Jared and his team really delivered with our recent kitchen and bath remodel. His buttoned up, detail oriented style underpinned what could've felt like a rocky and chaotic process. We hired Jared to performa a renovation of a remote property in the Santa Cruz mountains where the regulatory and site complexity caused a couple contractors not to bid. Jared's firm added a 2-bedroom horizontal addition to the house, totally rebuilt the kitchen, added a new additional office/gym building, shed, laundry area, and some outdoor platforms to support glamping tents for excess summer visitors. There was also systems upgrade work, eg entirely new septic, electrical, and pool equipment work. Jared is a strong communicator (almost always available) and was resourceful, which was important because we performed the work during peak COVID and had some unusual design requirements (eg, exterior walls were diagonal ipe siding). The construction quality was very good and Jared was quickly available to handle the inevitable post-completion teething that comes with new projects. The final hard construction cost was about $1.3 million. We used an architect whose attention to detail was imperfect, which added somewhat to the cost. There were also some significant change orders along the way. COVID was obviously a tricky time to build anything, so it's hard to comment exactly on timing achievement, but I think that absent the change orders, we were likely within a couple months of target. I'd definitely recommend Jared to others and have told him he can have prospective serious clients call me for a reference check.

I can’t even begin to explain how amazing it was working with Jared, Chris, and team. Start to finish they cared about our entire family and made sure that despite a major remodel, the space was clean and safe for my small kids (we chose to live in the house during remodel). I never could have dreamed of the amazing results and they got it done super fast and efficiently. A few inevitable minor mistakes popped up, which were always remedied beyond our satisfaction. Once the job was completed Jared made sure to do a final inspection even after we thought we were done and had a few finishing touches added, which show how much he prides himself on his work. His whole team is phenomenal and will make sure the job is done above and beyond.

What isn't obvious in Lewis Design remodel pictures is what is behind the finished surfaces you see in all the beautiful photos. Additional structure and major strength was added to my house because of my kitchen remodel. All my electrics and plumbing are immaculate, running in neat "to code" lines, inside my walls. I cannot impress upon you how good you feel looking at your beautiful finished project and knowing that that beauty is more than just surface and paint. Hands down Jared Lewis design has some of the best of the best in the trades. Our project took a few months to complete as we needed to remove a main portion of the front of our house. We had Jared and crew essentially living in among us for about two months. They are all so professional, understand, and try to minimize the upheaval they are causing. If you are going to have people "invade" your home and space for an extended period of time, you want people like this as the ones to do it. There are other outfits out there that can show you lots of pretty pictures, maybe even some that get close to looking as nice as Lewis projects. What I got in the internals of my house, as well as people that were super respectful and caring in amongst my family for two months, you cannot see that in the pictures. But yes, our new dream kitchen quite the looker as well.

I feel so fortunate to have hired Jared and his team for what ended up being a whole house remodel. I had worked with a couple of contractors for smaller jobs in the past, and those experiences left me nervous about choosing a contractor for this BIG job. I think I interviewed 8 contractors before I hired Jared. It turns out, I hit the jackpot! Jared is everything you want in a contractor. Steady, calm, organized, reliable, trustworthy, and a great communicator. I never wondered what was going on with my job, or when/if someone would show up...he was on top of everything. He was also extremely flexible. When I changed my mind about something (ended up happening more than once), or added something to the job (also happened more than once), or when we had to unexpectedly rebuild our deck because it was not originally sloped correctly (ok, that only happened once)... he handled each change expertly; with ease and patience. As I mentioned above, this job was big: 3 bathrooms, our kitchen, laundry room, and deck. We also re-drywalled and repainted the whole house, replaced all the flooring/windows/doors. We even redid the stucco and siding on the exterior. Jared's own team was amazing, as was every single sub. Each person that came to work on our house was kind, friendly, and respectful of our home. Most importantly, they are all masters of their crafts. We have been back in our home for a couple months now and it is like a dream. The craftsmanship and quality of the work done has resulted in a beautiful home that exceeds what I imagined when I started this remodeling journey. I can't say enough about how incredible Jared was to work with on my remodel. It was a big project for me (full kitchen renovation, including removing one wall and moving another, plus totally reconfiguring my laundry room and half bath), but with Jared's calm management style and attention to detail it never felt overwhelming. He worked closely with my designer to understand all aspects of our plan, and he clearly communicated what needed to happen when in order to to have all the materials arrive to meet our timeline. I had heard nightmare stories of supply chain issues causing huge delays, but we stayed right on schedule. Jared is also just a genuinely nice guy. I trusted him implicitly that if anything unexpected came up he would make it right, like when a subcontractor accidentally knocked over my coffee maker and Jared replaced it immediately. It was a small gesture but is indicative of his honesty and integrity. His entire team did great work, and I am absolutely thrilled with the final product.

