Once you paint the brick, you will have that added chore on your maintenance list (I probably wouldn't do it), though Vicki Simon's suggestion for color would be very striking. I might consider changing the look by changing the drive to something more interesting and landscaping - both could use serious updating.
Metal roofs can be very noisy, though, you're right, it really needs redoing. A black roof with the brick might be to boost the look enough to skip the paint.
Garage doors are a great idea! Will add value to your house. The black and white with a black roof seems the strongest.
