I had the privilege of working with Edgewater Design Group to create and design my dream home. They knocked it out of the park! A wonderful group to work with from start to finish!

When we were looking for a partner to help us with designing our "forever" home, we started by narrowing the field of architects to two and then interviewing both. Because of Stephanie's approach to the process and her ability to communicate in a way that made us feel she understood our vision, we came to the conclusion she was the definitely the choice for us. She and her team were able to deliver a design that encapsulated everything we were looking to accomplish. Her services in helping us to request bids from contractors that would be able to successfully deliver the project and then interview those contractors before making our choice in builder was equally valuable to us and we highly recommend. We are so excited as we watch our dream becoming reality through an outstanding builder we respect and trust solidifying for us that the decision to hire Stephanie and Edgewater Design was the right one! We highly recommend them!

Our family had been taking several summer Vacations in the Petoskey area over many years. We had been looking at existing cottages to purchase , but could not find what we were looking for. Then we decided to purchase a lot to build our own cottage on local lake , then we chose our builder. We had been looking at local architects via the web and talking to locals. Our builder had completed several projects alongside Edgewater designs and shared the great experiences that he and his customers have had with Edgewater. After personally interviewing Edgewater Design Group and another local architect our decision to chose Edgewater Design Group was an easy one. We met with Stephanie B. to find out what our next step should be. She explained the whole process in a way that did not feel overwhelming. She asked us several questions to help her understand what we wanted in a cottage. We needed a place that felt cozy while allowing for large family / friend gatherings and overnight guests. She understood we wanted the warmth of a northern Michigan cottage , combined with rustic modern edge. Stephanie and her team helped us to create cottage that not only included all of our wants / needs, but it’s stunningly beautiful as well ! Our family enjoyed our first summer at the cottage and have an incredible amount of gratitude to Edgewater Design Group for partnering with us on this project. We were quoted a financial cost estimate range to build our cottage and we were very happy the final total stayed well within the estimate range. This was the first time that we had ever built a home and quickly realized that the process requires a team effort. We are so happy we chose Edgewater to team up with us. We have never worked with a company that responds so quickly to any questions / ideas. The office manager ( Lindsey B. ) works at lighting speed at returning emails / calls. When I purchased a home in Harbor Springs in the spring of 2018, I knew it would need a substantial overhaul, and that I would be hard pressed to come up with a design on my own. My realtor recommended both a contractor and a designer for me to work with and it made all the difference. When I first met with Stephanie Baldwin of Edgewater Design it was at the house soon after the purchase had been completed, and she agreed that the work I envisioned would be substantial; however, she agreed with a twinkle in her eye and with unbounded confidence that together we would make this home comfortable, welcoming, and eye-catching, and we would do it within my budget. It helped too that I felt from the beginning that we were on the same wavelength, and that feeling persisted from start to finish. What I liked and respected about working with Stephanie from the get go was that she listened to me, and she listened to the contractor with whom she had worked effectively in the past. She listened to what I wanted, and the design that emerged was a creative reflection of what I had expressed in synch with what the contractor felt would be affordable with the goal of making this home sparkle. I believe that the key to an effective partnership between a buyer and a designer is the latter’s willingness to create a design that reflects what the buyer is expressing rather than simply what the designer would do on her own. Yes, there were numerous times that I would ask Stephanie for her thoughts and suggestions, but she would wait until I asked and then she would offer her opinions with a focus on the overall design that I had outlined in the beginning – there was always that focus with an eye on the budget and the timeline. The renovation took several months as expected, and throughout that time Stephanie and her associates met with me both on site and in their office to finalize details, consider options, choose from the myriad of choices that arose. From our initial meeting I had the utmost confidence in Stephanie and in her design. It was meticulous and creative, and when the renovation was complete I believe that she was as proud of what we had accomplished together as were the contractor and myself. Edgewater Design Group is great to work with, They have a strong team with great energy and very creative ideas. I worked with them on a very complicated remodel project and the solutions they came up with worked perfectly and the finished addition project looked like it had been there all along. the support during the project was amazing and they were never "too busy" to get back to me promptly. Our builder recommended we use Edgewater Design Group to draw up the plans for a remodel/addition to our lake house. We had a great experience with them. They made their part of the process pretty much stress free and were very fun to work with. Our project was a challenging one, but they did remarkably well. Edgewater design group designed our dream house. From beginning to end, the experience was superior. The project is now complete, and we are extremely happy with our new home. During the design process, the design team was highly professional, enthusiastic, insightful, and very easy to work with. They were passionate when trying understand our personal style as well as what we were looking for as far as function in a home. They asked questions and really listened to our answers. We were able to see our home develop as the plans went from lists, to paper sketches to a more comprehensive blueprint type sketch to a 3 dimensional computer design where we got a virtual tour and could make changes to things like roof lines and make additions/deletions if we wanted. At each meeting, the design team was very warm and receptive while welcoming any questions we had or changes we thought about making. The team also offered their professional advice and suggestions at all the right times. My Wife and I hired Edgewater Design to design our new home in Northern Michigan. We didn't have previous knowledge of their firm, we found them on the internet through their website. We felt comfortable and confident with Stephanie and her team after our first meeting and decided to hire them. They are very passionate about their work, they have great design ideas, and they have current technology to go through the drawings as they develop. We really enjoyed working with them, and think that their process, and finished product is really good!
