Cleft Painting

We have used Cleft for every painting project we have had in the two different houses we have owned since moving to Seattle in 1999. Having painted over 30 houses myself in my college days I understand what it takes to do a high quality job. I rank Cleft the best of the best. The first project in 2005 was a complete exterior restoration of a 1929 house. The exterior cedar clapboard siding had bubbled, peeled and been painted over multiple times. It was a peeling, bubbling mess when we bought the house. Their prep work was as good as it gets - sanding, patching, priming until they had it perfect for the finish coat. (2 photos attached) The finish coats were applied meticulously with clean tight edges. I was blown away by the result - this old siding looked brand new. On top of all of this, the crew was clean and considerate of all of our landscaping. Proof of their outstanding work is the fact that the house, here in wet Seattle, hasn't needed repainting in the 11 years since - no bubbles, no peeling. So pleased was I with this work that we have gone on to use them for 6 other interior jobs - a bathroom, a basement, 3 bedrooms, including a custom nursery with vertical orange/blue stripes, in that same old house; and then a bathroom, foyer, custom toddler room with horizontal accent stripes (photo attached), and library in our newer current house. Of particular note on the interior jobs, beyond the aforementioned meticulous prep, finish work, and cleanliness, was Bryce's (the owner) ability to match color and wall texture and to provide guidance on color choices. He has an experienced eye for interior color tones and knows everything there is to know about textured surfaces. This is particularly important when working with old homes when some walls are drywall and some may still be lathe/plaster. I can't say enough good about Cleft. This brother pair of Bryce (Owner, project lead) and Brett (Crew lead) has the painting business down cold.

We've had Cleft Painting work on two projects for us - our kitchen and our bathroom - and both were great experiences. The finished product is beautifully and meticulously painted. Our kitchen remodel involved painting our old 80's oak cabinets, and they look brand new, even two years later. We highly recommend Cleft.
