My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

What is the wood floor?

    The floors are heart pine with a grey wash stain. We diluted a grey stain son that it would be a more transparent stain to see the knots and grain of the heart pine.

      hey janie, this looks great. i want to refinish the knotty pine floor of a house we just bought. they're great and wide BUT a bit of that warm honey color (which I don;t like) do you think staining it (after sanding) would work ? What brand did you use and what did you dilute it with ? Sorry for the questions .

      All pine floors have a honey color, so after sanding them they should take a new finish fine. We actually used gesso that was thinned out with water and mopped on the floor to get the grey stained finish. If it was thick in any areas, they buffed it down and then applied a Bona Kemi industrial grade polyacrylic sealer.
