Design Plus Construction just did an addition and partial renovation for us in Cambridge. They were fabulous. We have had a lot of experience with contractors and renovations over the years and they were by far the best we have ever worked with. We live in a cramped area with lots of access and parking issues and they handled them cheerfully with attention to the needs of our neighbors. They were on time and on budget and their attention to detail made it possible for us to comfortably live in the house during the renovation. As the inevitable surprises came up, as will always be the case with an older home, they dealt with them in a completely straightforward and thoughtful manner that made them all non-issues. We could not recommend the DPC team more highly! Keith, Kendra, and team were wonderful partners throughout our project. We really appreciated the DPC model of meticulously estimating every aspect of our renovation project and staying true to budget and timeline. They were responsive to our every inquiry, attentive to detail, and masterful in their craftsmanship. Our project scope was to design and rebuild a historic home that had decades of deferred maintenance and to finish the basement. DPC made a fantastic first impression -- from the start, we knew we were working with a thoughtful, honest, and expert builder. Of all the bids, DPC provided the most detailed breakdown of cost and schedule, then they followed through and transparently met those estimates. The fun and engaging design process was in lockstep with the construction process, giving us ample time to make design choices that were then beautifully crafted. We could not be more pleased with the results. And, even after the project concluded, DPC has been quick to return to address any minor requests and have stood behind their excellent work.

DPC Corporation reduced or completely eliminated a lot of stress associated with house renovation. Most notable about working with DPC compared to other contractors is the series of meetings before committing to a project contract. DPC worked with us to thoroughly identify and assess 1) the normal activities throughout the different parts of the unrenovated house and 2) the expected activities after house renovation. From the detailed assessment of past activities and future plans, DPC developed a very detailed project plan that identified by name sub-contractors, brand and manufacturer of critical materials and the critical completion dates of phases such as roofing, plumbing, kitchen appliance delivery and so forth. Once our ten-month project kicked off, the work was very reliable in terms of 1) on-time project activities such as the ordering of kitchen cabinetry, countertop materials and bathroom tiles, 2) receipt and installation of promised make-model of materials such roofing tiles, windows and the like, 3) quality of workmanship and 4) on-budget. The renovated house turned out to be designed as well as we had dreamt about.

We just finished a giant renovation project with Keith and is team taking point on everything for us, and we couldn't be happier with the project and the process. From the beginning, Keith was proactive, communicative and clear about timing and process. We engaged them initially for some planning and pricing, paused the project for year, and then picked back up in 2021. Our renovation touched every aspect of our house - not a room left alone, along with some really challenging elements that come along with renovating a mid-century modern house like ours. We renovated the kitchen, the kids rooms, added a primary bed and bath, a guest room and closet, and made our sun room and real room, all with tricky and unique components. Keith handled every curveball that came his way, and consistently put the needs of myself and my family first through the process. We felt like we had a great understanding of all the moving pieces and dependencies in the schedule because one of Keith's super powers is really clear, and proactive communications that helped set our expectations week to week as the project evolved. Keith's team are all great and easy to have around during construction, and his lead carpenter, Rob, handled everything, from big problem solving to small punch list items with equal ease and good humor. The end result is a beautiful renovation that delivered everything we needed to be able to really enjoy our home. We can't recommend Keith and his team enough - we are so lucky to have found them!

Keith and his team were exceptional partners on our home remodel, and we feel very fortunate to have worked with them. We asked them to take on a complex project: a tangle of rooms in a 100-year old Dutch Colonial, which needed to be entirely rebuilt from the inside to connect and harmonize with a 1990s-era addition. Precision of execution would be really critical to making these two halves of our house feel like a whole. Keith built a very detailed estimate and timeline for the work; he also asked for many decisions from us and our architect in advance. That upfront work really paid off in terms of time and money by minimizing bottlenecks during construction. He and his team delivered with extraordinary accuracy considering all the complications of building in 2022 (pandemic, global supply chain, et al). When we did have to make decisions during construction, Keith always provided clear information about the options, benefits and risks. We appreciated more than we can say his transparency and thoroughness. Because of the detailed timeline and regular communication, we were able to live onsite for the majority of the project with only minimal disruptions to our daily lives. We felt a friendly and collegial relationship with all the the folks who were working here, too. The result is a truly beautiful new home for our family, with spaces that feel cohesive and unified - achieved via a process that left us feeling confident and secure in our choice to renovate. We're so excited to be stewarding this house into its second century of lovely, efficient new life, and we're grateful to DPC for making it happen.

