This review is long overdue. We are extremely happy with the results of our remodel with USI design almost a year ago. We completely remodeled the first floor of our dated home in southlake. Now at almost one year living in our remodeled home, we have not had any issues with the construction. We remodeled the kitchen, dining space, living room, office, master bedroom and master bath and powder room. He was referred by a friend and upon our first meeting, we knew he was the right fit for us. He is extremely personable, responsive and collaborative with the entire process. He has an excellent eye for layout and design and product recommendations He was on site several times a week and always seemed available for questions/concerns. Although he has several projects, he made us feel like we were his only clients throughout the process. His team was top notch and very respectful (esp as we lived on the second floor during the remodel). In particular, his fabricator was amazing. The timeline was kept mostly on schedule and did not go above agreed budget. Our home feels custom made and i am glad we decided to remodel rather than move to a newer home. We just finished an entire first floor remodel of our home (kitchen, 2 bathrooms, all new flooring, moving walls, fireplaces, etc) and are extremely happy with the job that USI did over almost 6 months. They finished on time and the whole process was smooth and actually fun! Gordon and Chris were an absolute pleasure to work with and were wonderful about listening to our needs, wants and helping us create a vision that was better than we could have ever imagined on our own. The way they were able to seamlessly execute our vision (on time and on budget) made us think they were magicians! And on top of that they did it all with a smile and positive attitude. Chris and Gordon had great relationships with everyone that worked in our home, and were involved every day and every step of the way. No days were wasted, we had people working efficiently every day- there were no lulls or lapses with no work being done. Their sense of urgency and organization was so impressive and greatly appreciated. We lived upstairs during the entire remodel process with our young kids and they were supportive and helpful making sure our life was not interrupted and that the crews always kept a clean workspace. We had friends visit that had been thru remodels and they could not believe how clean and safe our home looked during the process and that's just an example of the high standards and people that Chris and Gordon work with. We would recommend USI remodeling again and again and will always use them in the future. We had heard horror stories about remodeling and had been dragging our feet on getting started and looking back using USI we had absolutely nothing to worry about. When our dream of a new mountain modern home in Colorado collided with the realities of the pandemic supply chain, we embarked on a remodel of our current home. Major goals were to open it up for entertaining and push our traditional home as close as possible toward a clean, modern aesthetic. Our kitchen not only looks great but is very functional. The fireplace and bar turned out well with the right amount of drama. The staircase echoes the feel of the other elements. A project this size always hits a few unexpected issues. Whenever that happened, the issue was quickly resolved. As one can see from the photos, it turned out beautifully. While Chris was unable to deliver a view of the mountains (haha), we really love living here!

This review might be longer than most, but I believe a brief account wouldn't capture the entirety of our journey with Chris and USI. After meeting with several firms, it was clear that they're not all on the same level. Chris from USI stood out. His grasp on luxury remodels shone during our interactions. He even showed us a home he'd renovated just two miles away, witnessing the impeccable work and speaking to the satisfied homeowners sealed the deal. Despite COVID-19's disruptions, Chris ensured our renovation kept its pace, navigating the supply chain challenges. With our busy schedules, the idea of overseeing multiple contractors was overwhelming. That's why we chose USI. Chris acted as a guide, understanding our needs, sometimes even before we articulated them. One memorable instance was his choice of marble for our kitchen. The piece, reminiscent of seafoam waves, seemed plucked right from my dream home. I often chuckle when watching cooking shows, genuinely feeling my new kitchen outshines many of theirs. Our initial kitchen was far from ideal: depressing colors, an awkward layout, and deficient storage. But with Chris and his team, its issues became design opportunities. The once-troublesome wall now flaunts our wine column flanked by the paneled column fridge and freezer. Family cookouts have turned into delightful experiences, with our new layout accommodating everyone. Our pool bath, once gloomy and unwelcoming, has been transformed into a luminous sanctuary. The transformation wasn't restricted to these areas. Our living space, dining area, laundry, and staircase also got a makeover. The Craftsman-themed staircase is a highlight, tying all spaces together seamlessly. Kudos to Hugo, a member of Chris's team. His craftsmanship aligns with Chris's dedication to excellence. It's evident Chris works with only the best. Aesthetically, we desired a twist on the classic Craftsman. With Chris's insights, we've blended cool blues, greens, whites, and greys to craft a home that feels undeniably “us” yet retains a timeless charm.

Chris was so wonderful to work with. He always had such a calm demeanor that kept what could have been a very stressful process feeling very orderly. He had wonderful design ideas that fit really well with our vision for our home and we could not be more delighted with the results. He was really good at having a balance between suggesting ideas and helping me decide what I wanted. (I wanted to be quite involved in the selection, even of the details, and he was very supportive of that.) We were also really impressed that he was able to complete the project in a very short timeframe due to our moving dates. All the contractors who worked on the project were lovely and trustworthy people and we felt quite comfortable with them being in our home. Our whole home was remodeled except for the master shower and tub. We had USI come back out last fall to do those final two parts and our master bathroom feels like a relaxing spa now. Overall, Chris was able to capture the relaxing coastal feeling we wanted in our home and keep the project on budget. Our home feels perfect now.

Chris and Gordon with USI are a pleasure to work with. They did an amazing job renovating our kitchen. This is my dream kitchen and it is as functional as it is beautiful. I highly recommend the team at USI.

Chris Chumbley and USI Remodeling did a major complete kitchen remodel for us this year. From design to completion, USI did an amazing job! We wanted a complete new look with a ton more storage space and got exactly what we asked for. USI assisted in all aspects of the design and selection of materials. Demo took the kitchen down to the studs and all aspects of construction ensued. We have never had a contractor do so much to protect the job site from dust and dirt during the process. They kept the site as clean as possible throughout the process. All contractors were respectful and great to live around while they did their work! The final result exceeded our grandest expectations. We would highly recommend USI Remodeling for any of your remodeling needs.

USI did an incredible job on our home remodeling project which included a full tear out and redesign of our old kitchen, laundry room, mud room, casual living room, office, and bathroom. The process was very smooth and ahead of schedule. We are very pleased with the quality of construction, and their attention to detail. Overall, the outcome exceeded our expectations. Two Happy Customers & One Amazing Remodel Our home of 25 years had grown a bit dated, and we decided it was time for a refresh. In looking for a design and remodel firm, my husband and I wanted a team we could trust throughout the process to provide the proper architectural details and quality workmanship. Houzz had many companies listed for our area, but only one had the superior reviews and project photos that we were looking for: USI Design & Remodeling. And can I just say…we feel very fortunate to have selected Chris and Gordon to work on our home updates. Both Chris and Gordon are excellent listeners and take the time to understand exactly what you hope to achieve. They willingly share their time, vision, and expertise to ensure that your goals are met (if not surpassed, as was in our case). Our kitchen was totally redesigned, which resulted in a very beautiful and exceptionally functional space. We love it! The butler’s pantry and laundry room were updated from ordinary to special, and the family room fireplace and adjacent cabinets were modernized nicely. The surprise star was the guest bathroom, which was transformed from builder 1997 bathroom to 2022 marble beauty! Who knew it could look so nice? From beginning design meetings and selections, to demo/construction and clean up, each step of the way reflected the quality that USI expects of themselves and their subcontractors. Both Chris and Gordon are so very skilled at what they do - and that skill combined with their desire to produce a great result was a huge win for us. Without question, we would hire USI Design & Remodeling for any future remodel needs.
