Michaelangelo's Sustainable Landscape & Design

I hired the company to do a multi-phase landscape project that included a redesign of 3/4 acre lot. The team, and very specifically Michael, was incredibly helpful at every stage of the process, from hiring a landscape architect, to project design, to value engineering and execution. We love the outcome and have had numerous neighbors in the community comment on the work done and how much they love the aesthetic. I’ve retained the company to maintain the site moving forward which they’ve done an excellent job of, including the replacement any plants that did not work. Michael and team are very knowledgeable, responsive and respectful in their dealings. I highly recommend the company look forward to continuing the execution of our vision for the property.

I hired Michaelangelo for a full landscape redesign -- front & backyard, softscapes, hardscapes and fencing. Michaelangelo completed my project in June 2024. I reached out to them without a lot of lead time. They still completed the project on time and within budget. Now, just before Spring 2025, I am excited to see that not only did my flowers survive the winter, they are blooming full and gorgeous as promised. The Michaelangelo team were great partners. I appreciate how knowledgeable they are about their craft as well as their relationship with the city that helped everything run smoothly. Forome of my original ideas were problematic, they shared why and recommended alternatives that I ended up liking better once executed. Their process was organized, detailed and transparent. Pricing was fair and reasonable. The final cost of my project fell within my original budget and in line with estimates I received from other vendors.

We are super happy with the quality of the work done on our yard. The work crew obviously takes a lot of pride in their work. The stone path and creek work were top notch, and the lighting looks great at night. They even fixed some crumbling brick steps without me asking or even telling me about it. I strongly believe you get what you pay for!

CHOOSE THEM FOR ALL LANDSCAPING!!! They came out to our house; gave us a full presentation they had already completed with ideas as well as a budget. They had a professional surveyor come out to take measurements as well as suggest landscaping ideas. We could NOT afford everything we wanted, so they divided it up in 3 phases, which we got to keep whether we used their company or went with someone else. Brilliant. Phase 1 was removing several bushes and trees, 2 stone walkways from the front of our house all the way, and a gorgeous firepit. We had another construction company at our home updating the basement and Michaelangelo's blew them out of the water. They showed up early, completed their work on time, then CLEANED UP WHAT THEY LEFT every single day. I have 2 younger children who would bug them all day and they did not mind and were so sweet. We had a budget, and they kept to it along with offering us deals or better materials for the same price. I have OCD and I was very specific about the arrangement, color of every single stone, and placement. They surprised me every day with their impeccable work, positive attitude, and communication. If I didn't like something they suggested, no problem. If I Ioved something but it was too much, they offered me something else that I would actually like better. We can't wait for phase 2, and will be using them for the rest of our lives.

I got my backyard renovated in Fall 2024 by Michaelangelo's and they did an excellent job. The whole process was pleasant. They have an excellent team and very nice to work with. Any changes during the project were handled professionally and they worked with me and guided me through the process. I would recommend them to anybody looking for a outdoor project.

We have had Michaelangelo's work on some pretty extensive landscaping projects for 2 of our homes. Each time they came out several times to ensure the plan was exactly what we wanted before beginning. They also worked to break the job in pieces when our budget required it. They came to work when promised and always called or emailed when there was a delay of some sort. We get so many compliments on the work!

Michael is a lovely person and patient as well. The crew did a fabulous job grading my yard and remedying my drainage problem, after several other companies had failed. The sod they laid is green and lush, very happy with the company.

We continue to use these guys for landscape improvements and maintenance. Always available to review issues with plants and lighting. Maintenance guys are thorough and helpful. All the guys are respectful and friendly. Management is hands on.

Great for hardscape and design. Plant/tree quality really suffered. Even replacement plants came with disease. After so many plants got sick the first time I took special care to notice the replacements, which were more than I or the company wanted. At this point I'm happy enough and can replace the sick smaller plants on my own if I can't turn them around. For what we paid we shouldn't have to go through this ($75k) Would not use for plants.

