I accepted Cobblestone's quote even though it was on the high side because the salesperson sold me on their understanding of my vision and ability to execute on it. My house is a historic landmark and I wanted the work to match the style and craftsmanship of the original work in the house. I'm left with a frustrating choice; do I live with all the issues Cobblestone created that could have easily been avoided if done right the first time, or do I hire a competent contractor to fix their mistakes spending thousands more? - salesperson/designer/project manager disappeared halfway through the project and Cobblestone didn't assign anyone else to the project. I was working directly with subs. - in a room in which they installed 3 windows next to each other one was installed 3/4 inch higher than the others and it shows - another window is noticeably out of plumb - I requested oak to match the existing wood in the house and they ordered pine - the first set of windows ordered were incorrect which set the project back months. I was told I would be able to keep the incorrect windows (which would have fit in other places in my house) but the subs took them. - the door was installed improperly and only opens 90 degrees instead of 180 degrees which causes flow issues now. The salesperson sold me that they'd be able to install it to open 180 degrees but the subs took shortcuts and when I complained didn't fix the problem. - trim work was rushed and rough with corners not meeting up well, gaps, not aligned with existing trim. Generally the they used work-arounds and shortcuts whenever possible instead of doing things the right way. Cobblestone certainly sold me on being a great design/build company but delivered a quick, sloppy job.

Cobblestone just completed my kitchen remodel. I’m very happy with the results. Jennifer and Jeff are very professional and had great ideas without breaking the budget. The crew was also great and stuck to the schedule, they were all Professional and respectful. Would definitely use them again.

We had a great experience working with Jennifer from Cobblestone. She has a great eye for design and she took a lot of details off our plate. The job was done on time and the workers were a lot of fun having in our home. We couldn't be happier.

Cobblestone was willing to take on our smaller project which included redoing floors and a kitchen remodel, however be aware that quality, care and attention will be lacking consequently with smaller-budget projects. If working with Jennifer you may want to consider hiring a third party designer or outside consultant to double-check her renderings, proposals, and to review project plans often, unless you have many extra hours to spend on it. We had obvious errors in our drawings that caused much confusion regarding hardware parts and cabinet layout; wrong cabinets and parts were ordered then not realized until months later. The company seemed disorganized with communication and overall timeline, and we were billed for items that were already included in the original contract, so then we had to go back over everything to receive credits. At various points we ended up removing certain line items of the original proposal because the project kept dragging on and they could not be trusted to complete in a thorough or timely fashion or do a good job any longer. We signed our proposal on Nov 30 and did not have our final walkthrough until late March. Be prepared to spend a lot of your own time to manage your project even if you hire Cobblestone as your general contractor at a premium.

Complete tear down and remodel of master bathroom. The project manager, Jen is phenomenal! She paid attention to every detail. She responded immediately to my emails, texts or calls. The workers were so polite. Their work is beautiful! Henry was the lead worker. They were very neat! Cleaned everything up. Finished right on schedule!

Excellent work! We are extremely happy with our new kitchen. Jennifer and Miguel were very helpful and gave us good decorating advice. The work crew was friendly, on time, and cleaned up each day. Project was completed at the price we were quoted. We were so pleased with their work that we would hire them again.

My husband and I selected Cobblestone to remodel the main bathroom in our Chicago townhouse. Jennifer, our designer and project manager, was incredible. After understanding our style, she selected the perfect tiles, fixtures, tub, and vanity. Her impeccable eye for design and functionality transformed our drab bath into a beautiful oasis for our family. She went above and beyond with communication throughout the project. While we stayed in an Airbnb during the project, the few times we met the construction team and tile experts, they were very professional. The work speaks for itself — everything is now perfect. We would hire Cobblestone again.

Cobblestone Development was my contractor for a renovation loan on my three unit building. I had extensive work done which included upgrading electrical, new windows on two floors, HVAC in one unit, refinishing floors on two units and installation of a new kitchen among other things. The reason I would recommend Cobblestone is especially because of Bill Conforti, the owner of Cobblestone Development. Bill stands by the work done by his people. He made a point of contacting me after the initial bid to introduce himself and ask for my business. While not involved in the day to day, if there were concerns Bill came out to look and make sure I was happy with the final work. Bill also had an office member touch base with me weekly to discuss progress and see if I had any questions or concerns. It’s stressful to have so much work done especially when one is new to the process. Bill and the people at Cobblestone made every effort to assist me in understanding the process. The work was done well and at a fair price.

These guys are fantastic and I would definitely recommend them to others and absolutely use them again. The project was a total face lift for our house and main living area. The front end marketing/sales team was great to work with and was consultative in nature, listened to our opinions and gave good suggestions. My wife and I particularly enjoyed working with the carpenter that did the actual project (Fireplace + bookshelf). His work was spectacular and the best part was he was a really nice guy that you could tell deeply cared about his work. He said and I believe that their team works on their clients house as if it were their own. They earned a lifelong client through this project.

It is with great excitement to recommend Cobblestone Development with the services that they provided. Our condo association spent numerous time trying to find a remodeling company to assist us with some renovations on our building. After discussing the situation with other contractors, we came acrossed Cobblestone Development who exceeded our expectations! Definitely recommend them for any project that you may have.

We love Cobblestone Development because they turned a blank wall into an amazing fireplace and bookshelf staple that all our guests love. They were did a custom look for a great price. There was never a moment that I was worried about them being in our house or even leaving a key for them. They were very trustworthy and made our house fabulous!
