Kit Pollard
home owner
location: Baltimore, Maryland, United States
about me: I'm a design and food-obsessed freelance writer and market research analyst, and a stay-at-home mom.
my favorite style: Modern, but with tons of personal touches
my next house project: I've been involved in one house project or another since we bought our house in 2005. Last year, we finished an addition (including a new kitchen) and just recently our master bathroom was completed (but I'm still looking for art). I'm also hunting for art for a brand new laundry room and basement powder room, finishing up a wine cellar, and dreaming about what we can do with the 2-story garage in the backyard.

As an aside, several of these rooms were designed...

Financially, though, it hurt a little - even with...
In an hour or so, the skies are set to open over my house in Baltimore, delivering some kind of record snowfall for the reason. I guess that's why I've got white on my mind.
Call me J.Lo, but I think white rooms are incredibly gorgeous, totally elegant, and wildly impractical. When I was a little...
The Barcelona Chair. It's a favorite of modernist designers and just about anybody who gets Dwell magazine. Simple, comfortable, neutral - it's a fantastic piece of furniture that deserves its iconic status.
