Hi guiltygirl44 - you are right, not these succulents at least. Sempervivum are hardy here, but they are just not as luscious as the non-hardy ones which are used as annuals here. When I planted them, I initially intended to keep them as annuals and not worry about trying to winter them over. However
I would not think an island in the NW would accommodate succulents
