My husband and I stumbled into Prevalent Project's retail location in Mill Valley by happenstance days after putting an offer on a new home. Walking into the store, we felt right at home amongst an aesthetic we loved but had never seen curated in the way Julia and Floyd have so thoughtfully done. We were delighted to see brands we recognized and in awe of the treasure trove of new brands we discovered despite a deep admiration for Scandinavian design. As we made our way through the store, we had the privilege of meeting Julia who curates all of the furniture and decor and Floyd who leads the design work. Upon meeting them both, we knew we had met our design spirit animals. Days after first stumbling into Prevalent Projects, we learned that our offer was accepted and we knew we would be hiring them to help make our new home, feel like our home. We worked with Floyd to scope out several different phases of the project with the first phase being a 1 month cosmetic reno prior to move in. Floyd helped us select new hardwood floors, we created floating walls, new paint as well as oak finishes throughout, including an oak accent wall that completely transformed the space. Floyd brought in an amazing lineup of craftsmen, and vendors to complete the work - not only were these people exceptional at their craft but they were dependable and finished things according to schedule. He even designed a custom sideboard to address the unique dimensions and needs of the space. Julia helped to select all of the furniture pieces for the main living spaces and coordinated their arrival upon completion of the work and just prior to our move in date. Despite the short timeline and the natural tension that comes with taking on such a project, Floyd and Julia made it a truly enjoyable and easy process. Their genuine enthusiasm for the project mirrored ours throughout and we felt like they took the same pride in the the outcome as if it were their own. Needless to say, we got so much more in hiring Prevalent Projects than we could have hoped for - we now consider them confidants and friends and look forward to continuing to work with them on subsequent phases of the project. For anyone considering hiring Prevalent Projects, you will not find 2 more genuine and talented people in Floyd and Julia to help bring your design dreams to life.
