Garrett is a artist and craftsman. He redid my staircase to the exact look I wanted down to the smallest of detail. Very Very honest and upfront. I was very precise in what i wanted and he delievered my exact vision. I could not be happier and recommend him enough. I tried dealing with his competitors before finding Garrett and Im so happy they could not even show up to give bids. This was not a cheap Home Dept reconstruction but a custom built staircase. Im certain the added value to my home will cover cost of project. I will never use anyone but Old Market Forge.

Garrett is a great craftsman, an artist and a gentleman. He is one of the few contractors who always does what he says he will do. He respected our ideas, offered suggestions and in the end our stairway project exceeded all expectations. Garrett is a perfectionist and it shows in every detail of the project. In the midst of a complex and lengthy renovation of our home, Garrett become the one person we could count on to get things done. And done with great consideration for all elements of the project and how his work fit into the overall artistic concept. Garret used his ingenuity and skill to create beautiful barn doors for several rooms, handcrafting the hardware and finishing the beetle kill doors. But the centerpiece of our home and the showcase for Garrett's talent is the stairway and railing. Not satisfied with some suggested finishes, Garrett suggested a simple rust --- a wonderful and beautiful choice. As a custom home Builder in Boulder CO, I have hired Old Market Forge on multiple projects including custom steel guardrails & handrails, custom built window well covers & ladders, and even custom designed furniture pieces incorporating beautiful steel work with reclaimed wood materials. Some of the more challenging projects have involved very intricate layouts and complicated radius work. Others involved numerous small intricate details, all needing to be well executed to properly pull of the full impact of the design. The owner Garrett has always been accurate with estimates, timely in completion of work, and willing to go that extra mile to make the difference between a good job and an amazing job. The two biggest benefits I have found in working with Garrett over other local metal fabricators are the great communication that takes place before and throughout the project, and the consistent attention to detail that each project receives, no matter how large or small. Before working with Old Market Forge, I had trouble even finding a local metal shop willing to help with smaller metal projects.. On larger projects I often would get frustrated about the lack of communication happening during the fabrication process. No matter how small or large the project, I have always felt that Garrett and his crew truly care about the project and want to make sure that it turns out as well as possible. Another thing that has really made a good impression on me is the attention that they have given to keeping my job sites clean and protecting existing finishes during installs. Going as far as creating custom sized panels to protect hardwood floors during install, or building small welding tents around there work areas to ensure that not sparks or small metal splinters could damage any of the brand new finishes around there work area. This is a very important thing to a homebuilder or homeowner and these guys get it!! There are few different options for metal work in the Boulder area but none, in my opinion, offer the consistently high level of quality work, and outstanding service that Old Market Forge does. We hired Garrett, owner of Old Market Forge, last fall to create some new hand rails for our outdated 80's style home that was being remodeled. We were so pleased we continued into the kitchen, where he forged some custom shelf brackets out of heavy iron. Our biggest project was a custom table, 8 1/2 feet, using reclaimed barn wood and a heavy iron base. It is a show stopper. When we have guests over now, they notice the table right away, then the cool shelves, and then the hand rails. Garrett's prices are very reasonable, plus he meets with you and sketches off your ideas first. We are very satisfied customers and will continue to hire him when I can think of another project for him to complete!
