Tesi Design, Inc. Interiors and Cabinetry

Unless you’re comfortable spending a $2000 deposit on cabinets without seeing any form of a visual, look elsewhere for a designer. We paid $250 for what we were told numerous times would be a kitchen ‘design.’ What we received is nothing more than a quote for cabinetry (we never even saw or selected cabinetry) and a very brief recap of our consultation. When I received this quote email, I asked for the preliminary floor plan she states she did, assuming she must have forgotten to attach it. She curtly replied with ‘No, I believe that I explained it would only be a quote. That is why I gave you an explanation.’ At no point were we told we were paying $250 for a quote for cabinetry. My husband and I both had the same takeaway after meeting with her, and the expectation was set by her that we would receive a rough draft floor plan of a kitchen remodel, and a 3D floor plan once we decided to move forward. Additionally, the turnaround time for this was just shy of two weeks, when we were told one week. When I told her we would not be paying $2000 blindly without seeing any design, rather than send me the design or even offer to meet me somewhere to review it together in person, her ‘solution’ was to offer me to walk through her former client’s homes to see how satisfied they are. To recap, we were clear we were looking for a full kitchen design and instead we received a quote for cabinets (unsure of what kind, as I never selected anything) that we were expected to pay for, sight unseen. I requested a refund, which she denied.

Virginia did an excellent job of guiding me through the process of a complex bathroom renovation, including drawings, material selection and follow though with the contractor. It's beautiful.

We hired Virginia to plan a kitchen remodel as well as turning one large bath into 2 bathrooms. Virginia is very easy to work with. We have very similar tastes and that made picking tile, fixtures, etc... a pleasure. She truly listens to what you want and researches and finds all you need to make the project perfect. Her plans are professional and concise which made construction a much easier process. We highly recommend Virginia Tesi Designs for renovations or interior design projects.

I had a chance to consult with Virginia recently on an Upper East Side co-op apartment. I found VIrginia to be a very responsible designer. She proactively worked to answer her client's architectural questions while saving them money in unnecessary expenses. These costs easily add up.

Virginia is the one person you want working for you. She is on top of everything with all vendors. I wanted new window treatments. She reviewed my home, made suggestions brought me swatches and we selected. I was truly happy with the finished product. She gave me a time frame and the treatments were done on schedule and under budget. She has a great eye for style and listening to my visions to produce exactly what I wanted. I am now working with her on other parts of my home. I can't wait for the next project to be done.
