I am indebted to Ahmad AbouZanat of Project AZ for his assistance in helping me achieve the cool, aesthetic serenity of my new apartment. Though our project began during the pandemic, it did not limit his ability to provide layout and design ideas as well as opportunities to see actual furniture and rugs ( as the city began to open up). Ahmad is a thoughtful designer, suggesting possibilities, but absolutely willing to modify the direction of his thinking if not completely aligned with his client. He was also able to incorporate a lot of my existing furniture into the final design. Aside from his keen design sense, he was very responsive to telephone calls, texts and emails, and provided ongoing reassurance when I, the untrained client, needed it most. My experience with Project AZ was extremely positive and I can recommend Project AZ unequivocally.

I have had the pleasure of working with Ahmad on three major projects and several smaller ones over the past few years. He is an absolute joy to work with! Not only is he incredibly talented, he is also the first designer I have worked with who is also very mindful of and transparent with budgets. While his portfolio showcases beautiful work with modern styles, he is also incredibly talented with traditional furniture and patterns as well. Fortunately for us, he has been able to design two very beautiful traditional homes for our family and my husband's sleek and modern office downtown. Several years ago Ahmad accepted the large job of helping our family move townhouses in New York City. He took measurements and photographs of all of our furniture and rugs then took measurements of every room in the new house. He then created floor plans complete with the rugs, furniture placement and new paint colors. His talent for choosing the perfect paint color is truly a gift! After the movers placed the rugs and furniture according to his plans, Ahmad chose the location for over 100 pieces of art, numerous lamps and other decorative objects. Then last year we moved townhouses again. Because he did such an exceptional job with our last move, I asked him to join me in looking at my favorite homes before we made our final decision. His ability to envision a home's potential was invaluable in our decision making process. He once again orchestrated the new paint colors and placement of furniture, rugs, art, lamps and all decorative objects. His placement of pieces in different rooms gave new life to our existing furniture and art. Having his help actually makes the usually stressful job of moving fun. With 5 young children, I have had so much fun with Ahmad as he created all of their nurseries and most recently a playroom. He brought out their unique personalities for each room yet somehow was able to make it still feel cohesive with the rest of the home. After being so pleased with Ahmad's work in our traditional homes, my husband hired him to design his very contemporary office. My husband was moving to a new office space with zero furniture and needed Ahmad to source all of the furniture and lighting. He once again knocked the project out of the park! He presented my husband with many options for floor plans, furniture, rugs, lighting, and office necessities within a matter of days. In addition to these three large projects, Ahmad has helped with smaller jobs from time to time such as picking out new fabrics for window treatments or for reupholstering furniture and new light fixtures for our dining room. He often will text photos to me of furniture or art he sees that reminds him of something he thinks our family will love and he is always spot on with his suggestions! I have recommended Ahmad to countless friends for both big and small projects who, like me, have all been thrilled with his results. Ahmad has been with me on my home buying journey from the start. He came with me to various properties and helped me see their potential. Once I chose and bought my apartment he helped me transform it into exactly what I had envisioned. He is available, approachable and reasonable. He gives you as much or as little creative freedom as you want and is always there to offer advice.
