Paradise Restored Landscaping & Exterior Design

We had several bids for our large landscape project. Our slope made the project complicated and expensive. Micah was the only one to give us options and suggestions for various pricing levels. As a consumer, I rely on the expertise of the professional in the field and appreciated Micah's suggestions and the pros and cons for each material. He was knowledgeable and took the time to explain the process to us - and this is not an easy accomplishment with an engineer husband who does his own research and has many questions. Micah's method of communication was great. We were reassured that no short cuts were taken. In addition, the billing and communication of weekly work completed was detailed and understandable. The project did take longer than estimated but in my opinion, a small price to pay for quality craftmanship. We have done enough remodels to know that there are always surprises and quick communication and collaboration are the key to success. The staff were friendly, reliable, and wizards with the heavy machinery. I was impressed with how tidy they left the site at the end of the day. Our project officially ended in November ish of 2019 and there were a couple of minor issues which Micah was very responsive to. If you are looking for a company to do quality work and be responsive to your questions and concerns, I highly recommend Paradise Restored.

We had significant delays and mistakes; had to have outdoor wood patio cover redone because done incorrectly, outdoor kitchen stove range missed from plans they created themselves. For the amount of money, professionalism and follow through was lacking from the very beginning. Very disappointing. The last thing I want to do is leave a bad review, but I would not recommend.

Our project is in litigation as we speak. This company tells you what you want to hear and does what they want. When we started pointing out flaws and asking questions the owner became combative and dismissive. This went on for the remainder of the project till we asked him to finish what he started and just leave. He refused to and said he would finish what he was contracted to do. At this point with our charge backs he owed us money above and beyond the contract and we asked for it to be paid back to us as agreed. He immediately sent us a DocuSign document stating that he would pay us our $5,000 he owed is if we released him and his company from all liabilities to the work he did. Extortion perhaps? Glad we did not sign it!! After 1.5 yeaars our project is still not finished. We hadto tear out our 20 ft chimney due to safety of construction issues. No rebar, no supports, just a 7 inch footing when we needed a 24 inch one, even the cement block that was used was not correct. The owner told us repeatedly that the supports and the rebar were there and that it was built correctly. We hired a forensic specialist to cut it open and tell us what was there. Nothing was found and it was flagged by the city as unsafe. The deck was built twice and will need to be rebuilt again. Not up to code and no footIngs below frost level. Our fence did not pass inspection to be placed around the pool. We have complaints in both the Oregon Landscaping Board and the Contractors Board. What we got was not the pretty pictures he shows but one that needs to be alL torn down and replaced.

We purchased a fully restored 1948 Bungalow in Portland that needed an outside upgrade. Micah greatly helped us with suggestions and design clarification. The proposed work was done at bid price, on time, and in a completely professional manner. We love our new patio and side yard to street access. Great job.

Beautiful job rebuilding my small city lot on a very busy street from zero to an oasis (or it will be once I can plant in the spring). It was a complicated job dealing with a bamboo invasion/ digging out large rocks/ installing a pond/ building a retaining wall to support the new deck/ installing drain tile underneath a rock "river"/ building a screening fence, two gates, a shed, and hot tub privacy fencing. Things went well overall. Their excavators, carpenters, pond builder, and stone masons are all first rate. They are not cheap, but I didn't really think any of the other companies I got bids from could have successfully handled a job with this many moving parts. My quibble is how long it took (four months) with long periods where they were not working on this job. People get sick and don't work out, of course, but all too often I was not kept in the loop. But as I said, I am satisfied with the job and look forward to years of peaceful enjoyment of a beautiful new space.

Micah is extremely knowledgeable and goes out of his way to assist with ideas for your project. In my first interaction with him, he spent 30 minutes (after hours) to listen to my plans and to share ideas. He walked me through pictures of beautiful projects and concepts that may fit my needs and spent a good amount of time showing me previous jobs/concepts that he thought may be good fits for my project. That was truly unexpected and much appreciated. He is clearly passionate about his work/company and it shows. I would definitely recommend his services!

These guys came back to do a repair 5 years after the work was done. I was really impressed that they even responded to my email and pictures. We had 2-3 rows of pavers that were sloping next to the stairs. They came in raised it back to level and relayed the pavers. Micah was great to work with and like I said, I'm surprised they even took my call let alone came out to do the repair. They could have easily blamed it on poor drainage or roots or other. I'd use them again for sure and would highly recommend them.

I originally wrote to Micah asking questions about his Roth property project. I was searching photographs of outdoor projects similar to our design. Our project is about to get started and we are down to a few more details which we need to decide. What I saw on the photos of the Roth project appeared to be very close to our hopes. I took note that the location out west (Oregon) and we live on the east coast (Pennsylvania), so I wasn't certain I would get a response, but decided to try anyway. I first contacted him via Houzz and to my surprise he responded by calling me back and leaving a voicemail. I, in turn, called him back and we spoke on the phone. I explained our project to Micah and asked him about some of the dimensions of his Roth project. Micah eagerly responded and had no problem talking with me about the project and a few more questions I had. Needless to say I was very impressed that he would take the time to respond to me and also discuss my project and his already completed project. He did this while knowing he would really not benefit from sharing his time and knowledge with someone he most likely will never do business with. I really appreciated him taking time to contact me and also talk to me about this. I wish Micah and his co-workers continued good luck with their business! Thanks again, Dave Clemens

We recently had the pleasure of working with Paradise Restored and could not be happier. They came and gave us a free estimate. We gave them a general idea of what we wanted. After that, we got out of the way and let them work their magic. Our backyard was terribly bumpy and the lawn was dying from big old dead trees. We now have beautiful grass growing on a level yard, a new path along the side of our house and river rock creating a nice border between the lawn and the fence. A row of arborvitae is now replacing the old trees so the yard feels twice as big as before. We will definitely be calling them again for another project next Spring.

Micah and team have always done terrific work for us, over multiple years, multiple properties, multiple projects. Very professional, reliable, his crews are awesome. Couldn't recommend them more.

My wife and I recently posted several photos of our "restored" backyard on Facebook and received glowing comments from our friends, one of whom - without knowing your company's involvement - responded with a single word: "Paradise!" I want to thank the entire team at Paradise Restored including owner Micah Dennis, designer Elizabeth Hodgson and in particular construction coordinator Richard Hadeed, who had to leap a number of unexpected hurdles in order to implement what we have today, and did so with much patience and grace. I hired Paradise Restored to improve the look of my backyard and they delivered! They installed a patio with a beautiful fire pit made of pillars of Colombia River basalt as well as a gravel path and a new gate. The workmanship was excellent as was the collaboration on the design and implementation. It all comes down to implementation, and I would especially like to call out Isidro for his vision, insight and workmanship. He was continually making adjustments and ensuring quality.
