Lark Architecture

AVOID AT ALL COSTS. We started a project with Jessica in January 2019 and it is STILL not complete. Everything started very well and she designed a beautiful home as a second floor addition, but everything soon fell apart. She has ghosted us several times; all her contact methods went dark; she consistently told us progress was being made on the permits, but after contacting the city buildings department, we found no work had been done as she told us. We have have THREE permit applications get deleted from the permit system because of lack of progress for six months. Jessica was ALWAYS there with another invoice for work supposedly done, but no progress was visible. There was ALWAYS an excuse / reason (sickness, email server problem, error in the EPlan system, etc.), but never real progress. We finally had to file complaints with the city, state and AIA because of all the issues we have had with Jessica. After almost 4 years and about $20K, we have NOTHING usable for our project. We hired Lark to help remodel our house. Nearly a year and a half and a few thousand dollars later we have no construction documents and have had to hire a new architect. We were ghosted for several months mid project with no refund of deposit or handing over of documents that had already been paid for. We have had to hire a new architect and start the entire process over losing time and money. Also, our bills were paid in full, and I have the receipts.

Everything started well but after several rescheduling to show us the sketches we ultimately ended up ghosted. It's been weeks of trying to get in touch with Jessica and there is no way to get even an acknowledgment. Never got to see the sketches/drafts, never got any reason for this, nothing. Just took our money and disappeared.

Jessica at Lark Architecture was so great to work with! She is incredibly knowledgable while still being friendly and easy to understand. She took into consideration my priorities and turned them into an amazing design. I felt confident in her work every step of the way! The project was finished better than I could imagine and under budget! She also connected me to several excellent contractors along the way. Jessica is a true professional and I cannot say enough positive things about our work together!

I got to know Jessica of Lark Architecture through our builder. He depended on her to make sure the many details of our home's construction were done correctly and efficiently. She didn't hesitate to give her opinion on many facets of our construction from wall placement, room size, appliance selection, counter tops, cabinets, fixture sizes and finishes and so much more. When we had questions, she offered to get on the phone or come by with drawings of her visions. She was also very conscious of cost and how to make the most of what we wanted, recommending when we should spend more and when we should cut back. I would recommend Jessica for both architecture or interior design.

Lark brought great inspiration and vision to our collaboration. Their firm pushed us to expand our horizons, move past our comfort zone, and ultimately develop a much better end product.
