Phil and his team (especially René) did an incredible job adding a powder room, coat closet, and pantry to our house. Phil was so easy to work with - he came over shortly after I reached out to take a look, provided a very accurate, reasonable quote without fuss (a refreshing change after a bad experience with another company), and got the job done quickly and on schedule. He was very responsive throughout the project and always kept me updated - he stopped by the project at least every couple days to check on progress. His crew was extremely professional and friendly, and always made sure the workspace (in the center of our house) was cleaned up at the end of the day. Most importantly, everything turned out beautifully in the end. I would highly recommend him (and already have to family and friends), and can’t wait to bring him in for the next project.

Started on the date agreed to, even came on weekend make up day from a rained out weekday. Walk thru before final payment addressed items, correctly quickly. Good work.

Phil did a great job for us - he took a back porch and created a family room for us. He also added on a mudroom/laundry room. He was on time and on budget. He was easy to work with, and a good communicator. We are very happy with our new room.

I could not recommend this guy more highly. The project - a new construction garage with a roofdeck and garden - was pretty complicated. The architectural plans were very detailed and required careful implementation regarding footers, retaining walls, slopes, stairs, drainage, gutters and a rain barrel. There were also multiple inspections with the city, as the project had required a 'special exception' to zoning requirements. Phil had a very solid team of subcontractors who were all good tradesmen and he was on the job almost daily, going over the plans with them, keeping on top of details and making sure everything was going in the right direction before getting too far along. There were a few unanticipated bumps, as there always are, and Phil just hammered them out. He also has a very good eye for design and offered some great ideas regarding color and style. As the project wound down he and the architect took a final walk thru and found a few things that needed attention and Phil took care of it straightaway. The final product is fantastic - look great, functions just like it was designed to do, no drainage or other problems - overall a total success.

Our renovation consisted of three bathrooms, kitchen, mudroom, and resizing three bedrooms. It was completed in four months despite such a big project and the ongoing pandemic. Communication was excellent and the price was fair (had two other quotes for comparison). When we had any issues or changes to be paid, it was done to our satisfaction. Would highly recommend.

Phil not only did a fantastic job of communicating with us throughout the project, we were also really impressed by the way he helped us get organized (what materials to order, when they needed to arrive, etc.) to ensure the job went smoothly. We're very happy with how everything turned out, and we loved getting to know Phil!

From the first conversation, it was cleat that Phil was going to work with us to make sure we got everything we wanted out of our project. Now at the end of the project, we are very pleased that Phil and his team more than delivered on their promise and exactly on budget as first discussed (with the exception of our own upgrade requests). I’ve thoroughly enjoyed working with PLJConstruction. Phil is fantastic and works well with you to get you what you want. We’ve been in our house for over six years now. We’ve done side projects here and there with different contractors, and Phil is head and shoulders above the rest. There are a few key factors that lead me to make this recommendation: -He has a great eye to get things done the right. When he walks through a project, he catches things that I (you) may not even catch. If it’s not up to his standard; he will have it ripped out and re-done properly without haggling for additional cost. -He’s a great consultant that will talk through different ideas with you to ensure that you get the maximum out of the limited space that you may have to live with. -The subcontractors he works with are top notch - his electrician, in particular, is a true professional not out to cut corners but deliver a quality, esthetically pleasing product. We initially hired PLJConstruction to refurbish an extension to our house and finish part of our basement. We will definitely be working with Phil again as we continue to modernize our aging home.

I used services of P.L. Johnson Construction recently for three major projects after a recent move in construction of a pre fab shed, driveway fence, and the installation of exterior exhaust vent fan. The work on all three jobs was top notch from the pre planning to the final clean up. I will definitely keep Phil's number as the first call as major jobs arise.