From our first interaction – Jared was "people first". We were extremely pleased to work with Lewis Design-Build-Remodel on our kitchen, dining room, and living room remodel in 2019, and are still thrilled with the results after living in our new space for the last year. Jared gave us a reasonable bid, and answered many of our "new to remodeling" questions. He had worked previously with both our designer, Erin Loftin Serventi and civil engineer, Andrew Radovan, so it was easy to communicate changes or clarifications. Jared supplied an excellent team of subcontractors. Every single person who came to the house was professional, clean, and did quality work. The finish work was beautiful, but we also appreciated the quality behind the scenes, to deal with our older home's crooked walls and sagging floors. They were able to stick pretty close to the overall schedule. One thing that set Lewis Design-Build-Remodel apart from others contractors was the online Buildertrend tool, which was convenient for tracking upcoming work, payment milestones, and change orders. The crew also uploaded pictures of their progress on the remodel. It was also a platform to ask questions, with the answers in writing so we could refer back to them. Jared was also easy to contact directly by phone or email, always responding promptly to my questions. This was the first major remodel project we've ever done and it went more smoothly than I imagined. It was tough living out of one bathroom and only our three bedrooms while the entire kitchen/living room area was being worked on, but Jared and his crew made it as painless as possible. Our family couldn't be happier with our brand new kitchen and guest bathroom and wouldn't hesitate to call Jared for our next big project!

I hired Jared Lewis Construction for a kitchen and bathroom remodel. My home was a rental for 15 years and it was obvious that the kitchen and bath were in bad shape; however, once his team of professionals began the project it further became obvious that the house needed major repairs throughout. All of the windows and sliding doors were replaced. A header beam between the kitchen and dining room was lifted into the attic. A new electrical panel was installed and ALL of the old wiring was removed and replaced to code. All of the plumbing was replaced to code. LED lighting was installed throughout the house. The oak hardwood floors that were badly damaged were repaired and refinished. Additional oak flooring was Installed in the family. room that previously had carpeting. The front door and interior doors were replaced and new hardware added. The house was completely repainted both inside and outside. Beautiful new crown molding and baseboards - with the addition of an Old World finish on the walls - transformed this beat-up 1960’s Ranch House. The entire house looks and feels brand new. Jared Lewis has all of the best qualities you can find in a general contractor! Let me list a few: He is a great communicator by phone, text, email and through his online website. He has integrity. He employs a team of subcontractors that are perfectionists in their trades and stand behind their work. He makes sure the job site is always secure and cleaned up when work is completed. He and the team are reliable. He is straight forward and fair in his estimates and pricing (which I made difficult as my requests for additional work snowballed). He is tech savvy and offers the benefit of an open portal to daily updates and photos of progress utilizing Buildertrend. He kept me apprised of the approximate start and completion dates of the additional work that was added after his initial Kitchen and Bath bids were made. He is incredibly patient and persistent! He uses a software program - to itemize time and materials and costs - that is easy to understand and thus made payments easier to follow. He is the ultimate professional at all times and I cannot praise him enough.

