Superior Stone Tile is a Traverse City based family company, specializing in designing and creating handcrafted tile for your home. Our stones come from all over, but we are known for our stones collected from Lake Superior. Superior Stones are vibrant and are unlike any other variety nature has to offer. Each stone is hand picked, transported, cut and either sold ‘loose’ or as a pre-matted product for easy installation. Though there are many copies out there, we have developed a product that surpasses any imitators. Much of what we gather can range from a wide assortment of granite varieties, iron rich shale, all sorts of conglomerates (yes some "Pudding Stone"), agates, banded iron stone and so much more. To accompany and accent our Superior Stone Tile, we offer the option of adding cut Petoskeys to your order. Petoskey, is Michigan's State Stone and is highly sought after. Petoskeys are a great point of pride to Michiganders, not only because of their beauty, but also their rarity; being exclusively found in Northern Michigan. Their increasing popularity is creating a high demand for them, as well as making them harder to acquire. Though Superior Stone Tile's stones are cut for tile setting purposes, feel free to contact, Operations Manager~ Erika, for the sale of whole uncut, unpolished Petoskey stones. Besides for flooring or tiling purposes, there has been an increasing need for raw Petoskeys, with an ever growing list of creative applications.