I hired Keith Tower and his company for a large, multifaceted renovation on an old house, which I occupied during the work. A challenging project was made more so due to a slow, capricious planning process that kept changing the rules. Keith stuck with me through the whole mess, identifying what could be done without requiring major permits and changing his plans to tackle those. We got the permits, and then Covid hit. DPC continued the work throughout, adapting schedules, work, personnel as needed to meet every surprise. Keith and the staff were meticulous, responsive, and scrupulously honest. DPC has a particular gift for making a project livable, and ensuring privacy. My living space had minimal construction disruption and mess. The work was completed as per schedule (given all the delays), and in budget, and looks wonderful, with excellent quality. Keith was also very conscientious about returning to adjust and correct issues that arose after the work was completed. A thoroughly professional and skilled outfit. I can't recommend them highly enough.

From the bidding process on, we had confidence in Keith Tower, the principal of Design Plus, to do a great job on our project. Our property has wetlands and required approval from the Town Conservation Commission. We ended up with a 40+ page document from the commission which detailed the conditions for the construction. When we met with Keith to discuss our bid, it was clear that he gone through all these details and understood what would be required of him. He also offered us a fixed bid. This meant we knew what the project would cost, apart from any extras that we asked for along the way. Overall, we found Keith to be very honest and proud of doing the very best work. I should mention that we are not the easiest clients to work with, since we are extremely detail-oriented. This was complicated by the fact that most of the project took place during the pandemic, which limited our face-to-face meetings. Consequently, it took lots of emails back and forth to work through all the issues that arose during the project. In the end, however, this paid off. We are extremely pleased with the results that were achieved and how well they meet our particular needs. I would be remiss if I did not mention two important members of Keith’s team, whom we also worked with closely. Joann, who is in charge of all the finish details, is extremely competent, responsive, and pleasant to work with. The same can be said of Keith’s chief carpenter and jack-of-all-trades, Rob, who tackled the many final “punch list” items, all of which he corrected with competence and grace. If you are looking for the lowest possible bidder on a project, I recommend you find another general contractor. On the other hand, if you are looking for a GC, whom you can count on to deal with you honestly, handle complex issues, and deliver the very best results, I highly recommend Design Plus for your project.

We recently completed a massive renovation of our home with DPC and had a wonderful experience working with them (kitchen, entry, mudroom, bathrooms, living room, etc.). We recently completed a renovation and addition for our home with Design Plus Construction. We are very pleased to have worked with Keith, Rob and Joann and their team of subcontractors. Prior to starting, Keith provided us with a very detailed budget, breaking down each part of the construction cost and also provided us a with a detailed project schedule. This was very helpful in helping us keep track of our cost and construction schedule. Keith was very responsive during the project and was always available to answer questions, whether it was from our architect or us. When we had a few additional work orders, we were pleased with how smooth and transparent the process was - their pricing was always reasonable and fair. Finally, even after the project was completed and we moved home, when we needed things fixed or corrected, Keith would quickly sort things out for us.

Design Plus Construction did the most amazing job on our home. We had a big project to renovate our basement and 1st floor. Throughout the process they were hardworking, professional and always kept to their timelines. They were flexible and willing to accommodate new ideas and even new projects. No job was ever too big or too small for them to complete for us with care and integrity. They are talented, they are respectful of their clients and they take great pride in their work. The workmanship in our home is simply impeccable! Besides all of their professionalism, they are nice people and great to work with. I cannot say enough positive things about working with Keith, Rob and Joann. They truly are the best. They know this business, they know how to make their customers happy and work tirelessly so that everything comes together...beautifully. Keith and DPCC have completed a number of projects for us -- major renovation to kitchen, upgrading bathroom and new garage + patio. We are extremely happy with each and every one of these projects, in particular, the quality of the work, the process, and the cost. Construction at our house is challenging as our house was build in the 1890s. However, Keith always effectively navigates these challenges, clearly communicates throughout the process, and actively involves us in important decisions. The most recently completed project was our garage and patio. This involved demolishing a small 80 year old single car garage and replacing it with a new 2-car, 2-story garage, in a different location in our yard, as well as constructing a patio in our backyard abutting the new garage. Keith was highly collaborative through the design phase and developed potential innovative solutions. Construction was delayed due to town rules around historical buildings, but ultimately addressed. The garage itself has exceeded our expectations, as it was sized just right and the 2nd floor provides great storage and functionality. The patio is awesome, Keith found the right hardscape team and effectively managed them, as a result we couldn't be happier with the result. In addition, with all the projects that Keith has done for us, if there are minor issues that arise after the job is complete (and there often are), Keith will address these rapidly and efficiently. In summary, Keith and DPCC has done tremendous work for us and we wouldn't consider using anyone else.