I’m not sure what to say other than FIVE STARS for Jared Lewis AND his crew. This was our first home renovation and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Right of the bat he was phenomenal: Bid was thorough, very professional, ORGANIZED and competitive. Let’s not forget to mention his phone APP that you download on your phone: we received picture updates and notes of what was accomplished and/or progress was made. The app made it very easy to keep track of and approve changes along the way. When we came up with the idea of renovating our home, I was told by a few colleagues, “be prepared for delays, setbacks, bad surprises, no workers showing up-no progress in the project, it’s going to take twice as long as they say, etc.” Well, I am happy to say NONE of that happen. We hired Jared Lewis Construction for our kitchen remodel this past summer. We removed a wall separating our kitchen and living room, and redid all the flooring downstairs. There were also changes with the windows and lighting and the installation of built ins in a separate dining room we'd seldom used before. The finished product surpassed our dreams!! The entire first floor of our house now feels brand new. And now we eat in our dining room every night! There are many reasons I recommend and would rehire Jared for additional remodeling projects, but here are just a few: Dependability: We've heard stories from friends about projects that went on forever, didn't get completed, or clients who were no longer on speaking terms with their contractors once their remodels were over. Jared makes sure you can depend on he and his crew from start to finish. We've already give his name out to a few of our friends looking to do remodels. Professionalism: From the very first conversation we had with him until the day he and his team finished, he maintained a good professional relationship. He was great with keeping us informed during the project with what was coming next and keeping to the original scheduled completion date. Courtesy: Jared, his team, and all his sub contractors respected our family and were conscientious while in the home working. They cleaned up at the end of every day and were predictable with their arrival and departure times. Communication: Jared was on top of everything throughout the project, and made sure we spoke often during the weeks to make sure we were all on the same track. Quality: Jared is a perfectionist which was great because one of us is quite picky. It is now several months after project completion and our kitchen still sparkles as though it is brand new. We have had no issues with anything they built or installed. Also, there was very little down time once the project started- there was always something happening to keep the project moving forward. Warm and Fuzzies: We were very comfortable with he and his teams. Even though he's very professional, we still felt comfortable with all the folks he brought in to complete work. We especially enjoyed having Chris, Lee, Jeff and Jessie in our home. They made us laugh and smile even though our home was torn apart. They were great with letting our 13 year old son who was excited to see all the action help them a little bit on demolition day. I asked him the other day if it he thought the remodel was harder or easier than he thought it would be on us. His answer was that it was easier than he thought it would be. I agreed. We made the right decision to hire Jared Lewis Construction and that makes all the difference in the world when we look back at the experience as a whole.

Jared Lewis is a dream to work with and we can’t recommend him enough as a contractor. Our job included a full kitchen remodel, removal of one wall between the kitchen and dining room, changes in floor, windows and lighting in both those rooms plus new floor in the living room. We had put off doing this work for ages in part due to some of the horror stories we had heard from other friends who had done remodels. We had our master bathroom done by Jared Lewis Construction and it came out perfect. Jared is a must to work with if you are doing a remodel. His bid was easy to read and very detailed and there was no surprises. We were so happy with the work he did we also had him remodel our living room and in the spring he will do our kitchen. Jared kept us up to date through the whole process, he is very professional, responsive and organized. I would recommend him to anyone that would ask me.

Jared Lewis Construction was hired to do a remodel of our kitchen and work in other living areas of our house. They were excellent to work with from beginning to end. We started a small project with Jared Lewis in October 2014 and were very happy with his crew and results. With a recommendation from Jared we worked with Cyndi from Beyond the Box, in 2015, to draw up plans for the living room, dinning room, 4 full bathrooms and a kitchen remodel. It took almost a year to complete the plans and we were very happy with all the ideas and designs from Cyndi. With recommendations from Jared and Cyndi we worked with Illuminee for lighting fixtures, Plumbed Elegance for the plumbing fixtures, Mission Tile for the bathrooms and Bay Area Floors for the hardwood flooring. Everyone we worked with was extremely helpful and very patient. They spent many extra hours to get the project completed exactly how we wanted. The remodel began in February of 2016 and finished in November. As with all projects there are numerous issues that arise and Jared was there the entire time to find workable solutions and coordinate all the trades in a timely fashion. ALL of the sub-contractors that Jared works with are extremely professional, easy to communicate with and their results did not disappoint. We would strongly recommend Jared and all of his sub-contractors. In today's economic environment one must be patient and flexible with their time schedule. Jared was there every step of the way, getting all the different trades at the project in the correct order and on time. We are very pleased with Jared and his crew and would strongly recommend them to anyone who needs a contractor. I hired Jared Lewis Construction to finish a remodel on a guest bathroom. The project was started by another contractor, who would never show up when he said he would. Jared and his crew were a breath of fresh air!!! They were ALWAYS on time and worked on the project straight through. We hired Jared Lewis Construction after a long process of contemplating a remodel of our 30 year old home. We decided to “go for it” and completely gut and reconfigure our kitchen, master bathroom, a guest bathroom, and a hallway area. We chose Jared Lewis after interviewing several potential contractors. Jared certainly exceeded our expectations in delivering high quality end results. Jared and his team’s professionalism took away most of the stress of such a large project. Jared’s communication skills are excellent. If he could not be onsite, he would always call to check in. Of course, with any project of this size there were some things that did not go as smoothly as we hoped, but Jared always stepped up to address any concerns that we had. There will always be issues with any large project, but the calm and attentive way that Jared handles them is what sets him apart. Jared claims to just execute the vision of the homeowner, or in our case our designer, Cyndi Mosher. However, he does much more than that. He came up with creative solutions such as vaulting our master bathroom ceiling in a much more dramatic way than our architect’s original plan called for. He also came up with a solution on how to frame in a Marvin Venting Picture Window that was a late addition to our plan, and it looks great! We have completed other remodels and felt that some of the contractors shortchanged us toward the end of the project, as they were anxious to get to their next job. This has not been the case with Jared. All punch list items were handled in a very timely fashion, and all the little extra things we wanted done were addressed. Jared says he wants to ensure the homeowner’s complete satisfaction, and he really means it! All in all, we could not be happier with the results and we highly recommend Jared for any project.

