Carrie is highly professional, warm and easy-to-work with. She listened carefully when we explained our needs and concerns; what worked—and what didn’t—in our current kitchen. Carrie’s design reflected a clear grasp of what we were trying to achieve and was an exceptionally effective, efficient, and beautiful use of space. We would not have thought of the solution Carrie came up with if we had tried to design the kitchen ourselves. She is a strong, thoughtful and knowledgeable designer. Carrie responded to us quickly when we needed to be in touch and was always available for questions. And, she provided clear and accurate information about options and costs with no pressure to make any particular decision. Finally, Carrie provided much appreciated ‘value added’ service by helping us make materials and colour choices for the floor, counter tops, hardware, back splash, and paint colour. There is no doubt that Carrie’s advice steered us away from some potential choices that would not have achieved what we wanted. Thanks to Carrie we are so happy with our absolutely lovely new kitchen. We are looking forward to enjoying it with our family and friends for many years.

I really enjoyed working with Carrie. I had a small kitchen and bathroom in a small 1940s that were totally gutted and re-done. Carrie was quick to figure out my tastes and provide expert guidance (and reassurance) about my choices. I found some of the choices overwhelming and she was great helping me see how things fit together. Even though my reno was a relatively small job (tiny kitchen and bathroom), I was never treated like a small job and I appreciated that.

I have worked with Carrie on two major kitchen overhauls and in both she delivered beyond our expectations. Carrie is efficient, thoughtful, extremely organized, and well versed in designing different kitchens to suit the unique style of the house. She has a keen eye for detail, considers neighbourhood/style of house, floorplan, room orientation, use of space: basically considering every facet of the project from start to completion. I felt she really understood how a kitchen should function: delivering an efficient kitchen with many thoughtful ideas that were also visually appealing. Above everything, Carrie listens and always wants the best result for her client-something that doesn't always cost more. Carrie worked within our budget and found ways to accomplish our goals without necessarily costing more, which added great value to our projects. She is versatile and adept at knowing what is on trend and what will look dated in a few months or years. Basically, she just has good taste and is a good person which translates to her work. I look forward to working with Carrie again!

Carrie was recommended by a friend who had recently finished a kitchen renovation, so we contacted her to work with us on our kitchen reno. It became quite evident that she has a thorough knowledge of kitchen design and functionality. She is a great listener and offered us various options to fulfill our vision, as well as some very creative ideas of her own that we utilized in the design. She was very patient and considered every detail of the project and did not try to rush us to completion until we were totally satisfied with the design presented. Our kitchen was completed on budget, and we are extremely happy with the results.

Carrie is a true gem, with a wealth of experience, a positive, friendly approach and an eye for detail. She is meticulous with ensuring you have thought about every aspect. She is very gentle with redirection, which I needed at times, and open to all my ideas. Although we are still only in the beginning stages of our renovation, I would highly recommend, Carrie and Urbana for any renovation. Sheila

In my experience renovations can be exhausting both mentally and financially but, somehow Carrie managed to make the process both pleasant and rewarding. One the worse customer service we ever experience in Victoria. They were very nice until the contract was signed! It took over 3 months to get our kitchen finish they had wrong cuts 3 times!!! . The designer NEVER contacted us or offer any help. We were left alone to make all the designs choices for the kitchen. When we tried to get help, we were told that she was on holiday and that nobody else could help. To this day, we never heard back from her. Since we could not believe it we called the store and were told that everything was normal since we had a contractor installing our kitchen and the designer had contacted him to talk about the issues. No apologies for the poor service and no recognition of any responsibility. The help of a designer was just a fake. We went there to be help and never got any. I would never use them again

Hello Huguette.
This review as well as the other four reviews you have left on various media sites have all come at somewhat of a surprise as I have not had any call or response from you since the time of your kitchen order despite my efforts. The only contact we have received from your household has been from your husband the two times he called directly to our scheduling staff, which as I’m sure you know was quite verbally abusive towards us.
In terms of the service you were given I provided you with initial design concepts, which turned in to final kitchen plans, including working drawings and finish selections for your kitchen. You did not contract us to do your countertops or cabinet installation so I cannot comment on how that went for you. We certainly do regret and have apologized for your island back panel coming the wrong size, and we did not hesitate to make sure that it was replaced as soon as possible. Even the oven cabinet which was damaged on site by someone other than Urbana, we replaced free of charge as goodwill to your project. We do our best to get things right the first time as we want all of our clients whether they choose to have us install their kitchens or not to have the best experience they can as they go through what is no doubt a stressful time. I can understand your frustration with the panel being incorrect and reordered and the time this added to your project. I encourage you to contact Urbana’s owners should you want to talk further about this. In terms of the design service that you feel you did not get, I had called and left messages trying to get a hold of you by phone, and also emailed without a response from you to discuss these issues as well as offer any other assistance, after many failed attempts without a call back to me, I connected with your contractor to make sure that he was aware of what was going on as it seemed you were not available. I wish you would have called me directly, or returned my emails so that I would have had an opportunity to talk to you myself. As you may be able to tell by all of our positive reviews, our number one goal is customer service and if you do not feel that you received this I am truly sorry.

Carrie was so competent and professional when working on our kitchen renovation. She also designed an entertainment centre for our living room and some storage/wardrobe cabinets for our Master bedroom. Carrie was able to take a space where we couldn't imagine a solution for and transform it into a beautiful, functioning kitchen that we are so happy with. We would recommend her to anyone for any design job without hesitation.

Urbana recommended Carrie Mills as a consultant to assist with the design, function and coordination of a complete kitchen makeover in my condominium. I had always wanted a contemporary white Italian kitchen. Carrie successfully made all my dreams come true by consistently remaining conscious of my budget well highlighting many artistic details.
