10 Budget-Friendly Tips for Fall Decorating
I know many of us are trying to be more cost-conscious these days, so I've been busy hunting down creative, budget-friendly ways to bring touches of the autumn season into our homes. As always, I had to look no further than Houzz for beautiful spaces bursting with autumn inspiration. Here are 10 ideas you can use today to welcome fall into your home:
Place a large tray or basket along with with a mug and a pitcher for hot chocolate or cider on your bed. It will be a nice way to warm up at the end of the day. On a side note, I love how "fallish" this room feels...yet, the colors incorporate a beautiful blue. If red, yellow and oranges are too much for your decor, this would be a great fall palette.
Bring fall into your bedroom. Here's an idea that costs a little initially...but is budget friendly in the years to come. If your bed is currently sporting linens in summery colors, consider tucking them away for the season and investing in a bedding set (comforter and shams) that's rich in fall hues. It's nice to give our summer linens a break...and they will last longer. If a new comforter/shams for fall just isn't in the budget, you could add a red, brown or gold blanket across the foot of the bed. Oh, don't forget the flannel sheets...so nice to snuggle down into on a chilly night.
Back in the day, before we were blessed with the luxury of air conditioning, folks rolled up their rugs and tucked them away for the summer. It gave the home a more open, cooler feel. Now would be a great time to bring some warm, wooly rugs into your home decor. I love the way this red rug cozys up this room...great place to curl up with a book on a crisp, fall day.