We had our backyard hill slope and the area next to our patio landscaped by Michaelangelo’s. There were several stages of the project. First, we met with landscape architect Bruce Holliday to discuss what our needs and expectations were. In addition to planting various trees, flowers and bushes, we also wanted the following: 1A low border wall separating the backyard grass from the bottom of the sloped hill. 2Steps leading from the bottom of the hill to the top (to be able to carry light yard debris up into the woods beyond the top of the hill). 3A meandering path up the slope to allow disposal of additional yard debris via wheelbarrow. Bruce then submitted his initial design, which called for gray slate chips to be used as the surface for the wheelbarrow path. He also added 4 short rock boulder walls to frame the curves of the wheelbarrow path for a better visual appearance. The low border wall (about 24” tall) at the bottom of the hill would have a concrete block foundation with stone wall pieces mortared around it. The top of that wall would have stone slabs mortared to the top of the concrete blocks. The steps up the hill would consist of individual Crab Orchard Flagstone steps. The design plan also showed the location and layout of the various trees, flowers and bushes. After Bruce presented his initial design, we requested some minor revisions and had several follow up meetings with Michaelangelo’s business development manager Justin Alderman. At the end of that process, Michaelangelo’s submitted their project cost estimate. Next, we put down our 50% deposit and went over a list of various additional questions that we had. Subsequent to finalization of the design and work scope, we met with project manager Roberto Ramos to discuss some construction project details before the work commenced. At the start of the construction phase, all the hardscape materials were delivered. Then crew foreman Rogélio and his work crew completed construction of the border wall, the gray slate chip path, the 4 rock boulder walls and the laying and positioning of the Crab Orchard Steps up to the top of the hill. Each day throughout the project Rogélio met with us to ensure that everything met our expectations. Once all the hardscape construction was completed, all the trees, flowers and bushes were delivered. Rogélio reviewed their proposed locations with me to ensure that we both had the latest plans based on revisions. As the plantings were deployed, we made a few modifications to the original plan based on how things looked. We met with Roberto again to submit these changes and he agreed. Rogélio and his crew then made the modifications to our satisfaction. We were extremely pleased with how Michaelangelo’s handled every phase of this project. We were allowed to make changes mid-stream as the work progressed and all employees were a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend them to anyone who wants to beautify their yard.

The October 2021 project was my third project with Michaelangelo’s. I was very impressed with the way the entire project went from design to install. Everyone was very professional.

The entire group is easy to work with, they listen to all you have to say and never turn down an idea, but do help guide you to what will be best for your yard.

Great job everyone! We are tackling our landscaping work in stages and the first portion looks awesome. For starters they constructed a stone path and boulder wall system to calm the water flow that was badly eroding the yard at the side of the house. It is beautiful work. Rogilio did professional work leading the crew, all of which were super nice. Eugene watched over it all and was very communicative. We've been impressed by the company's process from design to start to this stage and look forward to the finish.

Our second major landscaping project with Michaelangelo’s, the job included multiple retaining walls, drainage, paved patio, plantings, fences and excavation/grading. The team was considerate and professional throughout and was able to adapt quickly to changes or discoveries during the process. They really went the extra mile to ensure our peace of mind and satisfaction. The end result was both functional and aesthetically pleasing. We’re so happy with our new backyard and will continue to use Michaelangelo’s for anything landscape/hardscape that comes up.

I chose Michaelangelo's for a landscaping and hardscaping project to add tiered garden beds to my sloped yard along with pollinator plants and shrubs to create a garden space. From the outset, I really appreciated Michael's attention to the sustainability and aesthetic aspect. He recommended going with boulders rather than wood- which is more long-lasting, sustainable, cost-effective and beautiful. His team was incredibly professional and worked side by side with me as I have very particular taste and requirements. I really appreciated how much they cared in how I was feeling throughout the whole process and they regularly checked in to make sure everything was to my taste. I would definitely recommend them and plan to use them again in future projects.

We have been in our home for over 30 years and did have a beautiful front yard with fescue. However, too much shade and too many seasons of drought took its toll and we needed to "rescue our fescue." Unfortunately, the fescue was too far gone and Michaelangelo's recommended that we completely renovate our yard, cutting down trees and large branches, adding a sprinkler system and planting zoysia. The final result was nothing short of amazing. We highly recommend Michaelangelo's.

