Ryan and Mike led the team that completed our kitchen and basement renovation. They did a fantastic job, delivering the work on time and budget. Ryan was very responsive and provided practical advice as we selected finishes and decor. Mike went the extra mile making full-size cutouts of our bedroom furniture to show that it would all fit. The toughest thing about any renovation is choosing the right contractor. We’ve done several builds and renovations in our lives and the quality of our results has always been directly related to our choice of contractor. SCOTTRYAN Design Build just completed our recent full scale condo renovation and the results are outstanding. Ryan was lead guy on our project and his impressive organization skills and job knowledge guided us through every phase flawlessly. We decided to live onsite during the reno (in our laundry room and den!) so there was added pressure on the team to keep the environment livable. They had to move key pieces of furniture in and out of rooms several times and did it without a whisper of complaint. All the trades were respectful and efficient. And the work is all top drawer. Whenever we discovered small deficiencies, there was never any push back. They were remedied quickly. And the most amazing part is the project came in on time and slightly under budget! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend SCOTTRYAN for any future project. As a matter of fact, we did recommend them to our son and daughter-in-law who just completed a major renovation on their home. Many of the trades they saw were different from the ones who did our place, but the results were just as impressive. That consistency seems the best endorsement of all.

Best experience with a contractor. Ryan was easy to work with. We renovated two (very tired, very original 1981 construction and design) bathrooms in the fall. Our ensuite (2 piece) and our main floor bathroom (3 piece). We knew what we wanted in genereal terms; more contemporary; change the bathtub format to a walk in curbless shower, more efficient storage etc. But we are terrible at looking a tiles, swatches, etc. and seeing the final vision. We know what we like when we see it but there are literally thousands of choices that easily overwhelm. Ryan helped us out by listening carefully, curating samples and websites or pictures to narrow the choices down which helped us immensely. Ryan offered choices for low/mid and high cost each time to accommodate styles and budgets. During construction, they taped off the areas, cleaned up each day really well to minimize dust and the upheaval. Workmanship was always high quality, and we are super happy with the results. Would definitely recommend.

We recently had our basement finished by SCOTTRYAN, and we couldn’t be happier with the results! From start to finish, Scott was incredibly attentive, detail-oriented, and professional. Decided to do a kicthen reno and went with Scottryan Design build. Had a great experience, great design suggestions and implementation was awesome! As the kitchen came together we added scope to add a pantry as well as some work in the laundry room which they were able to accomodate. The entire project went smoothe and everyone involved were great to work with and made it as easy as possible to live through it. SCOTTRYAN Design Build was recommended by the custom kitchen design company we hired to design our new kitchen. We initially met with Ryan to discuss the project, which involved removal of two walls, relocation of plumbing, heating, and electrical, as well as installation of new flooring, countertop, backsplash, appliances and new ceiling insulation. We immediately felt comfortable with Ryan, and were very pleased with the quick turnaround on receiving a very detailed quote. Ryan assured us that they would be hands on managing the project and all the sub-trades from start to finish, and they did not disappoint. Once the work commenced, Scott became involved, and we were equally impressed with his professionalism, responsiveness, transparency and attention to detail. Although the renovation was disruptive, they made it as stress free as possible. All of our questions were answered promptly and respectfully, and if something needed a closer look or a refinement, it was dealt with same day. Their level of communication was amazing and the work and the tradesmen doing the work were top-notch. We do not have one complaint about anything, and the project came in under budget! We couldn't be happier with the experience and the end result. There is not one thing I would change in my new kitchen. It is truly beautiful and we would very highly recommend SCOTTRYAN.

