It became apparent to my husband and myself that we are aging and have reached a time in our lives when we need to scale down. We talked to our realtor and had the good fortune to find a home in town, in a nice neighborhood with a small lot! We put our condo and beach home on the market. Our realtor told us about Pillows and Porches, so we called on them. Michelle and Carol are two charming, energetic women! We have been very pleased with the results of their guidance. They helped us transfer our furnishings from our homes to our new home by consolidating and eliminating what would fit and what wouldn’t fit, and purchasing pieces to fill in. My husband and I contemplated remodeling the basement and kitchen in our 100 year old home for 8 years. However, we felt overwhelmed choosing the optimal design and by the overall design process. After hearing horror stories about "flakey" contractors, as well as design regrets from several friends who remodeled, we were very hesitant to take on a project. Thankfully we were connected with Carol and Michelle at Pillows and Porches. We recently finished our 3-year remodel of a 1963 house we purchased in Gig Harbor. While the main floor living area came together and met our "vision", we struggled with the basement familyroom (lovingly referred to as "The Cave"). A Cave it is no longer. Thanks to the talents of Michelle and Carol, our walkout basement family room (which our adult daughters used to say reminded them of "grandma's house") is now a bright, airy, cheerful room. Instead of avoiding going down there, we now look forward to our evening movies or dvr'd programs. Michelle and Carol discussed my vision with what I hoped to accomplish, surveyed the project and asked all pertinent questions (how and who uses the room most?) One thing they pointed out was that the main floor "flowed", but didn't tie in with the basement at all. They came back with a plan that was put into effect 100%. Additionally, when we had a minor issue with the leg of a table we purchased for the room, they doggedly followed up with the store, then personally delivered the replacement. We are thrilled with the new familyroom (no longer referred to as The Cave). Michelle and Carol are easy to work with, attentive to detail, and delivered as promised--a lovely new room that flows beautifully with the rest of our home. I can't thank them enough!
