Repeat customer review! Jesse Gramajo and his team built our house in 2020. In our review below, we said we'd work with them again without hesitation - and it's true! This year, we remodeled our garage into an ADU. Jesse and his team's work on the project exceeded our expectations, which were already high from our prior experience. Jesse and every one of the folks he works with share a commitment to ensuring things turn out exactly right. They do not cut corners, and we have complete confidence in how Jesse handles the unexpected. Jesse has high standards - in our ADU project there were a few occasions when reality was a little less straightforward than our original assumptions, and Jesse found a way in each instance to go beyond mere problem solving and focus instead on an even better outcome. Jesse is an excellent and direct communicator, and we had complete transparency every step of the way through our project. He is a professional and a pleasure to work with, and we enjoyed our interactions with each and every one of the guys he brought in to work on our ADU. We're quite fond of them, actually. They're craftsmen, and they work well together. There are a few projects in our neighborhood now that were built by Gramajo's Custom Homes, and one that is currently in progress. It's fun to drive by it and think about what a good experience this process can be and how nice it is to work with Jesse and his team.

Jesse came recommended through our architects, and their strong working relationship has been a benefit multiple times during the build. The communication when things came up was to a level that just wouldn’t be possible without any history, and the result was creative solutions that we loved. We picked Jesse because he came across as genuine and a good person, and he delivered on that throughout the project. On a two year plus project, things are going to happen, and we’re so thankful to have been able to work through issues and find solutions with someone like Jesse. He finds creative solutions, looks to pass savings on to you, and delivered a great house.l that we love. He sees the little things that I wouldn’t know to ask about and also takes care of the big things that aren’t on your radar. His team of subs is also something that I was especially thankful for. I had total trust in his guys which was important as the house transitioned over to us from being his construction site to our home. Last but not least the punch list. Jesse is the kind of old school GC that is hard to find in LA these days. He’s hands on, can swing the hammer and has a team of committed, well-trained builders. He has depth of knowledge & experience when it comes to assemblies and how materials come together, and he is highly focused on quality craftsmanship. Contrast this with the business-first builders you see everywhere now who outsource knowledge to their subs and have a shallow understanding of what goes into a house. As an architect with 15 years of experience in high-end luxury projects, having built my own home with him now, I can attest to the value he brings. You need to be an owner who cares about these things as well- that values giving the project appropriate time and budget, that wants to work collaboratively with him… then he will deliver an amazing project. He’s old school, so anticipate being very communicative and working with a lot of trust.

We hired Jesse of Gramajo's Custom Homes Inc. to completely remodel our 1600 sqft Venice home originally built in the 1950s. At the onset of the project and throughout its entirety, Jesse and his team were professional, courteous, and a pleasure to work with. The execution and craftsmanship of every detail of our home was truly perfect. The remodel was almost an entire new build with our previous home taken down to the studs. Gramajo's Custom Homes Inc built a new foundation for our home, replaced all of the plumbing and electrical with precision and high quality work. The design of our home included steel beams for support and custom cabinetry throughout. Jesse genuinely cares about the quality of his work and took extra steps to ensure the aesthetics of our home were flawless. We are so happy with our new home and would highly recommend Jesse as a contractor.

Jesse is honest, reliable, and trustworthy. From day one, he has guided me through the process of building a home from the ground up (completely new construction). He has taken great care of keeping me informed every step of the way and has helped me through some of the toughest decisions. He was upfront about his estimate and promised we would be within budget and he has stuck to his every word. The quality of his work is also unmatched. I've seen so many homes go up lately and the contractors are cutting corners and you can totally tell in their finished product. Jesse's work is impeccable. I can't wait to show off the finished product!

My wife and I recently finished a major renovation of our house. We worked with an architecture firm and with Jesse Gramajo, of Gramajo’s Custom Homes. The work involved a complete renovation of the existing house and the addition of about 500 square feet. We had never done anything like this before. We were incredibly lucky to work with Jesse. Gramajo’s Custom Homes is a family business and Jesse was involved in every step of construction. He was personally on site much of the time and was willing to meet with us whenever we wanted. He answered all our emails and texts quickly and he was always professional and fun to talk to. Jesse takes pride in what he does and is a real craftsman. He pays a great deal of attention to details. The people who work for him are all people he works with regularly and are all energetic, friendly, and highly skilled. Everyone who helped build the house really cared about what they were doing. Every step of the way, we were impressed by Jesse’s profound depth of knowledge and experience. He worked well with our architects, smoothly translating and extending their ideas into a well-crafted reality. He knew what it would take to make each aspect of the project work; he was able to plan ahead and get things done right the first time. We are finished with the house now, and it’s really beautiful. If we ever build or renovate again, we won’t bother to interview anyone else.

Gramajo's Custom Homes Inc. built my duplex at 3748 Greenfield Avenue, Los Angeles. Each unit has three bedrooms, three and half bathrooms (including one steam shower in master bathroom), and one elevator. Complete AV and security systems for each unit. Total built area is about 4,500 sq ft and cost me about $1.4 millions. Not only Gramajo's craftsmanship is firs rate; they are capable of suggesting improvement on the fly on top of approved architect plans. In my opinion, all the off-the-cuff improvement they suggested and completed to my duplex have increased not only the value but also my enjoyment of the duplex. My experience can be summarized like this: Gramajo's indeed built a nice, high quality duplex for me, however I can only appreciate what they built by actually living in it. And the longer I live in it, the more I enjoy and appreciate this high built-quality and functioning (high tech smart home) duplex they built for me.

We hired Jesse and his team at Gramajo's Custom Homes in April of 2018 to remodel our 1,500 sq ft single story home in West Los Angeles, which essentially meant tearing down everything but one post and building a new two-story structure plus a 500 sq ft guest house. He had previously worked with our architects (Hsu McCullough), and their recommendation was important to us. Working with Jesse was at all times smooth and enjoyable. He is experienced and professional, always calm, and ready to provide a range of possibilities based on his wide knowledge of both construction and design. Jesse's core crew of workers accomplish many of the tasks that are often farmed out to subcontractors; while this can lead to a longer time frame, it also means Jesse has very tight control of quality and cost. The results in our house are clearly noticeable, with a high level of craftsmanship and pride in their work evident in everything from the beautiful cabinets to the painting and tile placement. Every detail is thought through, not rushed. I would not only recommend Jesse to others, I wouldn't hesitate to hire him again myself.

There are two things that have really stood out after working with Jesse Gramajo: he is honest, and he stands by his work. These qualities seem incredibly rare in this field based on horror stories I've heard from friends, and it's why I have and will continue to recommend Jesse to anyone doing a major renovation or new build. From the bidding process all the way through completion of our project and beyond, Jesse was honest with his numbers and worked hard to make sure the quality and details of the work were right. Whenever problems did arise, he was calm, easy to work with and able to find solutions to achieve what we were after. In over a year of working with Jesse, I never saw him flustered or frustrated. There are plenty of stories I could share, but the bottom line is that Jesse did a beautiful job and stayed true to his bid and has continued to stand by his work. I feel so fortunate that we found him and wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend him to anyone building a home.
