Doris Younger Designs

I must say that every project Doris has done for me, she has exceeded all of my expectations. The finished products were all magazine cover beautiful yet comfortable enough for everyday life. I am very happy with the way my home has come together.

Incredible design work! Doris Younger listened to our (completely opposite) wants and needs with an interior re-design, including kitchen, living room, dining room, and two and a half baths. Brought ideas, photos, and fabrics to narrow down our interests. Used CAD to design our new interior and show us what it could look like. Many pieces she showed us were right on target and we ordered sight unseen from photos and catalogues. Doris also escorted us to the design district where we were able to see first hand and touch many furniture pieces, chandliers, lamps, fabrics, faucets, fixtures, etc. Our design was transitional/contemporary; however, she has a portofolio of all styles. Very versitle! Everyone that saw the before and after is amazed and delighted. We have given her name and number to several friends (and strangers that came to purchase old furniture!). Thank you, Doris, for making our home look spectacular!

Doris is an excellent designer. She is very professional but comfortable to work with. We were downsizing to a 1920’s Tudor style home. She talked with me to find out my ideas and incorporated the pieces I wanted to keep in with the new. She created a cohesive style while still making the rooms uniquely our own. She kept within our budget and worked very quickly. The contractors she brought in were extremely professional and their work was of the highest quality. I know she had several other projects ongoing but she was always available to me to answer any questions or to discuss any ideas. As the project neared the end she stayed attentive to detail and added the finishing touches that pull a room together. I highly recommend Doris.

Doris Younger is an extraordinary talent in the interior design field. In the 16 years she worked for our company (Claypool's Ethan Allen Home Interiors), she won every possible award for design & service, both locally & internationally. Her talents & skills in design are stellar. She has gone on to build a design firm of her own with great success. In addition, she has the poise and professionalism to see any project through to a successful conclusion. In my 30 years as a designer, I have never seen anyone exceed her in reliability, competance and talent, and she does it all with grace. I cannot recommend her highly enough. If you have the chance to use her services, grab it and count yourself lucky to have found this gem.

Doris Younger Designs: Doris Younger has always been very professional and helpful. I have used her Design Co. for years and have never been disappointed. Doris has used her design expertise and superior knowledge of color and, in my case, home interior decorating skills to my advantage. I have so enjoyed every room in our home that she has helped me decorate. The colors and fabrics are quality and last for years, or till I tire of them and want an update. I can't say enough positive about Doris and her skills of design and decorating.

Doris took my inspiration picture for my master bathroom and totally nailed it. I think it is actually better than my inspiration picture. We did a total tear down of the old bathroom. Doris took me to the best tile shop in Dallas and we selected a beautiful honed statuary marble and basketweave marble for the floor and shower. From there she made the suggestions for the clawfoot airtub, telephone water faucet. She selected a rain shower and hand held for the shower all in beautiful satin nickel. We went for the steam shower as well. I had a ten foot long cabinet previously, so we broke that length into three pieces with the center standing out and up from the other two, with a center cabinet on top, but only coming out 12 inches, with nice drawers and display shelf. Also added a large linen cabinet with two large pull out drawers to act as towel and sheet hampers. Doris made some great suggestions for updating the master closet, by adding custom built-in his/her dressers, full size shoe rack and laundry basket holder. It looks like a boutique shop. Everything was beautifully executed with the general contractor she brought in, it has taken about 2 1/2 months - but from a complete tear down (the tile job took 3 weeks alone). It is amazing and the costs has been well worth it. I could have never have found these amazing materials without her assistance. If you get the chance you should hire her! Executed perfectly. I told her that in ten years, I don't want to look back and say "what was I thinking?" I wanted a master retreat that will last for many, many years. I received quotes from other contractors, they came in took a couple of pictures, I explained what I wanted, showed them my inspiration picture, a week later they spit out a quote - that gave me material allowances. Builder grade material prices too boot. Doris and her team took probably 2 months to bid the project. They brought in the subs to see the project and quote it, but this time it was about the materials. The price that Doris bid was very comparable to other quote that I received. But this time it was all about the materials and not about their overhead. So if you truly want a new beautiful bathroom - that is about the materials, then you should pick Doris as your designer. But be patient it takes time to make a masterpiece.
