From "White Box" to Masterpiece – Highly Recommend Design Envy! We began working with Rita Bateman and Erica Haun at Design Envy months before closing on our high-rise at the Art House, and it was the best decision we made. They took a standard 'white box' and transformed it into a casually elegant, sophisticated home that perfectly reflects our style. What impressed us most was their ability to balance beauty with utility. They designed a stunning custom wood wall that integrates a functional workstation, and they completely reimagined a spare bedroom into a moody, high-end media room and bar. Throughout the six-month project, Rita and Erica were incredibly professional, intently listening to our needs and fulfilling every concept while staying strictly within our budget. They work together seamlessly, and the service was truly world-class. We started this process looking for designers, but we are so happy to now calling them friends.

Rita and Erika were the perfect team to work with. We had a lot of art and they took to time to understand the vibe we were going for. They also were very cognizant that we wanted to find a balance of rental vs living and that we love bargains and deals. On this front they were very cost conscious which saved us a ton. Rita would show me places and let me look for what I liked. One time I was in Louisville and saw a light fixture. Based on a photo she found it and got us a great deal. They had wonderful ideas on how to best show off our art and our amazing 19th floor view. While every other living room in the building had sofas and chairs facing inside to a TV, they had a different vision. Create a darker media room for TV and then in the living room have all the sofas and chairs facing out to Tampa bay. It was awesome!! I know what I like, but only when I see it. So Rita knew everyone and gave me a list of places and people to see. No pressure just let me find my way with her guidance. I cannot recommend them highly enough and in the end we rented or place for by far the highest price in the building, largely because of their taste and refinement.

This is the second time in the last 7 years that we have used YOUR DESIGN ENVY. This project was much bigger than our first one and it was completed beyond our expectations. We gutted our kitchen, and Rita helped us select counters, new cabinets, backsplash and all new appliances. In addition, we had almost all flooring removed and replaced with tiles that she helped us select to match our color scheme and then the paint and wallpaper to match. We relocated the laundry room to provide more space and easier access and in addition she found a way to increase the storage closet where they were initially placed. She helped us select beautiful counters for the powder room and 3 bathrooms and new cabinets to match. She also helped us select a personally designed large cabinet for our master bath. Rita not only accompanied on all our searches and provided excellent advice on color combinations and materials while managing the project through carefully vetted subcontractors that she selected to complete our project.

We have had several renovations and remodeling projects over the years, but none were done more efficiently or with better results than our experience with Rita. She has developed a top-notch group of suppliers and craftsmen which made it quick and easy for us to choose exactly what we wanted. She listened to our thoughts but also offered advice when indicated. She is very knowledgeable regarding renovating and decorating ideas. She supervised and followed up with the various suppliers and contractors appropriately, and stuck with us when problems developed with the supply chain. Her fees were very reasonable. Rita and her associate were hired to provide furnishings and interior decor for new 3 bedroom condo in downtown St Petersburg. With my work schedule it was nice to know Rita was always there for all furniture deliveries as well as to inspect completed work for wall paper, painting , electrical, etc. Rita's knowledge of market for furnishings and local "trades" for various tasks is impressive. I had read about Rita Bateman from an earlier review in HOUZZ and was delighted to learn she lived in my building and was available to help me update my apartment. Our building is a unique contemporary design with lots of challenging angles, spaces and windows. I had recently downsized from a historic home in WPB and wanted to merge a few of my period furnishings with a more contemporary feel consistent with the unit's design. I also wanted to reconfigure the unit's main wall by adding texture that would visually make a conspicuous doorway practically disappear, add color throughout, -- and do all this on a budget! Rita's personal approach and professionalism allowed me to easily integrate her design ideas. Most importantly, I felt in control of the process and results. Over a year has past since we completed our project and I look around every day admiring how fresh and new it feels.

This company was highly recommended to us by several other owners in our condo building. We hired Rita Bateman for an analysis of our condo prior to moving there. She listened to our desires and made excellent recommendations on cost effective ways to modify and improve the space. They replaced the kitchen tiled backsplash, added decorative brushed satin molding above the kitchen cabinets covering the added twinkle lights. They added mirrored bathroom cabinets in the master bath, electric sconces in 3 bathrooms and decorative mirrored trims on the mirrors in two bathrooms. They patched drywall and painted throughout the condo. They also recommended modifying the bathroom doors and master bedroom door with frosted glass inserts. The quality of the entire project was OUTSTANDING and completed in time for our scheduled move-in date.

I live in a high rise where the elevator opens into a 10 foot square foyer. I have had three designers attempt to make this entry into my home what it should be. Your Design Envy was the third attempt at making this room beautiful. The design was spectacular; the designer, Rita Bateman, was the best I ever worked with and I wish I had known her from the beginning; knowing her would have saved me thousands of dollars spent on other inferior designs.
