Division 1 Moving & Storage

I was disappointed in my experience given all the positive reviews and wanted to share for others a word of caution. I was initially impressed as came out and provided reasonable quote. Had been worried about the move due to the weather, but unfortunately there were no other immediate days around and I didn’t have a lot of flexibility to change. The movers seemed to try hard and worked quickly, unfortunately there was damage to both my front door frame and two pieces of furniture. When I followed up they said typically they don’t cover exterior damage, but just this once would make an exception and provide a $40 credit. Then with the two pieces of furniture they said I elected the basic insurance even though I don’t remember a discussion, the insurance provides $0.60 coverage for damage per pound estimated so altogether got a credit of $160. I am paying $200 for repair of the furniture and will need to see how much the door will cost. I encourage people to ask about the insurance policy and note had three major items damaged during the move. They were adequate, but can’t give a strong recommendation. Edit to reply: I feel the need to reply to the response by the company. After following up on the review and offering to help find a way to remedy our door they never followed up or followed through. Additionally, they said they provided extra support and at no cost, what actually happened is extra support was provided and then they tried to bill that without any communication prior and only when confronted was I offered the option to not be charged. There are other companies that I have had better experiences with and encourage people to look elsewhere. In fact the gentleman who repaired our furniture says he contracts with over 50 moving companies to address when damage happens, this company is not one and seem to dismiss problems or concerns.

I helped to oversee D1 do a HUGE move for an important client - in a snow storm - and during COVID! The entire team, led by James (Jake) Harrison and his on-site supervisor John, were super hard workers, paid attention to the complications of the furniture and boxes going in 5 different directions, and honored wearing their masks. These movers were absolutely wonderful, so impressed! They arrived on time, were so polite, and wow did they work harder than they thought they would have to! We had 2 pieces of furniture that had to get in the basement and it was a nightmare. They had to remove a staircase, and it took 2 hours to get these 2 pieces in. The crew didn't complain ONE time and assured me they would get the job done no matter what and they did! Absolutely WONDERFUL crew, very affordable rate, highly recommend and would use for any moving job again!

Jake and his crew at D1 did an outstanding job from start to finish and beyond. Clear communication with me and each other, punctuality, care of my belongings, even taking responsibility for errors made by others discovered a month after the actual move. They were dedicated to making my move go as well as possible demonstrated by putting in time to put my complicated platform back together perfectly. They went above and beyond what other movers usually do. I recommend them highly.

D1 Moving was recommended to me by a close friend after I complained about being mail bombed by the large moving companies after listing my home for sale. I have only heard horror stories from friends & family about the large moving companies. Staff with D1 showed up early, worked hard and fast, were polite and took very good care of my furniture. I would highly recommend their services!

We had an excellent experience. It was a very professional and extremely hardworking crew. They all had great attitudes - lots of steps moving from our home to a TH with more steps.

I used D1 Moving to move furniture and items to a storage facility. The company is very professional and well-run, and the movers were polite, efficient, and hardworking. We will use them to move our items out of storage and into our new place. Great value. I strongly recommend this company.
