Blanchette is one of the most talented and creative people I am lucky to have worked with. Her eye for detail is incredible and she makes sure that the space is both functional and appeals to your desired vibe. I have worked with her on multiple projects and she has a way of making you feel like you are her only client during the duration of the project. Once again, she has created the most beautiful space for our family - one that is exactly what I envisioned yet accommodates a very busy lifestyle with two young children. She has an amazing way of choosing the perfect mix of furniture, paint colors, tiles, accessories , etc. that create a sense of luxury, function, beauty and peace. She is super organized and her management of the projects is standout. She is second to none and she is my go to every time. I couldn't be more grateful for her vision and flawless execution!!

B R Nelson Designs LLC, redesigned and totally modernized the original circa 1947 kitchen. She implemented some reconfiguring of the available space to give a more airy sense, while creating a more functional and compact kitchen. Designer met with intergenerational family members to obtain input and communicated effectively with one-man contractor. She made numerous visits to see progress, even during COVID-19 and fully observed social distancing. She accompanied me when I shopped for appliances and assisted in the selection of custom kitchen cupboards. She lugged in samples of materials for backsplash, countertops and executed a number of purchases. A consummate professional! Looking forward to working with her again!

She listened carefully, sent a MOA, researched the items, then emailed items for review and input on a dashboard. We went back & forth for awhile before finalizing & her patience was remarkable...I can be picky. After delivery she came by to ensure the placement of pieces and determine my satisfaction. Overall a great experience.

We worked with Blanch on re-doing the window treatments in our home, and really enjoyed the overall process and LOVE the end result. We've never worked with a designer before, but having worked with Blanch it's hard to imagine how you could get by without one. When we started, all I knew was that I hated our current window treatments (the vertical blinds in the photos - the roller shades and curtains are the final result) and for years had been wanting to get rid of them, but had no idea where to even begin. She helped us figure out what we wanted, wade through all the options, figure out the best pricing for our desired results, and patiently answered every single question before, during and after the process. My husband and I had different aspects of the project that were more important to us, and she was able to give us choices that we both really liked. She came to our home multiple times to get a feel for our tastes and current decor, go over options with us, did all the ordering and tailoring that needed to be done, and oversaw the final installation. She took a lot of care in the details and working with us throughout the process. (In contrast, before hiring Blanch I looked at some other options, including the free in-home consultations many vendors offer, but in every case their suggestions were off-the-shelf recommendations. Oftentimes designers didn't even bother to respond/answer my questions if they sensed I wasn't immediately ready to buy everything they suggested.) Blanch helped us figure out how to source what we wanted from different vendors to keep costs down, and the end result is something customized to our current decor as well as the idiosyncrasies of our home. These days, when we decide where we want to spend our money, it's based on what makes our lives better - and Blanch definitely made our lives and this whole process so much better and less stressful than it would have been if we tried to do it on our own. We can't recommend her highly enough!

I had the pleasure of working with Blanche Nelson of BR Nelson Designs LLC to redesign two bathrooms in my condo in New York. Blanche has made my bathroom dreams come through! With Blanche's help I converted one half bath in my guest room into a full bath with a gorgeous glass enclosed shower, and converted the only full bath into an en-suite for my master bedroom with an amazing clawfoot tub and separate glass enclosed shower. I am incredibly happy. Blanche and I partnered throughout the design and construction phases which was very important to me as I had strong ideas about what I wanted. Blanche's overall approach to the project was very professional and organized starting with meetings to understand my goals, coming back with design ideas and samples so that I could start to see the possibilities. As with any project, we ran into challenges during the construction phase and Blanche was very helpful in navigating those challenges so that we could achieve our vision and complete the project. It is an absolute pleasure now to get ready in the mornings! I had a guest stay with me recently and she commented that she felt like she was staying in a five star hotel! That says it all!!! When I bought my apartment, it was clear that it needed to be renovated. The floors were damaged, there were cracks in the walls, the ceilings were flaking, there were structural changes by the previous owner that affected the general flow, etc. There was much to do and a modest budget. I contacted Blanchett and we discussed in detail what I really wanted in terms of style and look. Before she started working, she provided me with a projection of costs so I would know where and how the funds would be spent. We discussed paint, fabric, furniture, everything, before she took action. She provided options and suggestions so that I could choose the best but still optimize my budget. She was professional, congenial, and considerate of my time, needs and budget. In the end, I got an apartment I love! It's contemporary, comfortable, classy and uncluttered. No detail was overlooked. New floors were laid. My small dining room is highlighted by a beautiful stone and wood table. The full wall of windows is emphasized by simple but richly textured shades and just below is a custom-made wall to wall bookcase. The kitchen was updated and the issues with the general flow in the apartment corrected. Even my bathroom looks like new after some artistic and resourceful fixes. The pieces I wanted to keep from my old apartment were redone with new fabric or stains so that they blend seamlessly with my new furnishings. Included in the many challenges that she faced was what to do about my cat's litter box. Her creative solution: convert one of my closets so that the litter box is on the bottom and I can store items on top, insulated from any unwanted odors. She even installed a cat door that is tasteful and fits perfectly into the closet door without being obvious. I truly could not have asked for more. I absolutely love my new apartment and all the work she did.

Over time BRN Designs has done several projects at my home. These include a porch turned into a year-round family room and a new bathroom. Additionally, some lighter projects such as upgrading a small, existing bathroom have been done over the past several years as we bring an old house into the 21st century. My wife and I found Blanch very easy to work with. She is creative, looks for best supplier, is never wedded to an idea, and [very importantly] stays within a budget. We will not hesitate to work with Blanch for any coming projects; probably will not even bother to approach other designers.

I worked with Blanchett in a professional capacity in the past, and am greatly looking forward to working with her again in the near future on some of her recent projects. I would like to comment both on Blanchett's design aesthetic as well as her professionalism and commitment to her clients and her craft. I am extremely impressed with her design aesthetic. As a photographer, there were so many beautiful juxtapositions of color, texture, material and light to capture. Visually, her design is sophisticated and functional without being forced or over-styled. At every turn of my camera I felt there was something beautiful and exciting to capture and to me this is the ultimate goal of a designed space. I cannot wait to see more of her work from a photographer's point of view. Blanchett is also committed to executing her client's vision. I had the chance to spend some time with the client during the shoot, and it was clear to me that Blanchett took the time and interest in learning about her client's lifestyle needs, personality and interests and incorporated those elements into the final product. From my interaction both with Blanchett and her client, it is clear to me that her relationship style is a true partnership - she uses her expertise wisely but also seeks to obtain input and feedback from the client along the design process. Lastly, I was impressed by Blanchett's attention to detail. Not only does she have an artistic eye for detail in her design, but during the styling process she paid attention to even the smallest detail, many of which would have been overlooked by others. In sum, Blanchett is a committed, talented designer with a true eye for perfection and a passion for bringing her client's dream space to fruition.

The project was for my new apartment in New York City, a 600 sq ft. alcove studio. I worked closely with Blanchett at B R Nelson Interior Design to create a space that has surpassed even my wildest dreams. There isn't a day that goes by where I do not walk into my apartment and smile.
