About Us

DEANE, Inc was founded in 1961 by Raymond Girard in Pound Ridge, NY. He was the father-in-law of Peter M. Deane, who moved the business to Fairfield County in 1980. Today his children, Peter Deane and Carrie Deane Corcoran, manage the two showrooms in Stamford and New Canaan, Connecticut. They proudly adhere to the historical mission that has guided the business through three generations. The Deane, Inc. family honors its legacy by providing the highest-quality custom cabinetry, innovative and compelling interior design, superior craftsmanship and outstanding customer service. Deane, Inc. has designed countless rooms in Connecticut, Westchester, and New York City. In addition, we are often requested to do projects in Florida, Massachusetts and other states at many of our clients' second homes. To create more open space, we decided to take down the wall between our kitchen and dining room. While we wanted to update the kitchen with a new island and cabinetry, we also wanted to preserve most of the existing reclaimed chestnut cabinets as well. Our kitchen designer, Gianna Santoro, did a beautiful job designing the new layout and blending the old with the new. Gianna was always accessible during the whole planning process and was incredibly helpful in providing creative ideas on finishes. Our Deane installer, Peter, was meticulous and did a wonderful job putting it all together! We had a great experience working with Deane!

We LOVED working with Ingrid! From the moment we met her, we knew she understood what we were looking for. She is wonderful to work with and her ideas are very creative. Ingrid was able to transform a small, unattractive space that we did not want to spend time in, into a beautiful, spacious, and relaxing area that we spend all of our time in. Ingrid listened when we wanted to try a new idea and was always available when we had questions. Ingrid supported us every step of the way and even our contractor commented on how great she is to work with-she is very responsive and thinks of every detail. We receive so many compliments on our kitchen and we are thrilled with how it turned out!

We had a great experience working with Gianna and Deane Inc. Gianna came to the house before we purchased it to give us ideas for how the space could be redone. Once we engaged Gianna, she presented us with numerous creative ideas to what we could do with the space. As we were moving from a small apartment in NYC, we relied heavily on Gianna’s expertise to what we would want/need for the house. Gianna went above and beyond helping us select tiles for the backsplash, mudroom floor, and helping advise us on light placement. Timing and staying on schedule was of the utmost importance to us (with a newborn on the way) and Gianna expertly coordinated schedules with our contractor and vendors, getting us in the house 1 week early! We would absolutely work with Gianna and Deane Inc. again!

We recently finished a project with Terry Scarborough from Deane and Alice Burnham Inc. Interior Design in New Canaan. They have very good design sense and are very knowledgeable about high end cabinetry design and construction. We were very impressed by Deane’s top notch quality throughout the project. Terry Scarborough in particular was very helpful, professional and accommodating throughout the project. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Deane again in the future.

All four invloved complete kitchen redo's, two included bathroom vanities, and one a family room entertainment center/bar, the most recent having been completed last year.
