Detail by Design

As a cabinet maker, I love working with a professional kitchen designer to make sure the space is not only beautiful but is designed to NKBA standards. Natalia from Detail by Design is my go-to person for my designs and is one of the first people I talk to when someone contacts me about a kitchen project. Long before anything gets built we all work together to create a design that fits the people, the space and conforms to NKBA standards. Natalia is also a Certified Living In Place Professional which means she is going to design a space that will work for people's changing needs as they age. Our project consisted in expanding and re-thinking the functionality of an ensuite and an adjacent master bathroom with the addition of about 40 square feet to the existing floor plan. Natalia got involved from the very beginning. I explained my vision of the project and our family needs and Natalia came back with drawings that captured the essence of what would truly become our dream bathrooms. Natalia is very detailed oriented and extremely knowledgeable about the products of her multiple suppliers. She designed beautiful and functional cabinets that are perfectly fitted for the space. Natalia works with a very experienced and professional contractor team who was efficient and extremely respectful of our environment while performing the work. Our experience working with Natalia and her team has been very positive.

Natalia provides a very knowledgeable and friendly service. She answered all our questions, revised our plans as necessary, and was always willing to do more with a smile.

When I was building a large lake house in East Texas, I had problems with the kitchen design my architect planned. I connected with Natalia Pierce through Detail by Design through Houzz.com. She quickly and easily understood the problems with the current design, then provided valuable suggestions to correct those problems. In addition, she had a vast knowledge of space requirements needed to assure practical needs would be meet, as well as a wonderful designer eye and understanding to make my lake house kitchen exactly the style I was after. Natalia had many strengths, but what was the most amazing to me was that, although our communication was long distance, and therefore based on e-mail communication only, she was also able to understand what my desires were, as far as how I function in my kitchen on a daily basis, but also when our large family is all together for big gatherings. She was able to either incorporate the things I wanted into her plans, or else make suggestions to improve upon what I had asked for. She patiently provided drawing after drawing, and in the end, designed a kitchen that not only met, but vastly exceeded my expectations. Lastly, some of Natalia's decorative suggestions that would have taken my kitchen to the next level were, at the time of building, a bit out of our price range, but they are things that could easily be added at a later time, with almost no additional expense. I appreciate her being able to design a beautiful, upscale kitchen, yet fully understanding the limits of our budget. After living in our home several months now, I love the look and the functionality of my kitchen, and guests agree that it's the most functional and beautifully designed one they've been in! Natalia takes such pride in her work. I was thrilled she made a trip to Texas and was able to see her work in person. Natalia spent the time to understand our needs and desires for the new kitchen. We discussed the design and made modifications. Natalia was there to deal with issues on install and helped make everything work.

We had a difficult space to renovate. It was a kitchen in a house from the 1949's...tough!!! Detail by Design took this challenge. We were very impressed with the quality of proffessionals Natalia used. The quality of products was also outstanding. The end product is a kitchen we are so pleased to cook and create in!! Natalia is a pleasure to work with. When we started our project, we approached 4 different cabinetry suppliers looking for the one that best fit our project's needs. Our key criteria was working together as we had a number of concepts that we wanted incorporated into the overall project's design. We also wanted to get as much as we could for the budget that we had set, without compromising the quality of the finished product. The project had its usual construction problems - items and workmen not arriving when they should have, however, Natalia handled this so well. It made for an interesting time as we and our other sub-contractors worked to stay one step ahead of her and her cabinetry installation crew. Her attention to detail, costs and follow-up is one of her greatest strengths. The end product is a show piece! We get so many favourable comments and praise for the work that was done, and I'm sure that this will result in more work for Detail by Design.

Detail by Design prepared our kitchen design to renovate and fully update the "cottage" kitchen that existed in the home we bought. I love cooking and entertaining, as well as just relaxing and enjoying my kitchen space. These facts were incorporated in an elegant, functional, and very pleasing kitchen design such that this room has become the new favorite visiting area. Suggestions as to specific design/layout, cabinet features, sink & faucet styles, lighting, and appliances were provided; options discussed; and items sourced. Similarly, the necessary contractors were hired and organized such that installation was smoothly completed. Our experience with Detail by Design was very good and I would readily recommend the company.