ScottRyan were courteous, professional, on-time and communicative. The work carried out was of high quality, including a newly built garage, small gym, garden fence, metal work and stucco work. Scott managed to complete our 2nd floor addition and full home renovation on time, and generally on budget (Pandemic, material shortages, and owner upgrades notwithstanding), while other renos in the neighbourhood sat idle. We worked with Scott & Ryan in 2018 for a complete main floor and kitchen renovation. I found ScottRyan on Houzz and contacted them in 2018. Ryan put us in touch with an architect to provide drawings for a covered porch. We received our building permit in Feb 2020 and due to Covid weren’t sure if we could proceed. I contacted Ryan and he completely put us at ease about their company safety protocols. This team is friendly, fun and so professional. Their attention to detail and craftsmanship is one of a kind. From the proposal through the project the budget aspect is clear and concise. At the same time we renovated the living room, kitchen and powder room. As general contractors they manage the skilled trades and have good working relationships with them ensuring the quality of the project meets their high expectations. They also take care of any warranty work. 1 number to call. Once the Reno was underway we became the hosts for a small wedding. ScottRyan was able to stick to the agreed delivery date even with all of the Covid interruptions. The wedding went off without a hitch in our brand new renovated space. A year later and we are thoroughly enjoying all aspects of our Reno. We won’t hesitate to call ScottRyan for our next Reno.

No one else I would ever work with. Have now done two renos with SCOTTRYAN and they truly approach every job with the care and consideration they would their own home. So many great recommendations and the best quality work. We settled on SCOTTRYAN Design Build for a family room renovation after positive recommendations from two neighbours who had completed large, entire home projects with them. Despite the challenges of renovating during Covid 19 restrictions / limitations, the experience was very positive. We highly recommend them and their entire crew!! Covered Porch Project Ryan and Scott were amazing to work with from the very beginning of the project until the very end. They were very quick to answer our inquiry call about our backyard project for a covered porch. They were amazing in helping set up permits and drawings and pointing us in the right direction, plus amazing with great ideas and designs from past experiences. Once the permits were finalized we set a date and the work was completed in a week. They and their crew were amazing, polite, and caring for our neighbours and did they ever run a very clean and organized job site. I met Ryan of Scott Ryan Design Build through Houzz back in fall 2018. We had sold our house and purchased a bungalow in Oakville that was all original. I interviewed several contractors based on reviews in the industry and settled on Ryan’s company after meeting with him and discussing our plans for the renovation as well as seeing several of his previous projects. To be honest, he came across as a straight shooter which is something I value in this day and age as its sometimes difficult to find in any industry. We used ScottRyan Design Build for our recent kitchen renovation and were very happy with the final product. We took out the old kitchen and opened up the space to the dining room. We found working with Ryan made the reno process much easier - good communication, honest, attention to detail. He checked on the site frequently and was always available to answer any of our questions. He made sure that any issues were resolved quickly and to our satisfaction. This was our first home renovation of any kind and we were very pleased with the final product as well as the whole process. We would definitely use them again in the future.

