Dave Johnson did a wonderful job taking my yard from a barren eyesore to an outdoor oasis! It's been 4 years since the project was completed and I still get compliments from my neighbors and people asking me who did the design. I don't hesitate to refer people to Dave. He has an incredible eye for design and communicates with you through the entire project, including follow up once the job is complete. You won't be disappointed!

Dave is incredible. I would never use anyone else. He transformed our weirdly shaped, sad backyard into a functional oasis we still love and use today. Thanks to his skill and vision I feel like my home has expanded square footage for indoor and outdoor living. It may be my favorite thing about my home.

Dave has been a delight to work with over the several past years. We live on a historic parkway in Denver and his design for the transition from house to parkway is stunning and really quite brilliant! When I tell people where we live the response is often "I know that house, Wow." He has always been available for consultation on numerous issues and very helpful as our property has matured and evolved. He also has a very rare quality, he listens to you! The work is always evolving so the completion date is current.

Decided you want to do some landscaping, but not sure what to do next? We called Dave, and are so glad we did. We also called some design/build landscaping firms, who we quickly realized, were more interested in our wallets and fitting into their schedule than helping us realize a landscape that is a unique expression of us as homeowners. Retaining walls, masonry, hardscapes, gardens, irrigation, etc were all part of our plans. Our home is a >100 year old Victorian, so a classic look was appropriate. Dave worked with us to understand our goals and really took the time to get to know us and how we would use the landscape. He met us where we were in terms of landscaping knowledge and expertise. Dave produced a multi-phase landscape design based on our conversations and some sketches. The first draft came quickly, and we worked together until the plans were just right. He was always patient with us. Of equal importance - Dave introduced us to multiple quality contractors who bid on the work. We ended up really enjoying working with the family-run landscaping company who executed the work, bringing them back for each phase until all work was complete. We not only love the end results, we now get compliments all the time from neighbors and complete strangers walking by our house. In an industry of highly variable quality and cost, Dave's knowledge and experience gave us great comfort and clear direction. He produces clear, accurate landscape designs. He has excellent plant knowledge (including xeric options). He has personal experience with numerous landscaping companies. He acted as our advocate during the execution phase. He went to the nursery to pick out plants with us. He's also just a nice guy.

Dave is passionate about landscape design, plants, and working with clients to create the best landscape for all seasons. We have worked with Dave over many years and projects that have enhanced our outdoor living spaces around our home in Park Hill. Dave is very knowledgeable and creates artistic designs that feature plantings that thrive and mature beautifully over time; his hardscape design features took our backyard from "ho-hum" to "wonderful", creating areas where we can relax and enjoy the space. Last year when we lost a historic, beautiful blue spruce tree due to wind damage, Dave helped us envision a new look for the area, and designed a garden space that beautifully connects and enhances the landscape in our front yard. Dave is wonderful to work with. His enthusiasm and passion for his work is contagious. He designed the most functional and beautiful deck and planting for our backyard. It was a sloped and difficult space to work with but Dave managed to create a design that maximized the space and felt sophisticated for hosting friends.
