It is very difficult to find someone who is talented and also, works well with you. I have high expectations for the place that I will call home. I am not ideal because I will,not rubber stamp someone else’s choice. I have worked with many interior designers in different homes and Marylin is by far the best.

I hired Marilyn Kolesar from Mjk Design to design a guest room and my formal living room. Marilyn's designs were fresh, unique and truly captured what I was looking for to update those rooms in my home. Marilyn was lovely work with. She listened to what I needed yet helped me to expand the vision I originally had. Marilyn has wonderful taste and helped me to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for my home. We will definitely use her again for our future home projects and highly recommend her for your.

Thanks to Houzz, I had a ton of ideas for our new house. I just had no ability to pull them all together! Marilyn is fabulous. She has a great eye for the entire project and picks out beautiful things while keeping the budget in mind. She has the perfect combination of creativity, sense of style, and organizational skill to keep the project on task. She took our house from average to wow!

Mjk Design helped design a bath remodel along with flooring and painting "updates" for other parts of my house. Marilyn has an exceptional eye for color and the rare skill of artistic ability combined with draftsmanship. She listened to all of my needs/wants for the project, drew up plans, helped choose materials and colors and communicated with me and the contractor regularly. She was respectful of my budget and always responsive to my calls/emails.

MJK Design was just right in everyway! Marilyn was extremely knowledgeable about everything I needed to know about and so helpful in making selections so she could get my project finished on schedule. Everything was done in a timely manner, Marilyn went out of her way to accommodate my schedule, she was gracious in every way. The room she did is stunning thanks to this talented design firm.

I hired MJK design to create my art studio and am so thrilled with the end result ! This space needed to be functional , beautiful , and indestructable all the while in a mere 400 square feet. The design challenges were many ranging from a boring cookie cutter empty space to no usable storage for my very large collection of books , completed and unfinished paintings , sculptures , and supplies. Most of all I required a place were I could be inspired and work efficiently. From the beginning of the project Marilyn understood the unique needs for this type of environment and the final result was amazing ! The design included beautiful built in storage with a fine furniture aesthetic, natural stone floors, venetian plaster walls , and a bit of glam in lighting and functional fixtures . It is an artists dream and continues to be my muse every day . I highly recommend Marilyn for your next design project.

We used Mjk Design for two remodel projects. We were very pleased with our partnership with Marilyn. She listened carefully to our project goals and translated those into wonderful designs. She also helped with interior design issues. Her sense of light and color is excellent. There were several instances when I changed the wall color she suggested and always went back to her suggestions. Working with Marilyn was fun. She listened, made suggestions but did not impose her thoughts or feelings on the projects. She conscientiously supervised each project and worked well with the contractors. I

Marilyn did a great job for us on our home remodel. She had very good ideas, provided them in a timely manner, and didn't overwhelm us with details. She worked within our budget. She was a good arbitraror between my husband and myself. Our house turned out beautifully.

Marilyn assisted us in the renovation of both of our homes. Both renovations required significant restructure of the inside of the homes as well as complete re-design. Marilyn was very respectful of our tastes and budget. We loved our previous home and are thrilled with this one. We are enjoying a comfortable living space with lots of nice touches that make it truly ours. Marilyn also has been helpful post-project with added design, color and other consultations. She is a treat to work with!

Marilyn has decorated my house several times, I like change! She's always open to my ideas for my "new look," and puts it together perfectly. She's also very aware of price points and never has an attitude about price. Her rates are reasonable, you end up saving money in the end really, and she's super responsive. If course she's creative and has great ideas. I have other friends who use her and our tadtes couldn't be more divergent yet we both have perfectly designed houses in our styles. I really enjoy working with Marilyn and highly recommend her.
