My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

About Us

Quality, innovation, personalized and timely service delivery are some of the characteristics that Robert Barnes & Associates,Inc. has developed to become one of the most unique design groups in South Florida. We are a professional architectural design firm located in the downtown Historic District of Homestead, Florida. From 1978 Robert Barnes & Associates, Inc. has been serving the South Dade and Florida Keys area including such notable projects as the Key Largo Chamber of Commerce, the Old Homestead City Hall, and the Pan American Satellite Engineering and Operations Facility. Directed by Robert Barnes, our team comprises Architects, Engineers, Interior Designers, Construction Managers, Draftspersons and Inspectors whose experience and ethical dedication to their profession speak through their projects. Robert Barnes is a member of the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) and its Miami Chapter (MAIA). The Firm received the 1992 FAME Award for Overall Product on two custom residences built in Ocean Reef Club, Key Largo and in 1994 we received a merit award from the Florida Trust for Historical Preservation for City of Homestead’s “Old Town Hall”. The Firm also received two 1994 FAME Awards. The Firm was awarded two (2) 1995 FAME Awards for Custom Single-Family Homes. Most recently the firm was awarded a Grand Award for the Morada Bay Beach Café and Bar and Merit award for the Losner Park and Band Shell by the Commercial Builder’s Council and an outstanding achievement award by the Industrial Fabrics Association International.

Our family hired Robert Barnes and Associates to help us build a dream home in Islamorada, FL. Robert Barnes made himself and his firm's resources available to us in every way possible right from the start.. We blended ideas and made several changes along the way. Each and every time that we needed him, he was there! Robert's vision for a project is as awesome. He designs projects that are strong, dependable and not overly complex to build and he pays very close attention to every detail. He also listens to his clients, asks lots of questions and focuses on meeting the needs for the desired outcome. In addition to being a tremendous design expert, Robert Barnes worked very well with our GC. As you would imagine, they were ahead of every issue that could possibly come up on a million dollar plus home project. Robert was not only easy for us to work with but his knowledge, skill, professionalism and inter-personal skills shined when he needed to work with local building authorities and/or other professionals working on the job. Robert Barnes and Associates is a solid choice for architectural work and we will be using his firm again for our future building needs.

I am a dentist and have hired Robert Barnes and Associates for three different dental offices and also my own home for architectural design and plans. My first job was in 1983. and my most recent recent job was just completed last week. They are the best! The work is first rate, accurate, timely and fair in price. Robert has excellent technical and functional knowledge combined with amazing esthetic creativity. His staff interacted seamlessly between Robert and myself to make the experience expedient and pleasing! I want to take this opportunity to thank Robert and Richard for all their hard work and dedication and highly recommend them.

I call Robert Barnes Archictural work Deep Architecture. It is not only stylistically exciting and beautiful it is also healthy and energy efficient. The spaces are designed and proportioned to resonate upliftment and health. It works - he has few equals any where.

I had the opportunity to work with Robert Banes & Associates in the renovation of a medical clinic in south Florida. The excellent work provided by Robert Barnes and his team in the design of the two story building. The details provided on the construction drawings made the renovation process a seedy route to completion. As the General Contractor selected for this project, I felt Robert Barnes acted as a partner with not only the owner, but with each member of our construction team. Architect- Contractor coordination and communication was crucial in completing this project on time. The Cooperation and Collaboration extended by Robert and his team was greatly appreciated and resulted in a truly enjoyable project experience for everyone involved.
