Commented: Space underneath windowYou can always do a bench but I think leaving it as it is will be fine, possibly get some decorative curtain hooks on the sides of the walls to pull the curtains back for a different aesthetic.

Commented: window trim colorsIt is completely up to you, as long as all of the trim in the house is matching. There is Navajo white for a nice white/cream color from Ben Moore that I did at clients house and she loved it!
