We just finished our third kitchen make over with Brakur Cabinets. Mike Wiles was our sales and design consultant for all our projects. Nine years ago, we set out to redesign our kitchen and replace the cabinets. We consulted with numerous cabinet shops and dealers and decided on Brakur. Mike was the only one willing and capable of offering a completely custom design. The kitchen turned out beautifully. We were so happy with the kitchen we had Mike and Brakur redo our Master Bathroom cabinetry. Five years ago, we had a home built in a gated community in Florida. Instead of spending the money for upgraded cabinets through the builder we had Mike design the kitchen cabinets. Brakur built the cabinets and we rented a truck and hauled them to Florida. The kitchen is modern, beautiful and unique from the other 1655 homes in the community. Since moving from Northern Illinois to Central Illinois, we had Brakur build cabinets for our master bathroom and have just finished remodeling our kitchen. Even though the kitchen is very large, this was a challenging project due to unusual shape and placement of doors and window. Mike came through for us again. Since Brakur manufactures each cabinet from scratch, they can build exactly what you want. Mike has many years experience and was very helpful providing options and in making recommendations to meet our desires. Mike was also great at communicating with frequent calls both during the build and installation. Mike is a great guy to work with! We highly recommend Brakur Cabinets and Mike Wiles to design your project.

What started out as a great experience has turned into a horrible nightmare. Mike W. was our sales guy. We did a complete re-model of our kitchen, wet bar, coffee bar & had them build a custom mantle. In 8 weeks the cabinets were built and delivered. We were impressed with the quick turnaround. Unfortunately, it all goes down hill from there. Upon arrival of our new cabinets-we quickly learned the pull out garbage can was not delivered. We contacted Mike about this immediately. He told us they were on back order due to Covid but assured us the pullout garbage can would be installed within the next few weeks. It’s been 5 months & we STILL don’t have our garage can. Every week we get a different story, from the work order is in & it will be completed by next week to we feel horrible about this experience & have issued you a $300 check for your inconvenience. No check & no garbage can! They even promised pull out drawers...don’t have those either. The mantle also showed up wrong-it does not fit & looks horrible. It’s a constant battle every week to just get what we paid for. 5 months later here we are. I did not want to give them a negative review-but again it’s been 5 months! I was holding out hope that they would do the right thing & just complete the job they were paid to do. Unfortunately it doesn’t look like that’s happening. Please spare yourself the extreme frustration & lack of customer service. If Brakur follows up & actually installs the garbage can & fixes the mantle-I would be more than happy to update this review.

Brakur Cabinets installed new bathroom and kitchen cabinets in 2015. The paint on the bathroom cabinets started peeling off in 2019 and they won’t repair them unless I pay for it. The bathroom cabinets in my last home lasted 20 years and still look fabulous as we now rent out the home. Cabinets should last more than 4 years. Bathroom cabinets should withstand steam from a shower with typical use. I would not recommend this company for your cabinets.

We recently built a new home and worked with Mitch from Brakur Custom Cabinetry. Mitch was very responsive to our questions, requests for changes to be made to our cabinet layout, and tweaks to the cabinet design. He has exceptional customer service and follow-up skills and puts the customer first. Our cabinets look terrific and you can tell they are well made. I would highly recommend Mitch and the Brakur team. You will not be disappointed.

We had an exceptional experience working with Brakur Custom Cabinetry as part of our kitchen remodel. We did a full gut kitchen remodel and one of the goals was to maximize our cabinet space. Our designer at Brakur (Andi) was extremely helpful throughout the entire project. She provided very creative ideas to maximize cabinet space while incorporating a variety of features such as a built-in cabinet door spice rack, knife drawer, etc. Andi was also very patient as we revised the cabinet layout a few times. The quality and craftsmanship of their cabinets is unmatched. Options such as soft close drawers and doors are standard with Brakur whereas these are considered 'upgrades' with other cabinet vendors. Their customer service was very helpful and responsive as two cabinets were damaged during the remodel by other contractors and Brakur promptly repaired and replaced the damaged cabinets at no additional cost. This is our second project with Brakur as we finished our basement 5 years ago and they provided all of the cabinets for that project as well. Since working with them 5+ years ago we have not had any issues, concerns or regrets and would highly recommend them for any new construction or remodeling cabinet needs.

The cabinets we ordered were constructed well in terms of the materials and hardware used. Unfortunately, one of the cabinets (master bathroom) was built different from the original drawing As a result, the middle cabinet of the vanity (above the vanity chair) was made so shallow that almost nothing can be placed in it - a comb fits, but not a brush, a toothbrush does not fit into it, only very small travel sizes of products will fit into it. All of items that had been stored in the original cabinet drawer could no longer fit into this new one, which measures half the depth. Unfortunately, Brakur did not notice this when they were making it, and we did not know this would be a problem until a very expensive limestone counter was installed onto it. In addition, the fake panels under the sinks take up 2/3's of the remaining space, so that, along with the shallow middle drawer, gives the unit a look over being out of proportion. I have asked them numerous times to come back and rebuild that section of the cabinet. Someone from the company even came out to look at it and said that it was possible to correct the problem. I have sent emails, telephone messages, and have talked on the phone to at least three different people including the original salesperson, design department, and the customer service manager. (My last phone call was not even returned.) One year later, the problem still remains. Needless to say, I am very disappointed that the cabinet was not built according to the drawings that were shown to me by the salesperson who wrote up the order. What makes it even worse, when I decided to purchase a new cabinet for this bathroom, I was hoping to get more space than I had in the previous one that was removed. Unfortunately after measuring this new one, taking into account the fake panels under the sinks and this shallow middle drawer, I now have less than 2/3 of the original space I had in the old one. Would I recommend this company to other neighbors? At this point, I'd have to say no, and I live in a sub-development in south Wheaton of 250+ homes built during the last 20 years ago - many of which are ready to be remodeled. I have already had three neighbors ask to see my remodel, and I have been hesitant to send them to Brakur because of my experience. As a single customer who went directly to them, I feel that I just don't matter to them and that they're hoping that given time, I'll give up trying to get this resolve and just go away. There are lots of companies out there who can build a quality product. Find one that is willing and able to correct mistakes or alterations that were made from the original design that was promised to you and that you paid for in good faith.

Amazing work, beautiful cabinets! We love, love the custom cabinets from them. Bill is so helpful and really cares about the work and the customer. He strives to really get it right and get you exactly what you want. We couldn't happier with the way everything turned out.

We are in the process of remodeling our kitchen and our contractor suggested Brakur custom cabinetry. We were able to get custom lighting in the cabinets and also ordered custom cabinets for the laundry room and mud room for a little over the price our contractor would've charged for the kitchen alone (not custom cabinets to fit our space either). Our cabinets are being installed now. They are beautiful! Can't wait until we are able to use them and move back into the kitchen. I almost rated Brakur four and a half stars (if that is possible) because some of the knobs on the doors are not level to each other. We are confident this can be fixed somehow by adjusting the doors and Brakur will be able to fix this without redrilling the knob holes. We are detail oriented people and if this can't be fixed it will drive us crazy every time we use the cabinets (since it is more than one). I am leaving the rating five stars because I am sure Brakur's service will be what we expect and this will be fixed. I would recommend Brakur to others and will most likely purchase cabinets from them for our bathroom remodel.
