I think most of my clients consensus would be that an equal double bowl gives you two medium sinks which are not really good for much. Unless you do all of your dishes by hand, then you have a wash and dry side.

The benefit the sink and a half gives is the one larger sink that can fit a roasting pan or wok, and a smaller vegetable prep sink or space for dumping out liquids while someone may be in the larger sink washing up. The ideal split would be a 60/40. With some of the 70/30 splits the small sink is just too small for even vegetable prep.
