We worked with Stephen on three projects. 1. Redecorated a 1970s ranch style house to make it comfortable until we could do a full remodel. 2. Redecorated a large condo in Steamboat Springs. We had an excellent return on this investment which I attribute to the wonderful ambiance created by Stephen. 3. Tear down to the foundation and rebuild of a larger home. Stephen was responsible for all colors, materials, design, decorating, custom furniture, etc inside and out on the entire project which lasted over a year. We will always consult Stephen for any design project we do. He has learned our style and puts great options together, minimizing the time we must spend searching for the right selections. The Design Center is overwhelming to me, and I appreciate Stephen's willingness to do the hard work so I only have to look at a few choices to make a final decision. He is great at developing a budget and advising on where to go less expensive and where to spend a bit more. I highly recommend Stephen for your design and furniture needs.

Several years ago, there was a show on HGTV called, "Designing for the Sexes". The show's focus was for the designer, Michael, to successfully blend the male and female tastes of each show's featured home owners, and create a nicely finished room. My husband and I really enjoyed this show, and after we moved into our new home, we often said that we needed a "Michael" to help us make sense of our new, much larger space. At about that time, the Denver Design Center had a program where they would help a homeowner select a designer by interviewing you to help determine your personal tastes in style. Based on this information, three designers were selected - all were very good - and after interviewing each one, I chose Stephen. Turns out, it was the best choice I could have made. After working with him for the past 5 years, I can honestly say that he is every bit the designer we had hoped for. He is highly competent, hardworking, extremely detail oriented, truly takes the time to get to know one's tastes, and very, very patient. He is also willing to work with what you already have and blending in new components, without any pressure to buy new. He has helped stage many of the rooms in our home using what we already have. He has also helped us select all of our area rugs, many new furniture pieces, fixtures, and decorating accessories. Along with color and style, he also understands architecture, which is important when you want your decor to work with the style of your home. Stephen is always on time, he's upbeat, and very fun to work with -- he truly loves what he does and makes you feel like you are his only client. Finally, he is one of the finest people you would ever hope to meet. I highly recommend Stephen for any kind of design problem you may have -- he will be able to handle it and you'll enjoy the process!

Stephen was fantastic - he incorporated our ideas into workable and super tasteful choices for our kitchen remodel. He accompanied us several times to great designer places and made the process fun and satisfying, instead of stressful, and very successful as to outcome. We feel we obtained very good value, and a pleasant experience, for his design fee. The budgeting and billing process was professional. He also found a contractor that did skilled work with the kitchen cabinets.

Stephen is a true professional. He was organized, timely, knowledgeable. He knew how to coordinate a small re-do of a 10 year old redone kitchen, and a remodel of a powder room. Both turned out elegant and fit with the flow of the home. He was a delight to work with, and we will use him again.
