A Chicago native, M.J. Lanphier studied Architecture at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, in addition to studies at L’Ecole D’Architecture De Versailles, France in 2000.

11 years of professional interior design experience between New York City and Los Angeles led to the establishment of MJLID in 2004.

    MJ Lanphier A mirror like this one will have to be custom made. We made this one using our nearest framing store, selected a large, chunky frame, and then had mirror cut to fit those dimensions.

    MJ Lanphier This is a gas fireplace that was custom made on site. The flames certainly do look interesting in this snapshot - we had the gas on it's highest level!

    MJ Lanphier We made those ourselves from scratch, with 1x4" and 1x6" pieces of wood, painted the same color as the baseboard trim color.

    MJ Lanphier This particular product has been discontinued, unfortunately. It was purchased from "Wolf Gordon" in West Hollywood, CA. It is a natural seagrass with a subtle metallic weave, which catches the natural light.
