We hired Katelyn to consult with us on our Spanish Revival house which we built in Topanga, starting with just a plot of land. The house had many opportunities to incorporate elements of the immediate physical environment and Katelyn had some great ideas for how to do this. Her uncanny gift for colors stands out and she really used this gift when helping us select tile for the home. When we ran into problems where we could not see a great solution, we would call on her and she would come up with a creative way to solve it. She is a truly great problem solver, and I never appreciated how important that was until building a home. Katelyn has many contacts in the building/decorating industry that were very useful. We really appreciated her attention to detail and that she would inspect work as it was being done. If something was not being done to her standard, she would have it corrected before it went too far, which is something I rarely experience in this industry. I would highly recommend her for high quality work.

We hired KCS Design to help remodel our tiny kitchen and our office/guest room for more functional space. Katelyn completely reimagined our spaces and came up with unique and eye-pleasing ways to add more storage into our small spaces - including a custom Murphy bed! Her attention to detail and her design knowledge is unmatched. She stayed within our target budget and timeline, while still offering high-end options that we wanted. Her team was incredibly easy to work with, extremely professional, and very reliable. We can't wait to have more projects to hire her for. We recommend her to everyone we know!

We have used Katelyn from KCS design both for a complete renovation of our 4000 square foot home, and for renovation of a medical office space. She did an amazing job on both projects. As a couple, we have very different tastes, and for our home, she was able to immediately come up with a compromise design that made us both happy. Katelyn cared about the renovation timeline and budget as much as if she was renovating her own house.... and since we are two very busy professionals, it was great knowing that we could just hand over the projects to her, and that everything would get done. We have also used her for a couple of smaller projects. We would continue to use her in the future without hesitation.

I used kcs design for a whole house renovation and a new office renovation. Katelyn is fantastic in working with my wife and my differing aesthetics. I like modern and she likes shabby chiq. Katelyn is very innovative and sophisticated in her design aesthetic. She also works very well with the budget. I was so satisfied with the job she did on our house, i hired kcs design to totally renovate my new office. I have gotten nothing but compliments on the office space, and to me Katelyn proves her versatility in knowing how to design for both residential and commercial spaces. Highly recommend!

Katelyn did an amazing job on our living/dining room! My husband and I have pretty specific eclectic taste, a mix of modern and antique with a LOT of color, and Katelyn just nailed it. She created a perfect blend of geometric patterns, unique vintage, industrial and modern pieces, pops of color and more organic patterns and softer elements. That's a lot to have to combine in one space, but she made it work and made it very cozy and inviting! She was even able to make it dog friendly. Our friends agree that the rooms feel like us, and assume that some of the pieces Katelyn picked out were things we already had or chose ourselves. In addition to making all of our design dreams come true, Katelyn is a really upbeat person which made working with her fun. She can definitely be trusted to deliver a beautiful space that takes all of your needs/desires into account!

Katelyn helped me move forward with redoing my kitchen. I was stuck and not making progress but Katelyn's energy and expertise got me going! She made clear and sharp recommendations right from the start. Once on the job, she moves with speed and efficiency. Katelyn does not waste time! She was very responsive to my needs, budget and preferences. I found her to be totally client-centered. She was always accessible and made herself available for my questions and concerns. In addition, the range of her knowledge never ceased to amaze me. She not only knew all about style and design of faucets but was familiar with the workings of them underneath the sink as well! Katelyn is a very talented designer.

I have used KCS Design multiple times. Katelyn has done everything from giving my old townhouse a makeover to completely renovating our new house from scratch. We purchased a wonderful home that needed more work that it seemed when we bought it. Katelyn was amazing at not only the design aspect -- color palate, finding and designing custom furniture in a specific style -- but in the nitty gritty of figuring out air ducts, getting the chimney redone, and the roof replaced. What is so helpful about her is that she does the design part and the project managing. She'll coordinate everything with the verizon guy AND find you a rare piece of art you're searching for. Her thoroughness really stands out -- she always meets with multiple people and is great at getting all the information so you're really making an informed decision. One of the best things is that after the project is completed, if you have any issues, she has everything on file -- I've since rented out my townhouse and instead of managing it myself, if there's any problem -- needing a section repainted or the dishwasher breaking down -- Katelyn knows everything about it and can send someone to handle it for me. She also knows how to work within a budget -- we gave her a budget of 100K but as the project went along, we ended up wanting to do about 4 times as many things as we initially planned -- but she helped keep our budget down so that even though we went a little over, we got huge value for everything. Also, she managed to have our entire house basically liveable in six weeks. We moved in at the end of October and at our holiday party in mid-Dec, people couldn't believe we hadn't lived their for years. We highly recommend Katelyn and would use her company again and again.

KCS remodeled my kitchen and two bathrooms. They couldn't have been more helpful and efficient. I was looking for a somewhat traditional look and Katelyn helped me make selections that felt like "me" and didn't push me toward because they might be current or trendy or because she wanted to add to her own design book. She was also very exacting with the contractors and when things weren't right she was stayed on top of them until all was well. All in all a fantastic experience with a design firm.

Katelyn did a great job helping us with our kitchen remodel. She is professional, always easy to get a hold of, and goes out of her way to make sure you are happy.

We commissioned KCS to help design and oversee the construction of several large pieces of furniture (built-ins for the living room, kitchen island, etc.) for our home. We worked directly with Katelyn, who has a keen eye for both form and function and was also very creative about and sensitive to the fact that we cared a lot about what materials were used for the pieces. We also appreciated that she was very happy to give us several different designs in different budget ranges, while also giving us advice on what would enhance the value of our home, something we hadn't really thought about. In the end, and we're not sure how she did it, but she was able to deliver incredible quality at prices much lower than what we had priced out with other designers. We constantly get compliments from guests on the craftmanship of our pieces and we would not hesitate to recommend KCS.
