Studio Sven has worked in my own home, which is a loft in the West Loop, and they've also worked with numerous real estate clients of mine on designing their homes too! The caliber of design work is unparalleled, extremely creative and unique. What they do is anything but cookie-cutter. Additionally, the attention-to-detail and execution of the final product has been flawless. They take care of all the details, lining up of contractors and vendors, and in the end, reveal day was a huge surprise and everything turned out better than we could have imagined. "Why would we work with an interior decorator when we can do everything by ourselves and save a bunch of money?" That was my starting point before my wife and I decided to work with Lauren and Studio Sven to customize and decorate our new home in North Center. As someone who initially was on the fence, let me tell you that we could not have been more impressed by the end product. Lauren and her team really listened to our likes, dislikes and must-haves, and brought us concepts and ideas that we would have never thought of or considered - in the best way possible. She ran point on bringing in trusted and high-quality contractors for things like a new banquette and updated light fixtures, and helped design several beautiful custom furniture pieces (in addition to completely transforming several rooms.) Almost two years later, everything still looks wonderful (particularly with two small children under the age of 4 running around). We are now hooked. She currently is helping convert our downstairs bedroom into an office, and we have a long list of projects we'd like to eventually tackle with her. Professional, detail-orientated and an excellent communicator. 5 stars - would recommend.

We have completed multiple projects with Lauren's team including a condo at The Ritz Carlton Residences, a Bucktown Bungalow and a gut renovation in Hyde Park. Each project has been uniquely creative and a pleasure to work on. We look forward to many more future projects with Studio Sven!

For my first full remodel I was not sure what to expect, had a lot to learn, found myself to be nervous and at times difficult to manage in this process. Studio Sven, particularly, Lauren Svenstrup, remained professional, was able to be empathetic yet also focused. What I never expected was how her vision, creativity, ability to see the finished product, and her innovation delivered a true work of art while exceeding all expectations. Lauren's gifts, talent, and ability to deliver while ALSO managing the process are true assets. Lauren was amazing to work with - exceptionally talented and fun. In short order, she was able to draw us out and gain our thoughts on how we live, what we like, and the challenges with our spaces that we wanted to solve. The vision that she presented us surprised us in the absolute best way. It was us but a version of us that we never would have found our way to on our own. From the overall look/design to the individual pieces and details that she identified for us, we couldn't have been more thrilled. We love our current place but talk all the time about looking forward to future work with Lauren.

I am so happy we hired Studio Sven to design our home. This was our first foray into hiring an interior design firm to design and decorate our house for us, and we were apprehensive about handing over the project (and $$) to someone else. However, the experience ended up being totally painless and surprisingly fun. I am amazed by the time Lauren and Lydia put into hunting down or designing the perfect piece or look for every last inch of the house...and by "perfect," I mean 1) suits our oddball taste without offending everyone else's (I hope), 2) looks grown-up but is resistant to our kids' jumping all over it, 3) costs waaay less than it looks, in most cases, and 4) is as functional as it is stylish. We'd hire Studio Sven again in a heartbeat if we were planning on moving to another house, which we're not, because we now live in our dream home.

Lauren is simply wonderful. We hired her to do a facelift of the entire first floor of our previous home on Logan Boulevard in early 2017. We had her do both the design and full service implementation (i.e. bidding out and negotiating contractors, ordering, dealing with deliveries, etc. etc.) and she did both aspects of the job really well. Her demeanor with contractors is exactly what you’d want it to be—persistent, assertive, and scrappy. We were not her easiest clients. This was the first relatively major home renovation we’d ever made and we wanted to accomplish A LOT within our ~65K budget, and were a little nervous about implementing what we considered to be a relatively bold design (in the context of the relatively safe design choices we’d always made). But she did it. She stretched our budget to the max in really creative ways to totally transform our space and accomplish everything on our wish list for the space. And we were hooked. About a year later we had her help us design our 2 kids’ bedrooms in a “home cure”—i.e. spent the day with her figuring out a design and getting her product/paint/fabric selections, and then WE implemented. (I was on maternity leave, so I had time to implement this time.) Again, slam dunk thrilled with the result. We just recently sold that house, and after the first weekend on the market, we had 7 offers in hand—several with escalation clauses, and we ended up selling for around 10% above our asking price—“as is”. Although the house was fabulous for lots of reasons, I know that the spectacular design that Lauren came up with played no small part in attracting this attention and drumming up people’s bids. We’ve now just moved to our new home in Evanston, and one of the first things we did was get Lauren in to start transforming this space for us as well—this time back to doing the full service design + implementation arrangement. We’re now most of the way through the design phase, and it’s running like clockwork. Lauren knows our tastes and limits very well at this point and we don’t need to spend much time at all fine tuning the aesthetic. She’s got it down, and especially now that she has Lydia working by her side, the pair of them are quite speedy indeed. So far so good! Will plan to update/supplement my review once this new project is complete. If history is any indication, we’ll be happy customers.

Lauren of Studio Sven is truly amazing! She took on my living room, kids playroom area, master bedroom, daughter's bedroom, and son's nursery- all of which needed to be complete before my son's birth. She took the time to study our existing pieces, understand what we were trying to achieve and came back with absolute magic that worked within our budget! On top of all of that, she was so much fun to work with and be around, and very open to collaborating. She has a knack for mixing vintage and new, pattern and color, and a little bit of quirky drama to make a unique space that you are proud and happy to come home to. She is very resourceful and great at making your budget go far. Hiring Lauren was one of the best decisions we made after purchasing our home- she is a true creative and professional.

Lauren (Studio Sven) in is the BEST designer! She was truly skilled at internalizing our taste and style, creating a beautiful design and then translating that design into a masterpiece. Lauren took the time to understand our needs, coordinated/managed all the trades needed, and was always available. Our home now has the polished yet comfortable feel that we always wanted, and we've received many compliments from our guests. Lauren is a pleasure to work with and makes the whole experience relaxing and fun. I HIGHLY recommend Lauren - Studio Sven!

I started working with Lauren at Studio Sven the day we bought our house. It was a new build, but needed some color and character to make it a home. She designed every room and I couldn’t be happier. Lauren is very creative and has a talent for mixing prints and color. The result is sophisticated, but still comfortable and fun. I love design too and Lauren was open to my collaboration. She took my ideas and made them better. I would absolutely hire her again.

Lauren helped us finish our entire first floor. She worked with what we had and added amazing, complimenting furniture, art, and accessories. She listened to us and incorporated our personalities into a finished design that was beautiful, functional, and within our budget. She was wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend her.
