My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

About Us

Boston Area Interior Designer
Copper Dot Interiors is all about making your space as unique as it's inhabitants. We specialize in mixing styles and price points in order to create a home that truly represents you. I am Karen Goodman, the designer behind Copper Dot Interiors. After graduating from Endicott College with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, I worked in healthcare and corporate design before chasing my dreams towards designing more personal spaces. One thing that sets Copper Dot apart is my hands-on approach... hands-dirty is more accurate. When not dreaming up new designs, I can be found wielding power tools and flipping houses. I love taking this approach with my client's spaces and often refinish vintage pieces to incorporate into my designs.

Karen came for our home consultation today, and the value she provided was outstanding! From our initial inquiry, she was very responsive and promptly scheduled a call for our project. At our subsequent home meeting, she was a great listener and brought tons of ideas that were in line with our style + the function of our space. Her sourcing suggestions were impressive, with a variety of options depending on how efficient or custom we wanted to be, for each aspect of the design. We know Karen has our back as we continue the design process!! Highly recommend!

I worked with Karen from Copper Dot Interiors on designing my son's room and updating my bedroom. She had a very professional attitude and listened to my ideas. She was able to interpret what I was asking for by coming to me with ideas and suggestions and allowing us to work as a team to complete the design. Budget was very important to me on these projects and Karen helped me to stick to that budget while providing design services that were still modern and appealing. When updating my bedroom Karen was able to work with a piece of furniture that I found on Craigslist that I wanted to place in the room. She helped me coordinate the furniture to go with it in the room. I had a very positive experience working with Karen from Copper Dot Interiors, I would highly recommend her design services and would use her in the future for other house projects.

Karen at Copper Dot helped us to start visualizing our entire new home but most importantly helped us design our kitchen. She quickly intuits how to best use a space but was willing to incorporate our pinterested pics and pre-existing ideas with her own thoughts. We started with a very small (antique space) and needed to incorporate storage in our cabinet layout while also desiring an open concept that is almost impossible in a house of this age. Karen produced a beautiful sketch quickly. I personally love her style but know that the most important thing to her is that the home owner feels excited by the space when it is finished. I can't wait to design more rooms with her when our renovation is done!

Yes, we absolutely work with contractors and other trades during renovations. Our 'Full Custom Design' service includes managing projects through installation. My personal experience flipping 8 houses and collaborating with local carpenters for custom pieces means I'm very comfortable coordinating with other professionals to bring your vision to life.

My design fees typically begin with an initial consultation, which lasts about 60-90 minutes. Following that, most projects are structured on an hourly basis. For larger projects, depending on their scope, we can discuss alternative fee structures to best suit your needs. I'm always happy to clarify any questions you have about working together.

For our 'Full Custom Design' service, we absolutely manage the entire project from concept through to the final touches. This includes purchasing, overseeing installation, and even the 'pillow fluffing' to ensure every detail is perfect. We aim to create a fresh space you'll never want to leave.