Constructed and installed a 4 foot redwood fence with gate between the house and retaining wall. Project was completed in less time than estimated. Quality is good and look is very clean. Communication was very good to help us figure out how to reduce cost as well as follow up and commitment to returning to house if there are any issues in the next couple of months. We are very happy with Jared and his team!

We called on Jared to put our kitchen back together when it was damaged from a leaking refrigerator water intake hose. Since this was not a planned project and it involved working with our insurer at every step, it went on longer and required more time for review and approval than a typical kitchen project. I can't say enough about Jared Lewis Construction. They recently finished a kitchen remodel at our home and it is BEAUTIFUL! This was our first time working with a contractor to remodel our home and Jared made it such a pleasurable experience. Intially, we received three bids and met with each of the contractors. I enjoy research. So, when embarking on a complete kitchen remodel, removal of a wall which separated our kitchen/dining area from our living room, and replacement of floors in our entire home, it took a few months to do some homework. I spent hours reading reviews, forums, and website articles. I asked friends and acquaintances for recommendations, visited some of their newly remodeled homes, and invited a few designers and contractors into our home to hear what they had to say and recommend as well. I was referred to Jared Lewis by a friend, and after meeting him and hearing how he works and who his sub contractors were, he moved up to the top of our list. He comes from a family of contractors with many local connections. Jared has a strong work ethic, a team of experienced and competent subs, and a great eye for details. What impressed us most was his communication style. He is very responsive to emails, texts, and phone calls, and was good at keeping us in the loop regarding what was going to happen next. Having contractors in and out of our home on a daily basis, and having no kitchen for weeks was certainly disruptive to our family's life, but knowing we had dependable, friendly, responsive professionals working for us made it easier. Jared knows this. He would offer encouragement as each phase of the project began, or when he correctly sensed that I was growing weary of washing dishes in a bathroom sink! "Are you getting excited?" he'd ask with a smile, "Were getting there." And we did. In the end, the entire process was finished within the time frame he initially estimated. Finally, I will say that we opted to order our custom cabinets from a local cabinet builder with whom Jared had never worked. I wasn't sure how that would go, but it was fine. We ended up buying our flooring from someone he had recommended. It worked in our favor that the subs had a history of working together, in that it made the construction process go more smoothly. Jared's bid was neither the highest nor the lowest, but paying a bit more for peace of mind is worth it. Highly recommend.

We just completed our very first remodeling job to our house. We added a floor creating a new room, and created a new pantry. We got quotes from several contractors but Jared's customer service won us over and we decided on using him. Boy, are we glad we did. Jared was really good at communicating along the way. At the end of the day he would either stop by or call to follow up on what was done that day and what would happen next. Being first time remodelers this constant line of communication was helpful and important to us. As for timing, Jared was on time with no surprises.