We used Design Plus for a basement renovation project. They finished a bedroom including a new window through the foundation wall, added a full bathroom, and framed, insulated, drywalled and plastered the basement perimeter. Of the four quotes we received for the project, design plus had the most detailed breakdown of pricing and schedule. And even with a couple of surprises along the way, they finished on time. The site was kept clean, and the staff were a pleasure to have around. Subcontractors did amazing work - blue board and plaster in particular were fast and had excellent results. When there was a question abput the right way to proceed to meet code, the more conservative choice was made, even when it meant more work. I recommend Design Plus very highly and would not hesitate to use them again.

Design Plus Construction Corp. recently completed some projects around our home, consisting of installing attic pull down stairs, new deck, reconstructing our front entry steps and a safety window/second egress in our basement. I can not say enough about their team...their design sense, commitment to the project, work ethic and finished product are incredible. We were given an initial contract and schedule, which was discussed thoroughly together in a meeting, with subsequent updates as the projects progressed; both were adhered to accordingly. The owner checked in with us often and also met with us personally during the projects whenever I had a concern; he offered ideas and photos from previous projects, an architect to confirm/offer options for our personal needs for the deck space and his own expertise & knowledge; and extra equipment, trash pickup and products were used and delivered efficiently. The team was punctual, tidy, and left the work site as safe as possible at the end of each day. In all, it was an enjoyable and satisfying experience, their professionalism, vision, attention to detail, and concern for the customer's wishes, budget and property were outstanding!

Design Plus Construction renovated my master bedroom, bathroom and 2 other bathrooms in my house. They are a pleasure to work with, and completed the work on time and under budget. They accommodated several work order revisions along the way. Keith and his staff are very clear on communications and always went the extra mile. Keith and Design Plus are the only general contractors we will ever use. We've had experiences with other contractors, who were all good, but Keith has been the perfect partner. Works with my style--I tend to be a control freak, and he deals accordingly by giving me deadlines and the freedom to work to them, which I love (e.g., you need to have the bath fixtures picked out by x date, if not, it will impact the schedule). If you'd rather have someone else take care of all the details, he can handle that, too. He's on top of the schedule and his budget estimates are realistic--no surprises. He's great value and great service. We've done a kitchen remodel, basement finishing, bathroom remodel and exterior work (siding and patio).

Very professional and responsible company. From the very start things were explained clearly and the budget was reasonable and never changed. The workman showing up at the site were all very respectful and made sure that we stayed comfortable at home during the construction.

Keith and his team were excellent! We added a master suite above a pre-existing garage, one large and one small dormer to the existing house, and did a a gut remodel of the existing interior including baths and a kitchen. He created a small apartment within the house with a functioning temporary kitchen so we could live in the home during the project - saving us lots of money since we didn't have to rent an apartment. He was a great project manager. Keith was conscientious and transparent throughout the process and had people working everyday from beginning to end. We would certainly work with him again!

I have used Keith and his team for a kitchen renovation and are thrilled with the results. Before the start of our project Keith walked up through the process and the prospective timeline. I've worked with Keith Tower and his company, Design Plus Construction, on 3 projects. They all came off without a hitch so I turned to him immediately and without hesitation when project #4 presented itself. Integrity - Keith's clients can count on it in every aspect and at every step of the process. Keith is honest, on time, and on budget. He pays careful attention to detail and more importantly, to what his client is saying. The house I put into his hands was in desperate need of attention, and while we were undertaking a gut remodel of part of it, I was anxious that it not lose its character after 180 years of family ownership. That meant hiring a contractor who would listen to what I wanted rather than try to sell me on what other homeowners were doing. When it was over, I got my house back, same as it ever was and a thousand times better, just as I had asked. We then turned to the exterior where some of the porch posts had rotted in the salt air of the north shore. Keith scoured the area for the best mill and the best price; no stone was left unturned. An original post was removed, 9 copies fabricated and installed, and my porch made sturdier without losing authenticity. So after stunning success with 4 bathrooms, a remodeled ell, and a fortified porch, it's a no-brainer that I turn again to Design Plus Construction for my next project, and so should you!

We stayed in our house during the construction and the DPC staff were very courteous, friendly and accommodating. Keith managed every step of the process directly. He cared about our project and cared about the outcome. Our addition and renovation were completed ahead of schedule and came out better than we expected!
