Something for above sofa

Any ideas for what I can put behind the sofa in my 1 bedroom condo? Attached pics of kitchen too for reference. I've looked at a million art pieces but can't decide on anything!

So sorry, and no intent to offend as I know this is not part of your question, but I just keep wondering what it would be like if you turned the rug and the couch to face the tv....think how comfy that would be to watch it straight on. Then that chair and a table could go on the wall.....lamp on the table.....and your art needs will change then, too. Smaller, but still colorful to be an accent in the room.

Your rooms look pretty neutral so I'd go with a large piece of art in bright colors. Get something that speaks to you, not just a picture to match your surroundings. It should be horizontal and hung about 6 inches above sofa.

Find a local artist in your area and commission something personal.

Thanks! Sadly, the room isn't quite big enough!

I would put a framed print with a lots of color there to bring some color to the room.

Here are a couple of ideas:

I've ordered several nice prints from allposters that I've framed, and am very happy with them. The shipping has been a bit slow, but other than that, it's been a good experience, and they have a huge selection of anything you could want.

I would add a large art piece. Now what kind of art are you drawn to? Abstract, realistic, impressionism? Do you have any favorite artists? I can absolutely help you narrow it down from there.

Abstract I think. I'm finding that I like all the neutrals... Surprise surprise...! I seem to be afraid of colors!

It's amazing what you can find on eBay. And you can search by color scheme. To get a large piece, you can find one that comes in several pieces which doesn't cost so much to ship. Like a panoramic. Very reasonable too. Some are on canvas, others on metal.

If you're drawn to neutrals, go with that...maybe even cool colors like blues, greens, grays. Then pull blues and greens into throw pillows and other accessories.

Since you are afraid of color, how about a collection of mirrors. You can get them all random or just with silver frames. You can collect them over time and reuse them in other spaces if you move. Mirrors always look right because they reflect light into the room.
