We brought in Dimitry and his team to replace a deck, underlying garage roof, and major portions of garage front. Dimitry's communication, creativity, and professionalism were outstanding from start to finish. He patiently worked with us as we considered a variety of options and helped guide us to sound selections. I was especially appreciative of his considerate and hardworking crew. We could not be happier with process or end results.

We had Dimitry Doronkin of Zen Construction simultaneously work on 2 major projects for us. The first was an unexpected kitchen renovation due to a pinhole leak in a hot water pipe which was spraying under the subfloor for a few weeks. Dimitry made sure that he knew exactly what the scope of the job would entail before he gave us an estimate. That meant stopping by a second time after the remediation company removed drywall with asbestos and tile that had lead. No unexpected charges as a result. The second was an unplanned master bathroom remodel due to dry rot underneath the floor and wall shower tile. Both projects included a complete gutting to the studs and moving of electrical. The estimates Dimitry gave for both jobs were extremely competitive. He is very knowledgeable and cares equally about the big and small things. The work he and his guys do is excellent. One thing that I especially liked and appreciated was Dimitry’s availability and his immediate return of my texts and/or phone calls. His workers were on the job every day! I would recommend Dimitry and Zen Construction to anyone. If I have another project in the future, I would not hesitate to have him do the job.

I had a wonderful experience working with Dimitry and his crew at Zen Construction. I hired them to do quite a large job. I was doing extensive repairs on a house that had been neglected for many years and they did almost everything including replacing siding, repairing framing, building and repairing decks, installing doors and windows, rewiring electricity, installing lights, removing mold, retiling a bathroom and more. I got estimates from five contractors before choosing Zen Construction. In terms of cost, they were right in the middle and they stayed true to the estimate. Working with Dimitry was SO easy! He is extremely considerate and took all my requests and concerns very seriously, and even went above and beyond by sending video clips when I wasn’t in town. His crew worked steadily and consistently and were very detail oriented, which was a relief, especially for the period of time when I was not available to supervise. They also occasionally came to work on the weekend in order to stay on schedule. I was also grateful for Dimitry’s excellent problem-solving skills; whenever a unique problem on the house required a creative solution, Dimitry always thought very carefully about it and came up with a perfect, tailor-made fix. Because the house is so old and quirky, this was a huge asset. I felt like I could trust him to handle anything. And if there was something he didn’t feel equipped to do, like certain kinds of masonry or specific roofing needs, he told me. He was always very honest and open and this made communication a breeze. Not only is the house sturdy and sound and beautiful now, working with Dimitry and his crew was also a lot of fun – something I never thought I’d experience when starting such a large-scope project. I couldn’t be happier.

I was not looking forward to having my old deck replaced but luckily I found Zen Construction! Dimitry and his crew exceeded my expectations in creating my new deck. From the bidding process, my initial meeting with Dimitry, the demolition of the old rotting deck, the design process to the finished product, I was highly satisfied!! Dimitry checked in daily to view the progress and was always available to answer any questions I may have had. His crew was polite, on time, neat and a pleasure to work with. His prices were competitive but Dimitry’s customer centric approach is what made him stand out. He is extremely knowledgeable of his trade, approachable and takes immense pride in the end result. Dimitry’s suggestions were spot on and the finished deck is better than I had envisioned. I would recommend Zen Construction without hesitation and plan on using Dimitry and his team for future work on my home.
