the starburst mirror is already on one wall over the chairs. The TV is what it is....we all have them and get fixed on trying to minimize their appearance. Your art is beautiful. I would remove the plants from the mantel and clear the small items from the other side area, adding large urns or a large plant to compete with the tv.

Hi, you might consider adding more paintings, interesting but low key, so they do not compete with the beautiful piece above the mantel. Check out the photo from an article "Decorating Around the Flatscreen" that I found online. The designer did an amazing job of creating a wall of art. You might consider actually attaching the flatscreen to the wall, with a smaller rectangular painting, matted with white above it: see red pastel below. On the right, possibly something like the camel color Joan Miro framed in black with a smaller painting hanging below it, like the beautiful white horse below or some a few very simple charcoal drawings. I think that this treatment would balance your wall without taking away from the other piece. Good luck!

You could consider a nice grass cloth that is very close in color to your walls on the entire fireplace wall. I know you don't want to move the art, but anything you use to complete the side spaces will compete with it. I would move the art over the sofa and put the mirror over the fireplace. The colors in your art are repeated in your sofa and pillows and it will stand alone. Then I would use black and white photos with white mats and frames, two above the TV and four, two over two, on the right side. The white will tie in the white woodwork and take the eye up.

Another possibility is to have a low key, possibly a black and white charcoal painting on each side of the fireplace, but the one on the right will be able to slide behind the tv when you are using the tv, but slide in front when the tv is not in use. There are also tv adapters that are specifically made to allow a painting to lie on top of the tv, and then come off when the tv will be used.

Perfect TV blend and fade!

I would look at putting a shelve right above the TV and one above the built in on the opposite wall. You would divide the space nicely and balance that empty side without competing so much with the TV's size.