ScottRyan Design was hired initially to complete a few renos (floors, kitchen, painting) to an existing property (approx. 35 years old) with the main focus of opening up the first floor by removing a supporting wall between the kitchen and the living/dining areas. They specifically asked before commencing the project whether a permit was necessary and we said "no". Not too long into the project, we were notified that a permit was necessary which put a halt on all construction. Ryan and his team, took care of the necessary steps to obtain the permit while informing us of progress and what could be done while we await the permit. Even though the project was now delayed, ScottRyan rejigged their other scheduled jobs to accommodate us - not an easy task I'm sure! Throughout the project we added other renos, such as, gutting the bathroom, new windows, new staircase, painting the basement, etc. All these requests and changes were handled in a professional manner, always ensuring we were happy and understood the process. All trades were respectful of our time and space. At the end of each day, someone from ScottRyan, mostly Ryan, would come by the site to check in with the trade and communicate to us the next step. We are extremely pleased with the end result. Quality of work and the interaction with the trades and members of ScottRyan's team was excellent and made this experience less stressful and enjoyable at times. My wife and I purchased a home in the Beaches which required some ‘love’. We’d never renovated a house before but with optimism and excitement - we jumped right in. Quick learning curve... Generally what you hear about a renovation you realize to be true. - it costs more than you think - it’s time consuming - can cause frustrations; and more Regardless - we had a renovation floor plan designed and got to work with the ScottRyan team. From the start, our new best friends Scott, Ryan and their team were extremely supporting, transparent and we relied heavily on their expertise. Our estimated time of completion was 4 months. ScottRyan has us in our home in 2.5. Our key learnings. The ScottRyan fleet of employees, partners and contractors provide top quality work. The only hiccups we faced were with our own friends/family we hired (albeit - That’s the only change looking back we would avoid). Communicate often. Scott was always calling with updates, questions and providing clarity. It helped set expectations and we knew exactly what we were getting. Quality makes a HUGE difference. There are things in life you can afford to cheap-out-on. I don’t recommend that for your own home and neither will this team. Our trim, hand sculpted crown moulding, and all the other small details and attention to detail make our home our most favourite place for our growing family. Lastly - after all is said and done, and we look back on our experience... it was the opposite of what you’d expect. - we learned a lot about our home and the renovation process - our daily experience with the reno was positive and we always looked forward to the next phase - we enjoyed being a part of the process; and we owe this to the ScottRyan team. This was our first major renovation and ScottRyan made the entire 6 month experience positive and relatively stress free. We gutted our main floor and basement and we found ScottRyan to be professional throught the process of developing the scope of work and providing frequent communication. Despite a lengthy permit from the Town of Oakville, ScottRyan recovered the time lost and finished our job on schedule. Issues were dealt with quickly and effectively. ScottRyan was working in harmony with Misani, our Kitchen renovation contractor for six weeks. We live in a large 30 year old condo. building. They stripped it to the bare concrete walls, and ceiling. Ryan managed all aspects of the construction. He was always available on his cellphone to discuss any issues. He looked after reconstructing old doorways into archways, drywalling, electrical installation, plumbing, tiling and painting. Our concierge complimented all of ScottRyan’s employees and subcontractors for their courtesy in working with all the paperwork, elevator and condo. rules. Their timing fitted well with Misani’s cabinitry and granite installation. Their pricing was reasonable. We will be happy to have them redo our bathrooms. Dr Michael White

We had Scott/Ryan finish our unfinished basement. The project scope included putting in a 3 piece bathroom with a glass shower, a 5th bedroom/gym area and an open entertainment space including pre wiring of AV cables. We were quite pleased with how the overall project turned out, the exceptional attention to detail that Scott/Ryan and their team had and the cleanliness while on site. Further, Scott/Ryan communicated and detailed clearly from the onset, the scope of work, timelines along with key milestone dates which was more or less met. The only issue they came up was a certain issue with a sub trade that was out of their control which delayed the project by 1-2 weeks. In addition to the quality of the work itself, Scott/Ryan was great at keeping us in the loop of the decisions that needed to be made by us, the work that was being completed on the day/week and any potential project creep (along with coming to a workable solution for such instances for everyone involved). After dealing with Scott/Ryan and seeing the overall quality of work that they have delivered, I would have no hesitation in using them again for future projects or recommending them to other people.

For reference this was our second project using ScottRyan and the 4th renovation we'd completed in the past 10 years. We first had them in to complete a job that had been poorly handled by our prior contractors. ScottRyan always showed-up when they said they would, got the job done right and fast for the price they had quoted and we got the house listed and sold fast thanks to them. When it came time for us to renovate the new house, in our minds there was only one real option. That said, we had others come in to quote anyway and though some were cheaper and most weren't, ScottRyan's ideas and contacts made them our choice. We had initially intended to do more of a cosmetic job, but between their creative ideas and access to resources, ScottRyan made the case for a more complete and efficient remodel of the whole home. Along the way they were great at keeping trades on-track and in-line, anticipating issues and coming to us with creative and cost-effective solutions, and always being easy to deal with and transparent. Our kids love them too. Looking back I can honestly say that the only thing we regret is not having listened to them about every issue. It is also worth noting that we have since seen friends use them for a project of similar scope which was a huge success, further bolstering our confidence in the team. We will recommend these guys every time: it comes down to having contractors with integrity, experience, and who make a sometimes stressful experience worth the money and effort.

This older home in the heart of the City has wonderful character. Renovating the kitchen space required consultation with engineers and SCOTTRYAN Design Build to maximize the layout and design of custom cabinetry. The knowledge of this team is second to none and creates an easy work environment to complete on time and on budget!

They're terrific. They are smart, on time, on budget, very hands-on and no surprises. They have done several projects for us now, so if I wasn't happy the first time around, they wouldn't have gotten through the door again.
