on a partial remodel of our dated home. We truly can’t recommend her highly enough. From start to finish, Jana was fantastic to work with. She is professional, creative, responsive, and solutions-oriented. Our project focused on updating the upper floor, including the primary suite, a second bathroom, additional bedrooms, and a bonus room. Jana reimagined these spaces with a transitional style that beautifully balances modern elegance with the home’s original traditional character. Jana’s design feels both timeless and thoughtfully functional for everyday living. As with any renovation, a few unexpected issues arose, but Jana was quick to find smart, effective solutions that kept everything on track. She was consistently available when we needed her, and her keen attention to detail made all the difference. Jana truly transformed our home, and we’re grateful for her expertise and guidance. I am a general contractor and I have worked with Jana on a few projects already. Her design and attention to detail is outstanding! I highly recommend Opal Design. Very easy to work with and they provide professional drawings and sketches to best illustrate the design concepts. The selections booklet was great also! It showed all the flooring selections, colors, door styles, etc. all in one place. Very handy for both the homeowners and contractors.

Two years ago my wife and I purchased a house in Tualatin, OR with our daughter and her family. The house required significant modification to accomodate both families. This required adding three bedrooms/bathrooms, a sitting area and second laundry/office upstairs and modifying the doorstairs to provide my wife and I a retirment apartment. We commisioned Jana Romney and her Opal Design team for the design effort including specifying fittings and furnishings. The result is nothing but stunning. My wife and I would have no hesitation in reccomending Jana and Opal Design to others who want are considering similar projects.

I always enjoy working with Opal Design Group. As their window covering expert, we collaborate on projects that require custom blinds, shades or draperies. While the focus of our time is on this part of the project, I get to see the work they have done, the plans and vision in process and hear from their clients how pleased they already are. I get to see in action how good they are at listening to their clients and in creating beautiful end results. From smaller projects to complete renovations. They are very organized, timely and have extensive knowledge as to options and styles that meet each client's needs. I highly recommend Opal Design Group!

Jana of Opal Design Group is hands down the best design professional I have ever worked with. As a General Contractor, I have worked with many designers in the past. After meeting Jana 7 years ago I have worked with no one else since. First of all Jana brings no ego to her process. It is never her way or the highway. She truly works with her clients to achieve the design they want. Once the design is complete she provides me with a design book, which makes the remodel process so much easier. And, she is always available for questions throughout the remodel. Jana thinks way outside of the box. There have been many times where I have seen her design and said, "are you sure this is going to work, I have never done anything like it". Every time, without fail, once I have followed her design plan, it turns out incredible. My wife and I have also personally used Jana to design and furnish our home, which might be the biggest compliment I can pay her. We love how everything turned out and we are proud to show it off to friends and family.

I found Opal Design at a local home show and immediately was impressed with their design style. I hired them to help me decorate a few rooms in my home as well as to help me pick out some paint colors. I am SO glad I got their help...I just wish I would've brought them on earlier on during the building process. Jana helped me pick out beautiful paint colors that I never would've thought of using. She helped me select furniture that I love and would not have known where to find such furniture, and she did an amazing job with finding decor to make my house feel like a home. I am so happy with the results! I highly recommend Opal Design.

Opal Design Group was amazing to work with. They furnished/decorated the living room just off of our front entry way. Our designer got us floor plans and furniture options within days of visiting our home. After giving our feedback she made the adjustments we wanted and got our orders in. She got us great custom pieces within our budget. The style fits the rest of our home and us. She put things together I would have never thought of but it really ties together the color of our wood floors and the walls... and just looks good. She also helped us get furniture that fits our lifestyle. We have small child and needed furniture with stain resistant fabrics and soft corners. Everyone that comes to our home comments on the room. I've been referring them to everyone.

Opal Design means getiting what you want, getting honesty, and getting the best. I have worked with them on a commercial project and on my home. Both of which were transformed into exactly what I wanted. Beauty and function. I only wish that I could give 10 stars instead of 5.
