I have 2 large trees in the front yard and wanted to relandscape the area but was hesitant because of the trees' many surface roots. I consulted with Robert Apolinar, certified arborist. The landscape designer, Noe Banales, listened to my concerns and desires which included fencing, walkway, microclover, and water efficient landscaping. The crew, headed by Miguel was knowledgeable and quick. I also interacted with Karen in the front office who efficiently handled the business end. San Jose Tree Service is a business with skilled employees who are a pleasure to work with!

Noé is a magician! He took my jumbled list of wants and desires and must-haves and turned them into the yard of my dreams! I wanted this look but, the plant doesn't grow well in my area. With a wave of the magic wand, he substituted another plant that was very happy here and looked marvelous. I got exactly the look and feel I wanted- a SoCal high desert look, in the San José Bay Area climate. I also wanted low water and low maintenance -- now instead of every 2 weeks of maintenance, it is every 3 months! I am so happy with the entire process, from design through installation to follow-up. Everyone at San Jose Tree Service & Landscaping is knowledgeable and easy to work with. You can't go wrong if you use their services; I highly recommend them.

Robert was very professional and easy to work with. The team did a great job and I’m very pleased with the job they did in helping me maintain my trees. Additionally, they helped fertilize my palm trees which needed a bit of TLC. Thank you Robert and the rest of the San Jose Tree Service Team!

Robert showed up on time. He sent us pictures of the work to be done. Before his team left, they had me check out their work to make sure it was what I wanted. They cleaned up the area after trimming the trees. Very happy with the job they did.

They are fast, reliable and very professional! We are very pleased with their work and reports. I always call them if I need an arborist in my projects.

We had Robert come out and inspect our Norfolk Island pine . It was important to us to have a certified Arborist to do this . Upon his recommendations we had the tree pruned and thinned. We were apprehensive at first because we love this tree but know it needed to be done for the health of the tree. The team did an excellent job and were efficient at what they do, I would definitely use their services again. We are totally satisfied and my only suggestion would be a follow call from Robert to ensure all went well and complete customer satisfaction. Again, great job and thanks.

I have used Robert for many many tree removals at my home. I know I will get the most professional service with Robert and they always leave everything very clean when they are done. They've removed 3 of my very tall palm trees, a large tree that died in front yard and even had soil tested to see why it suddenly died. He also removed my tall Italian Cypress just a month back. Using Roberts company... nothing better!!

My wife and I do few reviews. We have been working with Robert and San Jose Tree Service for about 7 years. In my opinion, they are the best. Always responsive, fair pricing, and trustworthy. Their team members are professional and friendly. We use them for maintaining our 30 plus trees from spraying to thinning. Today, they just cut down a 50 foot pine tree, in the pouring rain, which was about to fall due to the wet soil. We will be customers as long as we live in the Los Gatos/San Jose area. And we highly recommend them.

Robert Apolinar is a great guy to work with. He knows his stuff as much through a family tradition and experience as through education. If he does not know something, he will say so and then research an answer for you. If one of his teams makes a mistake, he makes it right at no cost to the customer, and he does not try to minimize the issue. I have stuck with him for several years of various tree plantings and pruning for these reasons. Also, one should only use an arborist and specialized tree service for trees and he charges reasonable prices for that work. Regular gardeners may be cheaper but they are notoriously poor at understanding and managing plants that are more than 4 feet high, and they usually do not have the Workers Comp classification for tree trimming work to begin with (high off the ground work = higher workers comp risk categorization). All that said, his teams have been somewhat erratic in the quality of their work when he is not around. In our case, the first stakes they used to hold up a couple of new trees were not pounded far enough into the ground, leading to a damaged tree in the wind storms last year (nothing could withstand the rain and wind this year). He made any mistakes right as soon as he knew about them. Just stay in touch with him. I highly recommend him.

The bid was competitive. The crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, were friendly and responsive and cleaned up nicely. Five stars from start too finish.

Highly recommended. I needed immediate removal of a large tree that had snapped at the base and was leaning dangerously against my roof. The crew came right away after I called and took care of this problem. Impressed by their courtesy and professionalism.

These guys are great! In the early 2023 storms, a couple of major limbs from our giant cypress tree landed on our house and damaged the garage, so we had to remove the tree. The team that worked for over five days was very professional, safe, and warm-hearted. Gonzalo, the tree climber, did a superb job navigating high up, and I had confidence in the whole operation. There are may tree services out there, and ones which are much cheaper in price, but I am very glad that I opted for this highly professional company with good work and business ethics. Highly recommend!

I'd like to highly recommend San Jose Tree Service. Noe did a phenomenal job at helping us navigate through the decisions and we couldn't be happier with the end result. We just put an ADU in our backyard and were basically starting from scratch with nothing else, and also redid the front yard. It was a combination of Noe's extensive experience in transforming yards; the crews knowledge ability (they REALLY work hard and take pride in good work done); mixed with our general preferences and working with our budget. When finished, the backyard is even more functional and spacious with an ADU than before. We went with pavers; real grass (designed to keep away the moles who had taken over); stamped cement; fake grass; grounds cover plants on a small hillside; small retaining wall; mulch; decorative rocks; and clean up. Equally skilled in all areas. We worked with 2 different teams, Jose and Berto, and they both did a great job. The quote was very straight forward and we never had to worry about any "gotcha" costs the way it was structured. The company has been around a long time which is reassuring. One problem we had in the past was the person who put in grass was no where to be found when we realized the way they had laid out the irrigation system created a swamp land.

San Jose Tree Service is amazing! They were punctual and professional. Noe was easy to work with - he had great ideas but also accommodated our ideas. Our project was unique - it was 2 adjoining neighbors' yards with a bocce court in the middle. They executed our plan perfectly! We love the results and we loved working with Noe, Jose, Robert and the whole team!