Michael's team is quick professional and did a great job. I have hired him twice. Once to do a patio. It was sinking and they leveled it out. No problems at all a year later. The second time was to level the backyard so there was no potholes or puddles when it rained and pull up a couple dead trees. I thought it would take a week and it took two days. Everyone wore uniforms and they were on time, quick and efficient. I would always hire Michael now and always recommend him for landscaping needs.

Very impressed with the design services, the detailed estimating, the project managing and the field supervision. Michael communicated very well during all phases of the project, which was key here. It was a complicated project with several phases and also logistically difficult. Due to the open communication with Michael, those difficulties were very greatly minimized. He hit every schedule milestone, which due to the compressed timeline of the project was very important. We have a beautiful vision brought to reality.

There weekly service for our community is extremely reliable and the team works diligently together to create a very manicured look for our property each week.. They have completed several installations for us including installing bushes and trees in an area that walls were reconstructed and totally landcsaped by Michaelangelos team. Th project was completed in the time frame that we scheduled for and the look is amazing. The communication between our Property Manager and the Board of Directors and Michaelangelos is tops-and this is essential when doing projects and maintaining the grounds. First impressions mean a lot. When we interviewed Michaelangelo's to see whether it was the company we were looking for to do some landscaping for us, Michael(as in Michaelangelo's) showed up. When we told him we didn't want a magazine cover, but basically wanted the place to look neat and clean, he got it. When we told him his proposal was much more than we could afford, he worked with us to pare down the plans until we were satisfied with both the strategy and the price. And he suggested we implement the plan in phases so we could spread out the cost. The result: Our yard looks the best it has ever looked. Not a magazine cover, but front and back that are neat and clean.

I am the Board President for my HOA. Prior to January 2015, we had used 5 landscapers in 6 years. Beginning January 2017, we hired Michaelangelo's and they have been absolutely a pleasure to deal with. They completed landscape tasks, such as rejuvenation pruning, that had never been done in the past. They have been proactive in making suggestions to improve the aesthetics, as well as bringing safety-related issues to our attention. We cannot believe how fast they were able to improve our landscape. They've done exactly what they said they were going to do.

I'm surprised they asked for a review. We used this company for many years until we grew weary of 10-minute visits, just a quick mowing of a 18x24' lawn. Every other time there was a new crew and we had to ask them again to trim overgrown low growing bushes and cut off dead flower heads. In fact, to the outsider, it looked like we didn't have lawn maintenance and I began to get solicitations to service the property. It was frustrating toward the end.

Our HOA community uses Michaelangelo's on a weekly basis during the warmer months and biweekly during the winter. For the most part, they're ok, but the office staff is pretty difficult to work with when you want to get more details on WHEN they'll be coming due to weather constraints. I just wish I had better communication and they're inconsistent on pruning bushes.

We are extremely pleased with the work done by Michaelangelo's. The work was done in several phases to meet our budget needs. They worked to create several beautiful and sustainable areas in our yard, as well as a cohesive overall look. It is a pleasure to pull into the driveway these days. They were dependable, responsive to any concerns, creative, and always polite.

Michelangelo's has been servicing my home for about 3 years. I was using another lawn care service for about 7 years but changed over because of the natural products that are used with this Michelangelo's. It turns out that my lawn really does look better, I don't have to pull weeds between services and the rates are pretty good. The representative told us that it would be a slower process but a more permanent one. You can definitely tell the difference in my lawn compared to my neighbors.... Well the neighbor that are not using their services. Also, I think the same gentleman from the company has been servicing our lawn since we have had the service. I've chatted with him a few times. He is extremely nice, knows A LOT about grass (he told me he used to work at a major golf course) and is willing to tell you about how your lawn and its specific temperament. Overall great service.

Michaelangelos was the best monthly landscape provider I have ever had. They were personable, timely and were reasonable especially in project work. Their online invoices were a little problematic but due their friendly professional behavior, it was easy to work through. Great company!
